• Pei Qingyu returned to the Special Cases Unit and helped Xun Yin investigate Lin Zhou’s shooting, but his heart condition repeatedly forced Xun Yin to support and rescue him.
• Pei Qingyu and Xun Yin traced Lin Zhou’s suspicious restaurant visits and hidden tracker to Shi Qian, who trapped Pei Qingyu in a burning kitchen before police arrested him for drug trafficking.
• Pei Qingyu and Xun Yin used the tracker and a staged shooting mechanism to uncover Lin Zhou’s murder, then pursued Zhuo Wumian to the river, where Zhuo escaped after disclosing his drug dealings with Lin Zhou.

Pei Qingyu and Xun Yin uncovered Zhuo Wumian’s lethal underground gambling game and survived its roulette trials, but Pei Qingyu suffered a life-threatening heart injury. As he returned to the Special Case Team, Zhou Yang linked Zhu Qi to a new lead, and the team prepared to investigate the Zhu family’s banquet.
