(Male protagonist's perspective)
The close combat ended in my victory, and I now kneel before the king awaiting my reward. The climax of the tournament was the free-for-all, which many southern knights did not participate in. In many people's eyes, a tournament without duels is not a true tournament, and after learning that the tournament was also open to commoners, almost no important knights attended. This is something those southern knights who strut around like peacocks simply cannot understand. Holding a tournament in the North is not for grandeur. It is done to boost morale and provide entertainment for every arrogant idiot.
The King and Lord Stark slowly walked towards me.
"That was a wonderful battle, and I enjoyed every detail. First and foremost, the reward your lord gave you."
Lord Stark stepped forward, handing me the storage bag as he spoke.
"As the winner of the contest, you deserve this reward of 1000 gold dragons. I congratulate you on the courage and talent you have shown at this age."
This time, the king stepped forward, put his hand on Lord Stark's shoulder, and asked.
"How old is this knight? Everyone was stunned by this victory."
Lord Stark said.
"It's time to take off your helmet, Aermir Drasil, and my king. He's not a knight yet; he's thirteen."
He exclaimed in surprise when I took off my helmet and looked at the king.
"You're just a child!"
Ser Selmy approached the King and said
"I've heard of this young man's name. Rumors say he's killed thousands of bandits, and that the Old Gods sent him to protect the North, calling him a ' Calamity.' Even if most of it is just hearsay, it's true that he's saved many from bandits."
"Good heavens, I hate that nickname, it's awful!" the king said, turning to Lord Stark.
"He can't be 13 years old. Look at him, so young, he's younger than 18."
Lord Stark said with a smile.
He grew up in the Citadel right in front of me. Even so, sometimes I find it hard to believe, but he's definitely 13.
The king, cradling his swollen belly, began to laugh heartily.
"We can no longer keep such a talented man as a squire. Bring me my sword; I want to knight him right here and now."
"Your Majesty, may I say something?"
"Speak."
"My King, if you were not a follower of the Seven, it would be an honor for me to be knighted by you. The Seven cannot knight a North; it would be an insult to my ancestors."
Jaime Lannister walked in and took his sword.
"Child, did you hear what you said? I think you've forgotten who you're talking to. That's why we don't grant titles to commoners in the South."
"Hahaha!! Get out of my way, Kingslayer. I need your help dealing with a boy when the sun rises in the west. You just stand there and enjoy the view."
The king turned to me, gesturing for me to stand up.
"I like you, kid. You have guts, but I don't care about any of those seven idiots."
"My king, I have said that if I am knighted by the protectors of the faith, I will become an outsider in the North."
He picked up his wine glass, took a big gulp, and said...
"I really don't understand what's so surprising about the Seven and the Old Gods. You should feel honored that I'm willing to knight you."
"My king, but I cannot accept it. I cannot accept becoming the knight of the Seven who burned down our weirwood tree."
He took another big gulp of wine and said.
"Those things happened long before you were born. Why should you care?"
Can you shut up, you big piece of bacon? When are you going to leave me alone? I can't allow you to turn me into a Southern knight and make all my years of hard work go to waste.
"My king, I may not have been born, but the North remembers. We will never forget; please bestow this honor upon someone more deserving."
"If you're so insistent on your beliefs, Ned, you wouldn't object to knighting him, would you?"
"I am honored by your generosity, my king."
"If you want us to knight him, we should go to the Godswood."
"Why is that?"
"When we bestow a title upon someone, we always do so in front of a weirwood tree, if possible; it is tradition."
Almost all the Stark knights had arrived, while the king and the Kingsguard stood by watching curiously. First, the knights lined up in two rows, taking a step to each side to form a corridor in the middle. I used this corridor to slowly walk towards the weirwood tree.
As I passed by, they raised their swords above their heads in salute. I came to the weirwood tree, knelt down, removed my helmet, and placed it in front of me. The other knights formed a crescent behind me. Lord Stark came over and stood beside me.
"We are gathered here today to witness the knighthood of Aermir de Drashir. Aermir Drashir, son of Balon and Lagertha, are you ready to take the oath?"
"Ready."
"All my knightly brothers, are you ready to witness this young man's vow?"
They said in unison, placing their swords heavily against their chests.
"Yes!"
"Now, Aermir Drasil, the Old Gods bear witness to your vow."
I began to repeat after Lord Stark.
"I will face evil with a vigilant eye."
I will not tolerate evil.
"I will be courageous and upright, and let the Old Gods guide me."
"Even when facing death, I will tell the truth."
I will be a shield protecting the helpless.
"I will become a sword, piercing the heart of evil."
Then Lord Stark raised his sword and placed it on my shoulder.
"Now, a knight is born... Green Knight, the Old Gods welcome you."
And so I became a knight. The North is my home, and my next step is to become a nobleman and acquire some land. To do that, I need to become a hero in the upcoming war.
