"Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to Terra Island's annual Gourmet Festival!" The host's enthusiastic voice resounded throughout the venue through the Amplifying Tone Dial, "Today will be the ultimate feast for the taste buds, a pinnacle showdown of culinary skill and wisdom! The ultimate victor will receive unparalleled glory and taste the legendary— 'Dream Ingredient '!"
"Whoa whoa whoa--!" The crowd erupted in deafening cheers, with Luffy's shouts standing out the most.
The Straw Hat Pirates was all gathered, full of fighting spirit. Luffy was itching for a fight, Sanji was adjusting his tie, Zoro was checking his three swords (though he probably wouldn't need them), Nami was calculating the prize money, Chopper and Usopp were both nervous and excited, Franky, Brook, Jinbe were calm and collected, Robin was keenly observing her surroundings. Ace and Allen stood a little behind, one with a hearty smile but sharp eyes, the other calm and composed but seemingly all-knowing.
The host began explaining the rules. The festival wasn't a traditional arena competition, but rather a "free hunting and cooking" contest held within a designated area. The venue was a vast nature reserve behind the arena, known as the " Delicacy Forest." It was home to a variety of unique plants and animals, including many extremely rare and even dangerous ingredients. Contestants had to find the ingredients they needed within a set time and return to a designated cooking area at the edge of the forest to prepare their dishes. Judges would evaluate the dishes based on the rarity of the ingredients, the difficulty of preparation, the uniqueness of the creation, and the overall deliciousness of the final product.
"Therefore, I hereby declare the Gourmet Festival officially open!"
At a command, all the contestants shot off like arrows into the dense and mysterious " Delicacy Forest ".
Luffy ahead, his rubber arms constantly extending, grabbing at anything that looked delicious. "Meat! Where's the good meat!"
Sanji, on the other hand, had a clear objective; he had already identified several rare fungi and spices by their scent.
Zoro... Zoro seems to be lost, but he seems to have stumbled upon a source of energy (possibly a powerful beast).
Nami, Usopp, and Chopper team up and cautiously search for valuable and relatively safe ingredients.
Guided by the wooden sign, Franky and Brook seemed to have developed a sense of connection to a specific area.
Jinbe, relying on his Fish-Man's sense of water veins, found a hidden spring containing special water elements.
Using her abilities, Robin moved swiftly through the woods, searching for ancient plants that might be linked to historical records.
Ace and Allen didn't rush to find ingredients. Ace, with his powerful Observation Haki, vaguely sensed that more than just the " Glutton Gang's" malice lurked in the forest. Allen, on the other hand, perceived even more clearly that the leyline energy of the entire forest was being slowly and covertly extracted and distorted by some force, converging towards a certain location deep within the forest. The properties of that force were identical to those of " Gluttony " Balo, but far more profound and ancient.
"There was definitely a conspiracy," Ace muttered.
Allen nodded slightly, his gaze seemingly piercing through layers of dense forest, reaching the ominous ritual site forming deep within. "It's not just a conspiracy, it's more like a... sacrifice. Offering the 'life essence' of this forest and... the 'appetite and vitality' of the participants."
Just as most of the contestants were immersed in the excitement of finding ingredients, a sudden change occurred!
"Ah--!"
Terrified screams suddenly echoed throughout the forest. Some contestants inexplicably collapsed to the ground. Their bodies had not been directly attacked, but their faces quickly turned pale, and their eyes became vacant, as if some kind of energy had been forcibly drained from their bodies. At the same time, the ingredients they carried or had just gathered withered and lost their luster at a visible speed!
"It's the ' Glutton Gang '!" someone in the know shouted in horror, "They're using that evil ritual!"
A group of people dressed in " Glutton Gang " uniforms were seen moving swiftly through the forest, carrying strange containers that seemed to be guiding and collecting the extracted energy. Meanwhile, deep within the forest, the twisted, devouring force grew stronger and stronger!
"That bastard Balo!" Sanji kicked away a member of the " Glutton Gang " who was trying to approach their gathering point, his face grim.
Luffy stopped chasing his prey and looked at the fallen contestants and withered plants around him, a rare expression of anger appearing on his face. "How dare they destroy such delicious food and the forest! Unforgivable!"
"It seems our 'ingredient' list needs an update," Allen said calmly, a cold golden glint flashing in his eyes. "Our primary objective is now—hunting down the ' Glutton Gang ' and destroying the ritual."
The Gourmet Festival instantly transformed from a culinary competition into a battleground of good versus evil, protection versus plunder! The Straw Hat Pirates once again stepped forward, for their friends, for the food, and for the survival of this forest!
