After the Thousand Sunny sailed away from the Harmony Island, the surrounding environment gradually became harsh. The sky was no longer a clear blue, but covered with a layer of leaden gray haze. The sea breeze became fierce and dry, carrying a rough feeling like sulfur and metal rubbing together. The waves were no longer regular undulations, but like angry beasts, constantly raising mountain-like waves and slamming them against the hull.
"Attention! The ocean currents ahead are turbulent, and the wind is picking up!" Nami gripped the helm tightly and shouted a warning, her navigation skills proving somewhat challenging in these turbulent waters.
Jinbe provided full assistance in controlling the ship, using his Fish-Man's extraordinary sense of water currents to find a relatively safe path through the raging waves.
"Wow! This sea is too fierce!" Usopp clung tightly to the mast, feeling like his bile was about to come out.
"Oh... how scary..." Chopper shrunk to a tiny size and crawled into Usopp's backpack.
Even Luffy had to stretch out his arms and wrap them around the ship to secure himself, his rubber face beaming with excitement. "Oh! What huge waves! It's like riding a roller coaster!"
Zoro and Sanji stood guard on either side of the ship's railing, watching out for any dangers that might come from the waves.
Franky activated the ship's stabilizing mechanisms, but even that proved somewhat inadequate in the face of nature's power.
Brook's bones cracked and popped as he shook. "Hohoho~ Even my skeleton is about to break!"
Robin calmly observed the shapes of the waves and the changes in the sky, trying to find patterns.
The flame in Ace's hand flickered erratically in the gale. He frowned, clearly disliking the oppressive environment.
Allen stood at the bow of the ship, letting the gale whip his clothes around his neck. His senses penetrated deep into this raging sea. The energy here was not chaotic and disordered (like at Shattered Cape ), but rather filled with extreme oppression and a sense of "forging," as if the entire environment were a giant furnace, rejecting all weakness.
A few days later, the outline of an island appeared and disappeared amidst the swirling sea mist and crashing waves. It was not a lush Paradise, but a jagged island, primarily composed of dark brown and black rocks, as if cleaved by a giant axe. Steep cliffs lined its edges, where waves crashed with a thunderous roar, sending up clouds of white foam. Above the island, persistent, low-hanging, lightning-streaked clouds swirled.
The Log Pose was fixed on the island that lay sprawled across the sea like a primordial behemoth— Warrior Cape, Rogrim.
"That's... the Island of Trials?" Usopp's voice was filled with despair.
"This looks... super exciting!" Franky was even more excited.
"Even the air feels heavier." Zoro gripped the hilt of his sword tightly, his fighting spirit rising.
Sanji lit a cigarette, his eyes sharp. "I hope the ingredients here are worthy of this environment."
With the combined efforts of Jinbe and Nami, the Thousand Sunny managed to find a relatively secluded, narrow harbor nestled between two massive sea stacks to dock. The waves were slightly calmer in the harbor, but the heavy, oppressive feeling in the air was even more pronounced.
The group stepped onto the hard, rough ground of Rogrim, feeling its solid texture beneath their feet. The air was thick with ozone, rock dust, and a scent that seemed to have been soaked in countless drops of sweat.
The port was so rudimentary it was practically nonexistent, consisting of only a few ancient, weathered stone piers. In the distance, one could see people dressed in simple leather armor or simply bare-chested, their muscles bulging, their eyes sharp as eagles. They were either undergoing superhuman weight training, honing their martial arts skills against the raging waves at the edge of a cliff, or even leaping directly into the turbulent waters to fight the currents! No one paid much attention to the Straw Hat Pirates's arrival; it was as if outsiders were the norm here.
A tall, muscular man with bronze skin and several hideous scars on his face, looking like he was sculpted from rock, strode over carrying a huge battle axe that appeared to be carved from the bones of some kind of deep-sea monster. His gaze, almost tangible, swept over the Straw Hat Pirates, lingering for a moment on Zoro, Ace, and Allen, in particular.
"Newcomers?" The burly man's voice was like two rocks rubbing together. "I am ' Steel Breaker ' Bal, one of the Guide of Rogrim. Whatever your reason for being here, remember the rules here:"
He held up three thick fingers:
"First, strength reigns supreme. Power is respected here, whether physical, mental, or a special ability."
"Second, you are responsible for your own life and death. The trials, dangers, and even the battles between you on the island can be fatal. No one will be responsible for your weakness."
"Third, ascend to the summit of ' Unyielding Peak.' It is the symbol of Rogrim and proof of the strongest. The one who reaches the summit has the right to challenge the 'Peak Lord,' or... receive the answer to a question."
His gaze swept over the crowd again, carrying a hint of barely perceptible provocation:
"If you're just here for sightseeing, or can't handle the 'weight' here, you'd better turn around and leave now. Rogrim doesn't welcome cowards."
A new challenge, presented to the Straw Hat Pirates in the most direct and brutal way, has arrived!
