Yang Jian drove back to Guangjiang Residential Area.
There were two people in his car: Zhang Liqin and Liu Xiaoyu.
"You still haven't arranged a place for me to stay. Logically, I shouldn't have been working on my first day. At the very least, I need somewhere to settle down first, right? I don't want to live at the company. There's no privacy at all."
Liu Xiaoyu spoke as she looked at Yang Jian, who was driving.
"How about I stay at your place? Your house is so big, and there are plenty of rooms. Can't you clear one out for me?"
Zhang Liqin instinctively refused when she heard that. "That won't do."
"What's wrong with that?" Liu Xiaoyu asked. "It's not like I'd disturb you."
Zhang Liqin was immediately left speechless, unsure how to answer.
After all, she had no right to refuse Liu Xiaoyu moving in. She was also only staying at Yang Jian's house, nowhere near qualified to call herself its mistress.
Yang Jian said, "Staying at my house isn't a wise choice."
"I wouldn't feel safe living alone either. What if something happened and no one knew?" Liu Xiaoyu said. "I'm an operator and liaison officer. I have a lot of information and intelligence. What if I got kidnapped and tortured? Wouldn't I end up spilling all your secrets?"
"Then you might get angry and kill me to silence me. No, that absolutely won't do. I need protection too."
Her eyes darted about as she tried to find a way into Yang Jian's luxurious home.
"I've thought of a good place. It's more suitable for you," Yang Jian said as he drove into the residential area. But instead of stopping at his house, he passed right by it and headed toward the rear of the complex.
