The gray-robed old man looked at the jade slips and ancient books on the table. He merely swept them with a glance, his expression as still as an ancient well.
"Those items of yours are all free. Come forward," he said, looking at Li Yan.
Li Yan stepped forward and stood there respectfully. The gray-robed elder picked up a jade slip that flickered with faint green light, while his other hand swiftly brushed across it. A speck of green radiance shot out from the slip and streaked toward Li Yan's forehead.
Li Yan only saw that speck of green light rapidly expand before his eyes. Before he could react, it had already pierced into his forehead. In the next instant, he felt a chill there, yet he knew an imprint was being placed within him. He immediately turned his Divine Sense inward and saw a green point flickering in one corner of his sea of consciousness. Before his Divine Sense could withdraw, he felt another chill, then saw another flashing green point appear within his sea of consciousness.
After only a brief moment, Li Yan withdrew his Divine Sense from his sea of consciousness and saw that the gray-robed old man had stopped moving and was watching him.
"Done. The jade slips and ancient books you requested have all been sealed within your sea of consciousness. If you need them, simply touch that green point with your Divine Sense to learn some basic information. Then pierce the green point with your Divine Sense to view its contents. Since that is settled, you two may leave. This old man still needs his rest."
