Guided by Cruiser-073 —who could perhaps now be called " Ancient Law Faction Observer-073 " —Ark Maxim finally sailed away from that turbulent Information Turbulence Zone and arrived at a relatively calm "stable node." This was a special space composed of several long-extinguished but unusually stable white dwarf stars and highly ordered stardust belts, like an isolated island in a raging ocean.
The spacecraft anchored in a gravity-depleted area marked as a "safe anchor point," where repairs to the damaged systems and the crew's mental recovery began. The silver-white spacecraft of Cruiser-073 hovered synchronously at a slightly greater distance, like a silent silver sentinel.
The atmosphere in the bridge conference room was somewhat heavy. The attack by the Chaos Aggregate and the shock of information contamination left everyone with lingering fears. Usopp and Chopper were being examined and comforted by Chopper (Doctor Mode) in the infirmary, while the others gathered here to analyze their recent experiences and the future.
"That ' Chaos Aggregate '..." Franky pulled up the combat log data, his brow furrowed, "Its composition is too bizarre. There are at least twelve different types of armor fragments, more than seven types of biological tissue characteristics, twenty-three types of incompatible energy circuit remnants... and the ability to 'grow' and 'evolve' within the turbulent flow of rules—it's practically a cosmic-level 'garbage dump come to life'!"
"More than just a junkyard." W7's V-shaped light band glowed steadily. "The key is the trace amount of ' Concept Erosion ' contamination residue detected. It may have acted as a 'glue' and 'catalyst,' causing 'cosmic debris' that should have been mutually exclusive, even with different physical rules, to undergo 'forced fusion' and 'distorted evolution' in an extreme environment like information turbulence, which we cannot understand. It is a completely new form of threat, proving that 'contamination' can not only directly destroy, but may also lead to unpredictable... 'mutations.'"
"And that Cruiser-073..." Zoro leaned against the wall with his arms crossed, his eyes sharp, "The last move she used wasn't an ordinary attack. I could feel that it wasn't 'severing' an object, but rather... negating the monster's 'existence' itself. Like erasing a pencil drawing with an eraser."
"It's interference at the 'rule level'," Robin said in a deep voice. "She mentioned ' Blade of Order: Severance,' which is likely a 'conceptual weapon' capable of Definition or modifying the rules of reality in certain areas. This power... has already exceeded the scope of combat as we usually understand it. The strength of the ' Blade of Order ' is unfathomable, especially the ' Ancient Law Faction ' within them, who possess such a dangerous thing yet claim to be 'guardians of order.'"
"But she did save us after all." Sanji lit a cigarette. "And she seems to have some kind of... 'interest,' or rather, 'responsibility' towards us, especially Allen and W7? The Ancient Law Faction philosophy sounds gentler than simple control."
" Observer-073 has provided new route information, pointing to a stable anomaly deep within the turbulent zone, marked as the ' Terminal Navigation Beacon.'" Nami pulled up the updated star map. "According to her explanation, that ' Terminal Navigation Beacon ' is the last observable, relatively stable spatial 'lighthouse' known to lead to your world's coordinates—that is, the direction of Laugh Tale. Beyond the 'beacon' lies the completely unknown ' Lost Beacon Zone,' which even the ' Blade of Order ' database only vaguely records. Our final coordinates are at the deepest part of that ' Beacon Zone.'"
She pointed to the area marked as dark and filled with distorted lines on the star map. "According to the estimated travel distance, after passing the ' Terminal Navigation Beacon,' it will take approximately three more short space jumps to reach the vicinity of the target coordinates. However, the ' Blade of Order's' database is vague in its description of the ' Beacon Zone,' only mentioning that it has 'extremely high levels of rule distortion,' 'fragile spatiotemporal continuity,' and 'possible traces of interference from ancient civilizations.' The danger... cannot be accurately assessed."
