He looked at Antiya Lisi, his gaze equally grave:
"Once I get near White Wax Town, I will be able to pinpoint the enemy's core location, and the attack will not take as long."
"Therefore, I need you to hold out for three days. Given the current intensity of the attack, holding out for three days shouldn't be difficult."
"But with them having flying units, it's difficult for me to keep my whereabouts secret."
"If my plan is exposed, the rebels lurking outside the city will undoubtedly have only two choices: either launch a fierce attack and take Fir City directly, or immediately regroup their troops and return to their core positions."
Antiya Lisi asked in a deep voice:
Which one do you think they will choose?
Marba, who was about to part ways with the other party, no longer wanted to hide anything in terms of his speaking habits; he said bluntly:
"Based on my understanding of humans, they will choose the second option, otherwise a large number of people will inevitably die due to internal strife."
Humans always value loyalty more than ability.
"Okay, that's settled then."
Antiya Lisi nodded and said:
"If the rebels escalate their attacks again, I will immediately declare martial law and amend the rules for the Treant Hunter to forcibly suppress them within the city."
He looked into Marba's eyes:
"Just do your best."
I thought you would say that I absolutely had to win.
"Won't."
Antiya Lisi sighed:
"You're hiding something from me, and Lord Sailesi is hiding something from me too. It seems I'm not the student the teacher trusts the most after all."
Marba did not deny this, but spoke from the perspective of the real Marba:
You have to believe that sometimes it's better not to know than to know.
After saying this, he turned and left the study, walking towards the outside of the cathedral.
After bypassing the enormous bronze bell embedded in the ground, Marba finally met his men.
"Commander."
Everyone bowed in respect.
"Get up, everyone, we've got work to do."
Marba's tone carried a hint of anticipation and eagerness:
"Return to camp, take stock of your troops, eliminate the bottom 20%, and await my next orders."
"Yes!"
A few hours later, the order from Legion Commander Marba was delivered to the lower-ranking knights, which concisely stated the purpose of the mission and the meeting point.
Faced with the task of subjugating a suspected false god, many people were indeed worried, but a few from the heartland of the Tree Worship Church, who had been Stained Ones for many years, were eager to try.
Along with the warrant came boxes of seeds belonging to two different Aberration plants. One type could cause a person to Directed Alienation into an incredibly hard shield, while the other could fire powerful grape-shaped projectiles.
It is a consensus within the Tree Worship Church that a person can only achieve symbiosis with one type of Aberration plant.
Undoubtedly, ordinary Holy Crusaders soldiers who used these two seeds would likely be half- Tree Transformation, even if they didn't die. But Marba's meaning was clear: losing this battle meant certain death, while victory offered a chance of survival.
After the seeds of the two Aberration plants were distributed, the Holy Crusaders from various military camps within the city began to set off one after another, heading towards the nearest city gate and assembling in the south of the city.
Under the cover of night, and with the intentional expulsion of the Treant Hunter, the march proceeded exceptionally smoothly tonight, and no rebels noticed anything amiss.
At midnight, nearly five thousand elite Holy Crusaders assembled in the southern part of Fir City.
In the extraordinary world, military strength is about quality, not quantity. Although it doesn't even reach the scale of 10,000, every Holy Crusaders standing here has an overall strength of at least Low Tier Lower Grade (around level 10), which is considered truly elite in the World of Disorder. Not to mention that there are also a large number of squad leaders and company commanders, as well as several Grand Knights and a Legion Commander.
Under normal circumstances, these elite soldiers would be able to deliver six blows per second to the rebels.
This is why players immediately run away whenever they provoke the Holy Crusaders; apart from a small number of top-tier players, most players genuinely cannot defeat these Holy Crusaders.
The elite soldiers in their battle robes didn't need to hide the clanging of their armor; the Hoofed Beast of the World of Disorder were always docile after being trained.
A virtually silent team slipped into the jungle in the darkness, embarking on a daring detour to White Wax Town to carry out their decapitation plan.
A few hours later, the elite army completely broke away from Fir City's sphere of influence, entered other areas of Aduolin Province, and began to advance towards the Wilderness of Chaos.
The passage of thousands of people through the dense forest naturally left a very clear path, while several roots that do not belong to any plant faithfully recorded it all.
Also recorded was a faint, familiar fluctuation of Psionic Energy.
On the same night, a figure was appearing and disappearing throughout the Aduolin Province.
Willow materialized from the illusion, then took a deep breath and analyzed the surrounding Psionic Energy, quickly finding the power she wanted.
Her figure became ethereal again, then solidified several miles away, repeating the process once more, like a great white shark tracking the scent of blood.
Willow has become increasingly skilled at using short-range teleportation, or Flash, to the point where it can even be cast instantly.
She doesn't need any assistants, because no one can keep up with this Psionic Energy detective.
In less than a day, she had already traced the remnants of Psionic Energy in the air and arrived at Black Locust Town.
Just as she was about to continue tracking the Psionic Energy remnants and make her way into Fir City to pinpoint the target's location, Ed's voice suddenly rang in her ears.
Willow was already used to Ed's ability to transmit his voice, knowing that it was one of the effects of connecting to the " Root Network " using that leaf.
Many of the powers emanating from the other party cannot be explained by a single form of Psionic Energy. For instance, she had never heard of anything like constructing a database shared by all Soul Returner.
This database is now open to her as well, but Ed has selectively blocked out some content related to reality to prevent Willow from developing a distorted understanding of the world.
Willow, having tasted the benefits of a shared database for the first time, was quite excited and spent some time completing the monster data missing from the encyclopedia through real-name authentication, which even sparked a discussion among players.
Can you hear me?
Ed's voice echoed directly in Willow's mind.
"Sure, boss."
"A new mission: travel to Black Locust Town to find Grand Knight Nuolun and help her command the Soul Returner ' attack on Fir City."
"But I have absolutely no idea how to give instructions..."
"You are a Psionic Energy advisor; you are not responsible for directing things."
"Then I need it?"
"Give the Soul Returner a buff."
