The Thousand Sunny sailed smoothly on the vast blue sea, the sea breeze carrying a salty scent, seagulls crying in the sky, a scene of tranquility and peace. Having left the vibrant Ambra Island, the group was still savoring the sweet fruits and bounty of the island.
A few days later, one evening, Usopp, who was on lookout duty, let out an unusual exclamation:
"An island spotted ahead! Wait... what's that? So many chimneys! They're smoking!"
The group gathered at the bow of the ship, where the outline of an island appeared on the horizon. In stark contrast to the pristine nature of Ambra Island, this island was dotted with countless towering chimneys, spewing thick smoke that shrouded the sky in a hazy gray. Even from a distance, the muffled roar of machinery could be faintly heard. The island's coastline lacked beaches and forests, instead featuring sturdy concrete piers and massive cranes.
The Log Pose steadily points to this industrial island.
"Wow! That looks amazing!" Luffy craned his neck, full of interest in anything new and interesting. "What are those houses that smoke?"
"It's a factory, isn't it?" Nami frowned slightly as she looked at the sea chart. "According to the chart, this should be ' Wapol Island,' known as the ' Land of Steel and Gears,' famous for its advanced machinery industry and weapons manufacturing. It's said that its ruler is a king who places great emphasis on 'efficiency' and 'order.'"
Usopp was a little worried. "It sounds like a very serious place. Won't they be unwelcoming to pirates?"
Chopper hid behind Zoro: "Mechanical... it feels so cold."
Zoro yawned. "As long as I don't get lost in this steel jungle again." (A new flag appears!)
Sanji lit a cigarette. "I wonder what the food is like here. I hope we're not eating engine oil."
Robin, on the other hand, became interested in the possible remains of an ancient mechanical civilization on the island.
Franky was so excited his whole body was rattling. "Super!!! The Land of Machines! This must be fate! I'm going to learn advanced technology!"
Brook wondered if she could compose a warm piece of music for the cold, mechanical world.
Jinbe calmly observed the island's structure. "Such a concentrated industrial area will likely have a significant impact on the ecology of the surrounding waters."
Ace stared at the thick smoke, a flicker of flame dancing at his fingertips. "It doesn't seem to fit my abilities very well."
Allen's senses spread like invisible ripples, and his brow furrowed slightly. The island felt very... "hard" and "uniform" to him. It wasn't just the physical steel structure; even the "life magnetic field" of most of the life on the island seemed rigid and lacked natural vitality, as if bound by some invisible framework. The air was filled with the scent of metal, fuel, and an... indescribable, strictly "planned" atmosphere.
The Thousand Sunny slowly entered the port of Wapol Island. The port was bustling with activity. Huge cargo ships were loading and unloading containers, small transport boats shuttled back and forth, and workers in uniforms were everywhere, hurrying along with blank expressions. Tall loudspeakers played monotonous slogans on a loop, all about "production efficiency," "obeying orders," and "for the glory of Wapol."
As soon as they reached the shore, a squad of soldiers in black uniforms, wearing gear badges and carrying strange firearms (which appeared to be some kind of energy weapon) marched over in perfect unison. The officer at the head of the squad, expressionless, shouted through a megaphone:
"Foreign vessels! State your identity and purpose! Undergo inspection! Comply with all rules and regulations of Wapol! Any violation will be severely punished!"
The atmosphere instantly became serious and oppressive.
Nami quickly stepped forward, flashing a diplomatic smile, "We are the Straw Hat Pirates, just following the Log Pose to replenish some fresh water and supplies. We mean no harm."
Luffy, hands on hips. "We're here for an adventure!"
The officer's cold gaze swept over the Straw Hat Pirates flag, then over the strangely dressed crowd, lingering for a moment on Franky, the cyborg, Brook, the skeleton, before finally settling on the extraordinary Allen and Ace.
"Pirates..." the officer's voice was flat. "You may enter the port. But be warned: in Wapol, all actions must comply with the Efficiency Code! No loud noises, no unauthorized loitering, no unnecessary communication with residents, no photography, and no entering restricted areas! Your actions will be monitored! Violation of any of these rules will result in immediate arrest!"
After he finished speaking, he gestured for his men to make way, but the soldiers' cold gazes remained fixed on them.
Stepping onto the land of Wapol Island, the ground beneath my feet is hard alloy, and the air is filled with the smell of machine oil and metal friction. The streets are lined with uniform, unremarkable gray buildings, and most pedestrians walk briskly with their heads down, rarely exchanging words. The whole city seems to be a huge, precise but cold machine in operation.
"It feels so oppressive here," Chopper whispered.
Usopp swallowed hard. "It's stricter than I expected."
Robin said softly, "Extreme order can sometimes stifle life."
Franky, however, felt right at home, excitedly observing the surrounding machinery. "Superb industrial aesthetics!"
Allen surveyed this land, bound by steel and rules, his gaze deep. The island's "order" seemed not to stem from inner conviction, but rather from a forced, external constraint. Beneath this cold steel shell, he vaguely sensed a suppressed unease, surging like subterranean fire.
A new adventure has quietly begun in this land filled with the roar of machinery and strict rules. This time, they may not be facing the wrath of nature or an ancient curse, but rather... the clash between rigid order and humanity!
