Ch. 41A Reluctant Farewell
Jianshi and Wang Yan parted from the warriors of four allied tribes after nearly a month of travel, giving each man generous gifts from the Fire Tribe. As the warriors returned home with warm feelings toward the Fire Tribe, Jianshi and Wang Yan expected their stories to strengthen the tribe’s reputation and alliances.
- Jianshi and Wang Yan recognized the strengths of Manshi, Niqiu, Qingti, and Changjiao during the journey and considered how valuable they would be to the Fire Tribe.
- Dali and Dazhuang grew close to the allied warriors by sharing food, training, and stories about their tribes’ fighting and hunting methods.
- At the fork in the road, Jianshi gave every warrior a hemp garment, dried fish, and a pottery bowl.
- Juti and the other warriors thanked Jianshi and promised to meet the Fire Tribe again, while Dali and Dazhuang exchanged warm farewells with their new friends.
- Jianshi told Wang Yan that sincerity and sharing could earn lasting friendship, and Wang Yan understood that the departing warriors would spread the Fire Tribe’s reputation.
