I started this book on August 1, and it has already been more than three months.
Over these three months, I have posted close to 900,000 characters, averaging nearly 10,000 a day. I wouldn't dare claim the quality was particularly good or the quantity particularly impressive, but at least I genuinely put serious effort into writing it.
Whether in my vocabulary or the way I connected the plot, it was clear that my work was still very immature.
But a book's quality isn't something you can improve just by deciding to improve it. That takes sustained effort and learning. So what can you do when you can't improve it in the short term? Update more, and write more.
Make up for poor quality with quantity-that has always been my thinking and my approach. Of course, quantity can't actually make up for quality, but when the gap in quality isn't too large, a little more quantity also represents a little more effort.
This book's performance really did exceed my expectations, so I haven't dared slack off in the slightest, posting five chapters every day, rain or shine.
Here, I want to thank all the readers who have supported Xiaofeng. Thank you, sincerely.
I also want to thank the editors for their guidance and encouragement.
The truth is, my health has always been very, very poor. Leaving aside stubborn conditions like gastritis and rhinitis that haven't responded to prolonged treatment, a while ago, for reasons I didn't know, my tinnitus became extremely severe, leaving me almost unable to sleep. If I hadn't written some extra chapters beforehand, I might not even have been able to keep up the updates during those days.
I went to the hospital for an examination, and it turned out my auditory nerve was damaged. So I temporarily stopped taking my gastritis and rhinitis medication to take medication for the tinnitus first, and I'm still taking it now.
Riddled with illness and nothing but skin and bones-it's hard to believe I'm only nineteen.
Of course, I'm quite at peace with it myself. Whatever state your body is in, you still have to live life to the fullest. If you have a clear direction to work toward, your life has value.
From discovering webnovels at sixteen, to getting my first contract at seventeen, to making it all the way to today, it feels as though it all passed in the blink of an eye.
At first, I wrote webnovels because of the things going wrong in my life, wanting to pour my emotions into fiction. Gradually, that became a desire for recognition, going from no one paying any attention, to people slowly taking notice, to some criticizing and others praising...
Wanting to do better-that's the motivation to keep working hard, I suppose.
Next, let's talk about where this book is headed. At this point, the plot is more or less nearing its end. I've seen a lot of people say I'm writing too fast, but in fact, this pace has already turned out quite differently from what I expected. My original plan might have been even faster.
The idea behind this fanfic was a story about someone willing to work hard, struggling in the world of Naruto and acting without restraint. Since he acts without restraint, there would be little involvement in all sorts of complicated ties and entanglements. And the limitations of the world of Naruto also meant it would be difficult to keep writing it the way you could a xuanhuan or urban novel.
At this point, there's something I have to mention: for now, I have no plans to write works in other genres.
In other words, whether this book is finished or not, I won't stop writing fanfiction. If I start another book, it will still be a fanfic.
All right, that covers this book and my plans afterward. Of course, this book won't end quite so soon; there is still some plot left to write as I wrap things up.
Tomorrow, on the afternoon of November 6, this book will receive a front-page recommendation. Xiaofeng will post five extra chapters that afternoon, meaning tomorrow will be a ten-chapter mass release.
While posting five chapters a day, pushing myself to write another batch for a mass release has more or less brought me close to my limit. So, finally, I'm down on my knees begging everyone for a round of monthly ticket support!
I couldn't manage a mass release at the start of the month, so I didn't have the nerve to shamelessly ask for monthly tickets.
I hope everyone with monthly tickets can give Xiaofeng some support. Thank you so much!!
