When I learned that Bo could use magic, I was very surprised. Out of that surprise and curiosity, I stayed up all night that day, trying to teach Bo other elements, but without success. She could only control the wind element, and the only magic she knew was Wind Ball.

I went without sleep for the next two days, teaching Bo how to use the wind element. Although Bo's wind spell was level 1, it had not started at a useless level like mine. With this spell, she could cave in an adult's chest.

One of the things I taught her was how to use the wind element to form a wind tunnel in front of her. This sent both her flight speed and stamina soaring.

But this method currently had a drawback: she had no trouble flying in a straight line, but her turns could no longer be as tight as before because her speed had increased significantly.

Ah, who was I kidding? She now turned like a semi-truck. It took her a long time to make a 90-degree turn. Like a turning jet, she had to make a wide circle.

But I thought she could overcome this problem over time if her control over mana improved. I believed she could use small bursts of mana like thrusters to make her turns sharp and quick, but that was still somewhat impossible for now.

She could use the wind tunnel in an open area to increase the power of her Wind Ball spell to nearly that of a level 2 spell, but she needed a large area to maneuver.

First, she had to reach a high position, about 40-50 meters up, then dive rapidly toward her target. When he was just 3 or 4 meters from the target, he would cast Wind Ball and suddenly pull up.

This made the spell about as powerful as my level 2 wind spell. She could turn a wolf into minced meat with this move. Although her spell was less powerful than mine, it was more lethal.

Because when she hit someone with this spell, that person would be flattened between the spell and the ground. But if I hit someone, I would send him flying, so most of the force would dissipate.

This was a fascinating new experience for me, so I even forgot about that wall and trained her for an entire week before stopping. The only reason I stopped was that she disobeyed me and tried to use this move inside the training space, which got her killed.

Because her strength had skyrocketed so quickly, she had started behaving far too arrogantly, and honestly, she had the right to be a little flashy. She had basically become a World War II bomber, but I had warned her not to use this move inside. She did not listen and used it anyway.

In the end, she successfully killed the dummy, but she could not control her ascent and crashed into the roof of the training space, crushing every bone in her body. She died before I could kick her out of the training space.

This was a wake-up call for her: spells were not toys. At least she had crashed inside the training space. Yes, she had suffered major trauma and was still in shock, but at least she was alive. If this had happened while we were outside the training space, we would have had to bury her by now.

Fifteen days later, I finally reached the Wall. How had a massive block of ice over two hundred meters tall remained intact for eight thousand years? My guess was magic, and I could finally prove it. But there was something I wanted to try first.

"Promodynes (Find Animal), humans."

A few seconds later, I confirmed that there were no humans within an area at least 3 kilometers in diameter. Then I gripped my sword with my free hand and cast:

"Blade of Flame."

My entire sword disappeared into orange-yellow flames. I gripped the sword with both hands and said:

"May the Force be with you."

Then I thrust the flaming sword into the wall. The instant my flaming sword touched the ice wall, a piercing hiss rang out. The ice wall slowly melted, and my sword slowly sank into it. Steam began filling the area as the ice melted and met the cold air. After five minutes of driving the flaming sword into the wall, it had only penetrated about 10 centimeters. To increase its power, I gave myself strength and stamina buffs.

Even after the enhancement, I could only push it another five centimeters. After all that effort, things had not gone as I had imagined. I had thought my flaming sword would pierce the wall like butter, but not even a third of its length had gone in.

Furious, I pushed with every ounce of strength I had. Just then, I felt the mana of this land activate, coming from the wall. Then I felt all the mana in the sword being sucked away by the wall, and my sword shattered like glass. After the sword broke, the hole in the wall began to close. I immediately threw away the broken sword, pressed both hands against the wall, and tried to sense the flow of mana inside it.

I had expected to discover that the wall was filled with ice-element magic, but it was not. This was completely different. There were no elements inside the wall, only pure arcane power, but that was not all. The wall was covered in writing, enormous writing. It was as though I were looking at a gigantic ice stele. Runes were inscribed from one end of the wall to the other.

This writing looked like the runes I had begun learning when I gained an understanding of Ritual Magic, but apart from one word, I did not know what any of it meant. The runic inscription read:

The only word I recognized was "death ()." The rest was a mystery to me.
