Once Water Elemental Energy grew powerful enough, it might be difficult to overcome Samadhi True Fire, but the Hou could certainly withstand it for a while and would not be reduced to too miserable a state.
Caught unprepared, Ji Yuan could not kill the Hou through his own strength alone. Though the Immortal Binding Rope was wondrous, against a cultivator who had reached the True level, it was difficult for the rope to bind them to death.