"So, in other words, we didn't even figure out this seemingly powerful ' Blade of Order ' for the last part of the journey?" Luffy scratched his head. "Isn't that even more exciting?!"
"It could be even more dangerous now," Jinbe said seriously. "Even a civilization that has mastered weapons of the rules hasn't been able to fully explore it; what's hidden there is probably no small matter."
Allen listened quietly until he spoke, then asked, "W7, what do you know about the ' Terminal Navigation Beacon ' and the ' Lost Beacon Zone '? Is it in your memory, or from the perspective of your civilization?"
The V-shaped light band on W7 flickered slightly, seemingly searching for fragments of memory deep within. "' Terminal Navigation Beacon '... this name has no direct equivalent in my database. But considering its description—the last stable beacon leading to the unknown Beacon Zone —and the information the ' Ancient Law Faction ' might know... I have a hypothesis."
It retrieved an extremely ancient and stylistically different star map projection and compared it with the current star map. "In the final research of my home civilization, they hypothesized that different 'cosmic bubbles' or 'dimensional layers' are not completely isolated, but rather possess natural or constructed 'weak connection points' or 'directional channels.' These connection points might be called 'stargates,' 'ruins,' or 'roots of the world tree' in some civilizations... And in theories involving the exile of civilizational Spark and ' Beacon ' projections, such points are sometimes used as 'navigational markers,' guiding Spark across dimensional barriers to reach 'mirror' or 'backup' worlds."
W7's projection points to the location of the " Terminal Navigation Beacon " on the star map. "This is very likely a 'natural connection point' or 'ancient creation' like this. And the ' Lost Beacon Zone ' may be the other end of the connection point, a 'transitional region' or 'buffer zone' with vastly different rules, highly distorted by the long-term influence of the ' Beacon ' energy. Laugh Tale, as the core of the ' Beacon's' evolution, is located at the deepest part of this region."
"So, only after passing through the 'beacon' can we truly leave the regular area of this current 'main universe' and enter a special space shaped by the power of the ' Beacon ' that is more closely connected to our home world?" Robin concluded.
"The probability is over 78%." W7 confirmed.
"So, Cruiser-073... or rather, the ' Ancient Law Faction,' how much do they know?" Allen looked out the porthole at the silver-white spaceship.
As if they had overheard their discussion, the internal communications suddenly lit up, and the image of the Cruiser-073 appeared directly—this time it wasn't a request, but a direct access.
"Based on your ' Ancient Law Faction ' observer privileges and the fact that you have already accessed information related to ' Terminal Navigation Beacon,' we are now conducting necessary intelligence synchronization." Her voice remained calm and direct as her data-driven gaze swept over the crowd.
"First, the ' Terminal Navigation Beacon ' is indeed Stability Anchor left behind by an ancient, unknown civilization, and its construction technology exceeds the current analytical capabilities of the ' Blade of Order.' The ' Blade of Order ' has been monitoring its stability for a long time and has confirmed that it is still safe to pass through. However, the ' Lost Beacon Zone ' it points to cannot be conventionally detected and mapped due to rule distortion and ' Beacon ' energy interference. Known information is limited."
"Secondly, within the ' Lost Beacon Zone,' in addition to rule distortion, at least three types of 'residual phenomena' have been confirmed: A. 'Rule wonders' formed by the natural evolution of 'Beacon ' energy (such as special force fields or matter transformation zones); B. 'Relics' or 'automated facilities' left by ancient civilizations to maintain the ' Beacon ' or study its properties (status unknown); C. 'Abnormal life forms' or 'conceptual echoes' attracted or trapped in this area by the ' Beacon ' energy (various levels of danger)."
