Ace and the Whitebeard Pirates accepted the Four Emperors Alliance’s banquet invitation, despite Ace’s fears for Whitebeard. Four days later, the Alliance’s open recruitment brought pirate crews flocking to Whole Cake Island, swelling its ranks to a reported hundred thousand.

• Whitebeard said he would attend the banquet, viewing the invitation as a challenge to the Whitebeard Pirates’ dignity and daring Charlotte Linlin and Kaido to attack.
• Ace and Jozu pledged to fight alongside Whitebeard, and Ace said Bai Yu had promised to send the Alliance a big gift but had not confirmed whether he would attend.
