What's Your Size?
Of course, Luo Lianqing never did get his answer. Wen Ce simply watched her in silence. Somehow, she understood the confusion in his eyes, so she smiled and changed the subject.
The meal brought them much closer and gave Wen Ce a little more understanding of her.
He discovered that, on the surface, she was a mature, steady senior, but in certain respects, she was a little too... innocent.
For instance, right now. After dinner, they walked home together, and they were supposed to go their separate ways.
But before going inside, Luo Lianqing looked at him, visibly torn. In the end, she asked, "Since we're friends now, could you do me a favor?"
Wen Ce raised an eyebrow at her, but ultimately didn't refuse.
Although he hadn't really had friends of the opposite sex, Luo Lianqing asking him for help could count as a sign of trust.
But he hadn't imagined this kind of help.
Now he was sitting in her living room with Egg Yolk in his arms.
Luo Lianqing sat across from him with a laptop on her lap.
The scene bizarrely reminded Wen Ce of an interrogation room.
Though an interrogation room wasn't this relaxed.
Luo Lianqing tapped a few keys on her laptop, then said, "Would you mind if I asked you some fairly private questions? I actually put this questionnaire together ages ago, but the questions are pretty explicit. I felt most people probably wouldn't want to answer, so I kept putting it aside..."
Wen Ce's hand stopped stroking the cat. A bad feeling rose in him. "I feel like, if they're pretty explicit..."
"Aren't we friends?" Luo Lianqing interrupted him, her expectant gaze settling on him.
Wen Ce: ... So the word 'friends' works for everything?
At the same time, he was a little curious about just how explicit "pretty explicit" was.
So he sighed. "Go ahead."
Luo Lianqing gave a satisfied smile. "Then I'll start, okay? Wen Ce, you're twenty-one, right~ This is a questionnaire about men's private matters. Don't worry, I'll keep it confidential."
She smiled at Wen Ce, looking utterly innocent. "What's your size?"
Wen Ce's bad feeling came true. He looked at Luo Lianqing expressionlessly. "I assume you're asking about my shirt or pants size?"
"No, I mean..." Luo Lianqing's gaze traveled downward and stopped at a certain part of him, her face flushing slightly. "I told you it was private..."
She added, "When you're rather excited..."
Wen Ce: ... Forget it. It feels like we aren't very suited to being friends.
He pushed up his glasses and smiled. "I just remembered, I probably left the gas on at home..."
"But don't all the apartments here use natural gas?" Luo Lianqing looked disappointed. "You don't want to? Then never mind. I'll find a chance next time..."
"Wait, you aren't planning to ask someone else these kinds of questions, are you?"
Wen Ce interrupted her. He didn't know whether she was genuinely innocent or stupid, and his gaze held some confusion as his brows knitted.
Luo Lianqing froze briefly at his interruption. "Well, this questionnaire does need to be done, because my father's company needs it. Um, just to learn a little about this stuff..."
What Luo Lianqing didn't say was that, of course, she didn't have to do it herself. The company had employees for these things. It wasn't her turn.
As for why she was sitting here now, asking Wen Ce this question, of course it was because... she was doing it on purpose.
But none of that showed on her face. She simply looked at Wen Ce earnestly.
Wen Ce was a little speechless. What decent family's daughter dragged someone into surveys like this?
But looking at the innocent-faced Luo Lianqing, he felt a breath stuck in his chest, unable to go up or down.
After taking a deep breath, he said, "Skip the first question. I've never measured."
Luo Lianqing let out an "Oh," looking somewhat disappointed. "Then measure it sometime when you have the chance."
Under Wen Ce's speechless gaze, she skipped to the second question. "Which part of the opposite sex gives you s*xual urges when you see it?"
Wen Ce: ...
"Legs."
"Hmm? Just legs?"
"Waists and breasts, too." Wen Ce exhaled, telling himself this was just an ordinary questionnaire.
He was simply cooperating with his newly acquainted "friend."
Wen Ce's somewhat suspicious gaze landed on Luo Lianqing. Was she doing this intentionally or unintentionally?
But watching her type with such a serious expression, he couldn't quite tell.
To Wen Ce, Luo Lianqing's behavior seemed more like deliberate teasing.
Then he thought that perhaps he was being too average yet confident. Was this just a questionnaire?
Did she see him as a friend?
"Third question. Do you experience any particular feelings when you see special types of clothing? For example, erotic lingerie and things like that."
"...Yes."
"What's your preference?"
"...Flight attendant uniforms, I suppose."
"Do you have a particular preference for black stockings, white stockings, or any other types?"
"...Any are fine."
Throughout the questionnaire, Luo Lianqing asked her questions very seriously, without displaying any unusual emotions.
From his initial suspicion, Wen Ce gradually began treating this as an ordinary questionnaire, too.
There weren't many questions, only twenty.
After typing the last word, Luo Lianqing finally let out a relieved breath.
She looked up at Wen Ce and found him watching her expressionlessly while his hand gently stroked the cat.
Egg Yolk, sprawled on his lap, was already so comfortable he had started snoring.
Luo Lianqing's gaze swept over Egg Yolk with a little envy. Being a cat was better after all. There was nothing to think about.
Finally, she looked at Wen Ce and asked one last question. "Can I ask one final question?"
Wen Ce had already gone numb, moving from his initial suspicion to his present certainty.
This senior before him, who fit his aesthetic tastes so well, simply saw him as a questionnaire tool, from the size at the beginning to the frequency and duration at the end.
Although Wen Ce was somewhat withdrawn and socially anxious, by now he had forgotten what being withdrawn or socially anxious even meant.
"Go ahead." He looked at Luo Lianqing and sighed, then asked a question first. "Are you this direct with all your male friends? Especially since we only just became friends, right?"
"Huh?" Luo Lianqing froze for a moment, as though his question had stumped her. She frowned at Wen Ce and said very seriously, "I don't know how to answer that, because I don't have any male friends. You're the first. Is this moving a little fast?"
That answer left Wen Ce stunned instead. "You don't have any male friends?"
Luo Lianqing lowered her eyes, no longer looking at Wen Ce. Now she watched the cat on his lap. "Do you know why I bought Egg Yolk back then? Because I'm like Egg Yolk..."
She gave Wen Ce a radiant smile. "I used to really dislike the opposite sex getting close to me, too. Of course, it's a little better now, but I really don't have any male friends. You're the first."
Wen Ce looked at her radiant smile. Though she was smiling, her face was a little pale.
"Why?"