"Third, and most importantly," the data stream from Cruiser-073 seemed to focus even more intently, "Based on the ' Ancient Law Faction's' research on the Ancient Covenant and the ' Spark ' theory, combined with the preliminary analysis of the ' Star Core Mark ' of W7 unit and Allen individual, we speculate that the ' Laugh Tale ' you are searching for is very likely the original landing point and core information database of the ' Beacon.' Reaching there may not only unlock the ultimate secrets of your world, but may also touch upon the original encoding of the ' Beacon ' itself, and even... trigger a deep resonance between the ' Beacon ' and the ' Sea of Origin Mirror.'"
"This deep resonance could have two outcomes: First, it could open a 'stable path' for you to return to your home world. Second, it could release certain 'ultimate information' or 'unfinished agreements' that may be sealed within the ' Beacon ' from its creator civilization. The latter could bring unpredictable variables, and might even attract the attention of other factions within the ' Blade of Order,' or even... the ' Ultimate Pollution ' side."
Her words were like ice water, pouring cold water on everyone's hearts. The hope of returning home was within reach, but the risks that accompanied it were beyond imagination.
"You... want to stop us?" Luffy asked warily.
"No." The answer from Cruiser-073 was unexpected. "The ' Ancient Law Faction ' believes that the growth and selection of the ' Spark ' is itself a manifestation of the universe's 'possibility,' a crucial variable in Resistance ' Ultimate Void.' Forcibly suppressing or excessively intervening may backfire. Our duty is to 'observe,' 'record,' and, when necessary, provide 'limited guidance' and 'risk warnings' based on the spirit of the ' Ancient Covenant.'"
She looked at Allen: "As an observer, I will escort you to the ' Terminal Navigation Beacon ' and provide as much information as possible about the ' Beacon Zone '. However, once inside the ' Beacon Zone,' due to rule interference and the internal regulations of the ' Blade of Order,' I will be unable to follow you directly. You will face the final journey independently."
"Of course," she added, her tone seemingly softening with a barely perceptible, almost "human" shift, "Based on my personal logical judgment and initial recognition of your 'variable traits,' I will, within my authority, conduct a comprehensive ' Order Calibration ' and 'rule resistance enhancement' for your spaceship to increase your survival and adaptability in an alienated rule environment. This is not unconditional aid, but rather an 'investment' by the ' Ancient Law Faction ' in 'high-potential Spark.'"
"Investment?" Nami keenly caught the word.
"Yes. If you can successfully reach ' Laugh Tale,' unravel its secrets, and return safely, the information, experiences, and the final state of the ' Spark ' that you bring back will have extremely high research value for the ' Ancient Law Faction ' in perfecting Spark Theory ' Beacon ' and understanding the antagonistic relationship between the ' Sea of Origin ' and ' Ultimate Pollution,'" Cruiser-073 stated bluntly. "At the same time, a 'new civilization' that has successfully grown under the threat of 'Pollution' and may have mastered some 'Beacon' permissions might become... a worthy 'ally' or 'variable' in the potentially larger-scale conflict between 'Order' and ' Chaos ' in the future."
She spoke realistically and directly. There was no feigned goodwill, only considerations based on logic and self-interest, but it also contained a trace of respect and expectation for "possibilities."
"We accept." Allen almost without hesitation. He knew that in the final stages of their return journey, any assistance that would strengthen their side was crucial. Moreover, the Cruiser-073 (or rather, the Ancient Law Faction behind her) was, at least so far, the most "rule-abiding" and less radical powerful force they had encountered.
"A wise choice." Cruiser-073 nodded slightly (data level). "' Order Calibration ' will be conducted after you have finished resting, and is expected to take twelve standard hours. During this time, please grant external access to some non-core systems of the ship. After calibration is complete, we will set off for ' Terminal Navigation Beacon '."
Communication ended.
"It feels like... making a deal with a very intelligent, but rather impersonal, supercomputer," Usopp muttered to himself.
"But at least, she and the ' Ancient Law Faction ' behind her seem willing to reason and value long-term interests," Robin analyzed. "They're much better than those forces that only think about control or destruction. Moreover, her attitude towards ' Spark ' and 'Possibility' is advantageous to us."
