A blond, blue-eyed man with a bright smile approached the entrance to the Mist Forest leading to the temple. His curiosity was piqued by the mysterious aura surrounding the area. The young trees seemed to beckon to him, their branches shrouded in an ethereal Fog.
As he ventured deeper into the forest, the atmosphere grew even more surreal. The soft rustling of leaves and the whisper of the wind added to the mystique. Patches of sunlight pierced through the thick canopy, creating a scene of interplay between light and shadow, a vision of another world. Although the forest was still young, and the trees were only four or five meters tall, the only constant was the sunlight on the path. As he peered into the woods, the light dimmed.
He was filled with surprise and trepidation. He had heard legends of the temple hidden in this forest, stories of magic and secrets. The surrounding paths were all blocked; the only way out was the main road. He didn't know what he would find deep in the forest. Yet, curiosity compelled him to venture into the forest and leave the main road.
As Aermir continued meticulously crafting the cloak, Poe made contact with him telepathically.
"Father," Bo said, " Gerion Lannister has reached the outskirts of the Mist Forest. However, he seems to have deviated from his planned route."
Aermir considered for a moment before responding telepathically. "In that case, let's make sure he understands the importance of holding the road. Po, contact Berus and Artio. Instruct them to coordinate their actions using the controlled wolves and bears. Their objective is to surround Gerion's forces. Ensure that everyone except Gerion Lannister dies in this encounter, and that Gerion himself suffers only minor injuries."
A sinister smile spread across Aermir's face. For some time, he had longed to use someone as a stark example to demonstrate the dangers lurking deep in the forest. When the eerie howls of wolves or the ominous roars of bears echoed through the woods, most people wisely chose the predetermined path.
Gerion always loved seeking thrills, and today was no exception. Upon encountering the mist-shrouded forest, instead of sticking to the familiar path, he made a fatal decision, plunging headlong into the unknown. As they ventured deeper into the forest, they began to feel lost. The mysterious influence of the mist wove a web of disorientation, and a sense of unease began to take root in Gerion's heart. He wondered if ignoring the warnings posted at the edge of the forest was merely a reckless adventure, not a daring escape. But curiosity prevailed; he yearned to experience the mysteries of this enchanting mist firsthand.
One of his knights approached Gerion with unease and asked, "My lord, should we return to the road?"
Gerion stopped in his tracks, pondering nervously for a moment. As time ticked by, his regret deepened. The eerie howls and roars grew louder, and unease spread like Wildfire among his soldiers.
Trying to return to safety proved futile; the dense forest seemed to thwart every attempt. They found themselves trapped in a labyrinth of mist and magic. Yellow, predatory eyes relentlessly tracked their every move from the shadows, the forest's eerie veil concealing its master. Incessant howls and roars echoed through the mist, an endless chorus of threats sending chills down the spines of Gerion's soldiers. Fear gripped them tightly, tightening with each passing moment.
The forest fell eerily silent, as if nature itself were holding its breath. The soldiers, gripped tightly by fear, could hardly believe the sudden cessation of the commotion. They gripped their weapons even tighter, their eyes darting in all directions, searching for any movement. It was as if all the animals in the forest were dead; as if there was no living creature left in the forest except for the soldiers.
But just then, a chilling sound shattered the silence—the howls of wolves and the roars of bears echoed through the misty forest. It was as if the ground beneath their feet trembled in response to the approaching pack of wolves.
Emerging from the shadows and thick fog was a nightmarish procession. The creatures' eyes gleamed like fiery pupils. Gnashing wolves and bears with sharp claws surged forth, a relentless, predatory horde. Faced with this onslaught, the Lannister soldiers had no choice but to hold their ground. Panic spread through the ranks as they formed a defensive circle, back to back, swords and spears flashing with desperate resolve. Knights and foot soldiers alike knew their lives depended on holding off the merciless pack. About sixty or seventy beasts charged towards them, perhaps even a hundred.
In the first clash, screams and roars rose and fell, swords clashed with fangs and claws. Wolves leaped savagely and precisely, their jaws clamping down on bare flesh, while bears swept with tremendous force, hurling their prey into the air.
The forest floor transformed into a bloody and chaotic vortex, as this desperate battle unfolded beneath a veil of oppressive mist. Every soldier was determined to fight bravely, for they knew that retreat was impossible within the claustrophobic space of the Temple Mist Forest.
The wolves were cunning and ruthless, circling their prey and searching for gaps in their defenses. The knights brandished their longswords, drawing arcs as they struck down the oncoming threats, but the beasts remained unyielding. For every wolf that fell, it seemed another would take its place.
Gerion Lannister charged into battle with unwavering courage, his golden lion emblem a beacon of resistance in the eye of the storm. His swordsmanship proved his training and bravery, felling beast after beast. But the battle was fierce, and losses continued to mount.
The Lannister soldiers, their faces contorted with fear, brandished their weapons with all their might, felling some ferocious beasts. But the sheer number of wolves and bears overwhelmed them.
Within minutes, the forest floor was littered with the lifeless corpses of Lannister soldiers; their valiant struggle had been in vain. Wild beasts tore at the fallen enemies, feasting on them with gusto—a truly gruesome sight.
Gerion Lannister's arm was bitten and bleeding profusely; he found himself among the few survivors. Panic and despair drove them to abandon their fallen comrades and flee. They raced through the misty forest, their hearts pounding as they were pursued relentlessly by predators.
The forest was like an endless labyrinth, and they could feel the predatory gazes of the creatures watching their every move. When they finally broke out of the forest and reached the open plain, Gerion looked back one last time. He met the gaze of a wolf, its yellow eyes fixed on him. With a fierce howl, the wolf turned and disappeared into the misty depths of the forest. Almost all of his men had been captured on the plain and dragged back into the forest. Of the more than 60 men, only a handful remained.
