History
Gu Fan’s Exile and First Auction
The Gu Lineage elders banish Gu Fan to Guangyang City before the tournament to select a young patriarch. As the main branch’s sole scion, he threatens their succession plans despite being unable to cultivate. They intend for him to remain in the remote city until his unawakened God-Devouring Physique kills him 1 25.
At the local Profound Heaven Auction House, Gu Fan activates the Auction Ten-Thousandfold Return System and orders an immediate auction. Invitations emphasizing his royal-capital origins draw the city lord, lineage heads, mercenary groups, and rival auction masters. The sales yield the Fortune Golden Pill that enables him to awaken his physique, while the Scarlet Flame Saber establishes the auction house’s reputation 2 3 4 7 9 10.
Failed Robbery and Shifting Power
During the second auction, three Spirit Sea Realm robbers attempt to seize the Black Baleful Intent Snake. They threaten to wreak havoc throughout Guangyang City if the city lord intervenes, forcing him to hesitate. The snake instead devours all three, and Gu Fan subsequently hands it to Lineage Head Miao 18 19.
Over the following seven days, repeated auctions reshape the city’s hierarchy. Huang advances into the Spirit Sea Realm, Liu loses its place among the three great lineages, and Miao retains the strongest local position through the snake. Gu Fan himself becomes the city’s most prestigious figure because he supplies the treasures responsible for these changes 22.
Regional Attention and Departure
The auctions attract outsiders and nearby sects. Rumors claim that newly opened ruins near Guangyang City—or treasures recovered from the Black Forest—explain the steady supply of second-tier items 22 23.
At the ninth auction, Gu Fan announces his departure and restores the auction house’s monthly schedule and five-percent commission. After the Gu Lineage rejects his request to take over its Yanshan Commandery City branch, he leaves to establish his own business there. The city lord, lineage heads, and other residents gather outside Guangyang City’s gates to see him off, lamenting the loss of further opportunities 23 24 26.
Shattered Star Sect Investigation
After Gu Fan leaves, Shattered Star Sect members visit the Guangyang branch to investigate the Spirit Heart Lotus and ask where he has gone. Zhu Huai refuses to answer and drives them away; the guard Feng Shan travels to Yanshan Commandery City to warn Gu Fan 33.
The sect later kills the last Mad Wolf Mercenary Group subordinate involved in harming one of its disciples in the Black Forest outside Guangyang City. With Commander Mad Wolf still at large, the sect’s seventh elder leads roughly a hundred members toward Yanshan Commandery City to find Gu Fan 44.