Over the next period, the silver-white spaceship of Cruiser-073 conducted a deep data docking with Ark Maxim. Streams of soft silver energy, like surgical lights, scanned and permeated the underlying logic of Ark Maxim's hull structure, energy circuits, and even parts of its life support system. Franky monitored the entire process, frequently exclaiming "SUPER~ Ingenious!" This "calibration" based on a high-dimensional understanding of rules opened his eyes.
After calibration, the appearance of the Ark Maxim did not change much, but everyone could feel that the spaceship had an indescribable "smoothness" and "stability" when it was running, as if it had a stronger resistance to the chaotic spatial rules around it. W7 also underwent a similar " Psionic Energy circuit optimization", and its energy output efficiency and self-repair ability were slightly improved.
After rest and recuperation, the two spaceships set off again.
This time, with the full guidance and precise coordinates provided by the Cruiser-073, the journey became exceptionally smooth. They followed a hidden passage concealed within turbulent folds, avoiding countless dangerous energy vortexes and spacetime traps, finally arriving at the crucial point of their trip—
Terminal Navigation Beacon.
It was not a massive building or celestial body.
Rather, it is the embodiment of a "concept".
Against the backdrop of the vast universe, a circular region of absolute darkness, seemingly devoured even by light, floats silently. Its boundaries are as clear as if cut by the sharpest knife; its interior is pure Void, devoid of any stars, dust, or energy. Yet, at the very center of this Void floats a tiny "point," radiating a constant, soft, milky-white light.
That "point" has no volume or mass; it seems to be merely a "marker" or an "indicator." Yet, the light it emits contains an indescribable sense of "order" and "stability," incongruous with the surrounding turbulent cosmic background, yet it miraculously exists, undisturbed by anything.
"That is... the ' Terminal Navigation Beacon '," came the voice of Cruiser-073. "An absolute coordinate anchored between reality and the ' Beacon Zone.' Pass through that dark area, touch that 'point of light,' and you will be guided by the power of the 'Beacon' into the ' Lost Beacon Zone.' ' Order Calibration ' has loaded the necessary access keys and rule adaptation buffers for your ship."
She paused for a moment, and the data eye seemed to give Ark Maxim a deep look.
"Ahead lies the unknown, one that even the ' Blade of Order ' cannot fully fathom. Based on the ' Ancient Law Faction ' observer agreement and my own logical deduction, I offer three final suggestions:"
"First, trust your 'bonds' and 'wills.' In an environment where rules have become distorted, they are more reliable 'anchors' than any technology."
"Second, be wary of the 'automatic defense mechanisms' or 'information filtering protocols' that the ' Beacon ' may have. It may test or hinder you in ways you don't expect."
"Third, remember, ' Laugh Tale ' is not just a destination. It itself may be the final 'test' or 'legacy' left by the ' Beacon ' for its successors."
"I wish you a safe voyage."
"If you successfully return to this coordinate point, the ' Ancient Law Faction ' communication channel will remain silent. We look forward to hearing... a different 'story'."
After speaking, the silver-white spaceship retreated, maintaining a safe distance, like a lighthouse bidding farewell to voyages.
Inside the Ark Maxim, the group did a final check of all the systems, exchanging glances filled with determination and excitement for the unknown.
"Alright, guys!" Luffy stood at the bow of the ship, pointing to the darkness and the points of light within it, "The last stretch! Charge!"
"Target— the Terminal Navigation Beacon! Full speed ahead!" Allen ordered.
Franky pushed the control stick, and the Ark Maxim's star-powered reactor emitted a deep and powerful hum. The bow was aimed at that absolute darkness, and it resolutely sailed into it.
Darkness instantly engulfed the spaceship. There was no starlight, no sound, only the milky-white dot on the navigation screen, burning eternally in absolute Void, like an inextinguishable lamp at the end of the road home...
A guiding light.
