Ch. 181Ninjas Were Different from Ordinary People

Suzume explained that the ninja gathered outside Konoha Hospital were already infected and would eventually transform, while Hiruzen Sarutobi warned that they could not return home without spreading the virus. She revealed that powerful infected ninja had become monsters inside the hospital, making a rescue attempt dangerous, and left the gathered ninja facing the threat within.

  • Suzume told the assembled ninja that the virus would cause worsening symptoms and eventual transformation, and Hiruzen Sarutobi stopped them from leaving to avoid infecting Konoha.
  • Jonin Nara asked why the current Anbu had not shown symptoms, and Suzume explained that the first Anbu defenders had fallen unconscious and transformed before the second group arrived.
  • Hiruzen Sarutobi asked how they could deal with the monsters inside Konoha Hospital, and Suzume recounted her failed attempt to reach Tsunade and White Fang in the third basement level.
  • Suzume explained that infected ninja had become unusually dangerous monsters capable of using abilities resembling ninjutsu, despite lacking chakra fluctuations.
  • Suzume pointed to Shin'un and warned that if Lord Hirakawa transformed, he could wield powerful Lightning Release abilities and move at lightning speed.

Ch. 182The Bloody Square

Hiruzen Sarutobi and Shin'un entered Konoha Hospital's third basement to find Tsunade and White Fang after White Fang's chakra could no longer be sensed. They encountered a square filled with powerful humanoid monsters and prepared to fight their way toward Tsunade's isolation room.

  • Suzume told Hiruzen Sarutobi that Tsunade had been inside Konoha Hospital for at least thirteen hours and White Fang for eight.
  • An Anbu sensor reported that Tsunade's chakra was unusually strong but that he could no longer sense White Fang's chakra.
  • Hiruzen Sarutobi ordered the ninja outside the hospital to burn the monsters at the entrance while he and Shin'un searched the third basement for Tsunade and White Fang.
  • Shin'un and Hiruzen Sarutobi entered the blood-soaked basement square, where a lightning spear killed one monster and alerted the others.
  • The monsters charged Shin'un, and Hiruzen Sarutobi recognized some as using techniques resembling Water, Wind, and Lightning Release despite lacking chakra.
  • Shin'un charged himself with electricity and urged Hiruzen Sarutobi to reach Tsunade's isolation room first.

Ch. 183Hiruzen Sarutobi's Rock Armor

Hiruzen Sarutobi and Shin'un fought their way through the monsters in Konoha Hospital while searching for Tsunade. Shin'un spotted a monster using the Nara Clan's Shadow Imitation Technique as the battle continued.

  • Hiruzen Sarutobi used Earth Release: Rock Armor and Earth Release: Rock Thief Stick to shield himself and Shin'un and crush the charging monsters.
  • Hiruzen Sarutobi admitted he had not fought in over a decade, then tore free a stone pillar and charged into the horde.
  • Shin'un used Lightning Release: Lightning Snake to clear monsters from his path and destroyed one that attacked him from underground.
  • Shin'un avoided a shadow tendril that tried to control him and traced it to a sneaky-looking monster in the horde.

Ch. 184Meeting Tsunade

Shin'un and Hiruzen Sarutobi fought their way through the monsters on Konoha Hospital’s third underground level and reached Tsunade’s isolation room. When they opened it, a powerful attacker struck Hiruzen, and Shin'un recognized the figure emerging from the darkness as Tsunade, whose face now had several extra pairs of eyes.

  • Shin'un discovered that the monsters retained their ninjutsu and had enhanced physical abilities, then used lightning techniques to defeat the swarming creatures.
  • Hiruzen Sarutobi crushed and burned the monsters around him with Earth Release and Fire Style.
  • After clearing the third underground level, Shin'un and Hiruzen found a blood-written warning on Tsunade’s isolation room door and decided to enter.
  • As the door opened, an unseen force blasted Hiruzen Sarutobi across the underground level while Shin'un retreated with Lightning Body Flicker.
  • Shin'un saw Tsunade emerge from the room with several extra pairs of eyes on her face and called her name.

Ch. 185Terrifying Monsters

Shin'un found that Tsunade and Hatake Sakumo had become monsters in Konoha Hospital’s underground levels and fought to survive their attacks. As the battle shook the building, the hospital began to collapse, alarming Suzume and the ninja outside.

  • Shin'un realized Tsunade had transformed into a monster and suspected the virus had infected her long before he arrived.
  • Hatake Sakumo emerged from the special isolation room as a monster and attacked Shin'un with a powerful slash.
  • Tsunade charged Shin'un, but Hiruzen Sarutobi raised an Earth Release rampart to help him escape her punch.
  • Shin'un cut through Hatake Sakumo’s bone blade with Lightning Release, then dodged Tsunade’s next attack as the underground battle damaged the hospital.
  • Suzume learned that Hiruzen Sarutobi and Lord Hirakawa were fighting someone underground, then saw Konoha Hospital beginning to collapse.

Ch. 186An isolating barrier

Suzume ordered an isolating barrier around Konoha Hospital to contain the infection while Hirakawa Shin'un fought underground. After a massive lightning technique exposed the ruins, Shin'un emerged wounded and Tsunade attacked him as a monster.

  • Suzume concluded that the fighters at Konoha Hospital might be infected and decided to keep the virus from spreading rather than send a rescue team.
  • Suzume sent an Anbu ninja to find Lord Orochimaru and request a barrier around the hospital and everything within a thousand meters.
  • An Anbu sensor reported that Lord Third and Hirakawa Shin'un were stable underground, but Shin'un's chakra began fluctuating violently.
  • A tremendous lightning pillar erupted from the hospital ruins, opening a hole through the clouds and revealing a deep pit underground.
  • Suzume saw the bloodied Hirakawa Shin'un kneeling at the pit's edge as Tsunade leaped out and attacked him, confirming her fear that Tsunade had become a monster.

