"Heh, this world is truly impossible to understand now. Supernatural nonsense has actually made it into the newspapers. These news agencies are utterly lawless—only caring about money, without even reviewing their content."

Inside a restaurant in ZS City, a middle-aged man in a suit looked over a newspaper and could not help finding its contents ridiculous.

"There must be someone pulling strings behind this. They probably want to stir up panic to achieve some purpose. I've seen plenty of things like this—ocean pollution triggering a salt-buying frenzy, doomsday crises triggering food hoarding. After all, only when people panic do they spend recklessly." A colleague beside him smiled.

The middle-aged man nodded. "That makes sense. Still, this newspaper reminds me of the strange things that happened when this hotel was first built."

"What happened? Tell me about it," his colleague asked.

The middle-aged man said, "Do you know what used to be on this hotel's land?"

"I'm not from around here. How would I know?" His colleague shook his head.

The middle-aged man said, "This hotel used to be an abandoned building. It stood unused for decades until it was auctioned off a few years ago. The buyer was a developer surnamed Wang. He originally planned to build an office building, but construction went very badly after work began. I don't know the specifics, but they say several workers died, and some even disappeared. They still haven't been found."

"That creepy? Is it true?" his colleague asked in surprise.

The middle-aged man said, "I don't know whether it's true or not. But after that happened, the developer surnamed Wang apparently received advice from someone and directly changed the plans, turning the office building into a restaurant."

"Changing the plans halfway through construction? Wouldn't that be a massive loss?" The colleague laughed.