Ch. 187Dazed

After Tsunade regenerated from Lightning Pillar’s devastating blast, Shin'un’s injuries and the virus began impairing his senses and mind. As Tsunade tore into him, he finished forming one-handed seals and unleashed another Lightning Pillar at her forehead.

  • Shin'un bound his severed arm, treated his wounds, and decided to find someone else to finish off Tsunade and White Fang.
  • Tsunade emerged from the crater with half her body missing, but rapidly regenerated and attacked Shin'un.
  • Shin'un dodged Tsunade’s blows, then realized his fading pain and hazy mind signaled that the virus was taking control.
  • As Tsunade knocked him down and began eating his flesh, Shin'un completed hand seals and fired Lightning Release: Lightning Pillar at her forehead.

Ch. 188Monster

After Hirakawa Shin'un and Tsunade seemingly killed each other, Shin'un transformed into a powerful lightning monster. As it attacked Konoha’s defenders, it raced toward Suzume and reached for her head.

  • Suzume ordered an Anbu to inspect Shin'un, learned he appeared dead, and told them to destroy his remains before he transformed.
  • Shin'un’s corpse erupted with electricity and transformed into an armored monster, then used its speed to evade an Anbu’s Fire Release attack.
  • Fugaku Uchiha warned Suzume that Shin'un’s speed made him difficult to stop, and Suzume ordered the defenders to hold out while Orochimaru completed the barrier within an hour.
  • Shin'un fired a massive lightning pillar through Konoha’s wall and into the evacuated outskirts, causing no casualties among the defenders.
  • Shin'un charged toward Suzume and reached for her head with a clawed hand.

Ch. 189Boundless darkness and emptiness

Suzume and Fugaku Uchiha hesitated to kill the frozen Hirakawa Shin'un after the Hyuga clan head detected his original chakra signature, suggesting he had regained his reason. Elsewhere, Shin'un regained consciousness in a boundless dark space, noticed a faint light, and then found himself glowing.

  • Hirakawa Shin'un's attack stopped just before it struck Suzume, leaving him frozen in place.
  • Fugaku Uchiha explained that his genjutsu could not have immobilized Hirakawa Shin'un, then urged Suzume to use the opportunity to act.
  • The Hyuga clan head stopped them and reported that Hirakawa Shin'un's chakra was returning with its original signature.
  • Fugaku Uchiha and Suzume concluded that Hirakawa Shin'un might have regained his reason, though they could not explain why he remained motionless.
  • Shin'un woke in a dark, empty space, saw a faint light, and lost consciousness again.
  • Shin'un woke once more and realized that he was glowing.

Ch. 190The Ocean of Spheres Was Actually...

After dying and drifting through darkness, Shin'un emerged into an ocean of spheres and discovered that the Skill Editor had regained its power. He concluded that the spheres represented stories or worlds and that the enormous solid sphere above them was his former real world.

  • Shin'un repeatedly collided with a barrier in the darkness until he passed through it and entered an ocean of translucent spheres beneath an enormous solid sphere.
  • Shin'un saw streaks of light move between the spheres, carrying familiar sights such as a hockey mask, undead humans, and a transforming robot.
  • Shin'un touched colorless mist, which made his body flare with light and restored the Skill Editor panel.
  • Shin'un found that [Bloodline Essence] had reached 100% progress and tried to load a new skill, [Eternally Indestructible], but the panel did not respond.
  • Shin'un reasoned that he had died and become a soul, then identified the translucent spheres as worlds and the solid sphere above as his former real world.

Ch. 191Something Inhuman

Shin'un loaded [Bloodline Essence], which sent him racing back toward his body in Konoha. As he descended toward the ruined hospital, he saw a strange lightning-based monster and suspected it was his transformed body.

  • Shin'un decided to load [Bloodline Essence] and began entering a new skill called [Omnipotence].
  • [Bloodline Essence] took effect, reshaping Shin'un's flesh according to his wish to return to normal and carrying him away from the colorless mist.
  • Shin'un traveled through a familiar sphere and found himself high above Konoha.
  • Shin'un saw Orochimaru organizing ninja to erect a barrier and spotted Suzume and clan heads guarding the hospital ruins.
  • Shin'un noticed a blue-purple, lightning-based monster among the ruins and wondered if it was his body.

Ch. 192The ending

Shin'un recovered his reason and strength after becoming a monster, then recounted how he survived the viral outbreak, rose to become Hokage, and fought the threats that destroyed the Shinobi World. After a sinkhole sent him back to Earth, he reunited with Otsutsuki Kaguya and eventually became lord of a world formed from the merging of all worlds.

  • Shin'un regained his reason, destroyed the monsters around Konoha Hospital, and remained inside Orochimaru's barrier until [Bloodline Essence] restored his human form.
  • Shin'un learned his parents had died, led a campaign to wipe out the monsters, and later helped defeat the vampire Mizukage before leading the massacre of Kirigakure.
  • Orochimaru became the Fourth Hokage, then resigned during six years of peace, and Shin'un became the Fifth Hokage.
  • Shin'un slaughtered the combined Kumogakure and Iwagakure army, but learned that the Nine-Tails and One-Tail had been captured and that the other Tailed Beasts were also missing.
  • Shin'un fought Madara Uchiha and Otsutsuki Kaguya, but a sinkhole engulfed him and Kaguya and sent them to Earth.
  • Shin'un reunited with Otsutsuki Kaguya, fought monsters as the worlds merged, and became lord of the resulting boundless world.
