How does it feel to become human again?
Ed asked a question jokingly, but the boy in front of him didn't know where to begin, and was only crying because he was too excited.
After confirming that his human body was fine, Ed looked at Duma beside him:
"Do me a favor and get him to his new home in Valhalla."
"Yes, Son of God Highness, but it seems neither he nor I know..."
"The Adventurers' Guild, they'll keep records there."
"Yes, sir."
The demon hadn't gone far with Enzo when the boy suddenly turned to look at Ed:
"Should I address you as Son of God... Sir? I would like to know how I can serve you."
Ed, who was already planning to treat the remaining Treant Hunter, turned to look at Enzo:
"If your family agrees, you can go to the Adventurers' Guild in Valhalla and find someone named ' Number Seven ' to register."
Valhalla, near the Adventurers' Guild, in the Greenhouse.
[ Vanilla Ice Cream Scoop ] opened her eyes and heard many players talking outside the Greenhouse.
Is business good today?
As a freshman, yesterday was the first time [ Vanilla Ice Cream Scoop ] didn't log into the game because it was the last day of her exam week, and she was busy asking her high school self to possess her again.
Everyone couldn't wait to come back after only being gone for a day, which means their Greenhouse business is really doing very well.
Satisfied, [ Vanilla Ice Cream Scoop ] opened the door and saw a group of players with worried expressions, including his older brother.
What do you need?
The leader of the players asked:
"Boss, did you know that our old house has been burgled?"
"Ah?"
[ The Vanilla Ice Cream Scoop ] looked shocked. A thief broke into the Greenhouse? What could he have stolen?
All transactions between players use the Root Network's currency system and do not involve cash transactions at all.
To say they came to steal the Deadwood Vine... doesn't quite make sense.
The man said:
"Stop talking, boss! Go check your backyard, the thief is there."
"Why didn't you catch him right there? There should be a reward, right?"
[ Vanilla Ice Cream Scoop ] looked at the player in front of him with a puzzled expression. The player then teased him in a strange tone:
"Oh dear, who would dare to enter your backyard? We might not even be as good a fighter as that thief; if he fell, what chance do we have?"
Another player said:
"Yes, and you've now contracted this land. If we force our way in, it would be a violation of the game's rules."
[ Vanilla Ice Cream Scoop ] then looked at his older brother:
Why didn't you contact me sooner?
"Didn't you tell me not to bother you during exam week? I recorded it, do you want to listen?"
[ Vanilla Ice Cream Scoop ] fell silent, leading the players to the backyard of the Greenhouse.
She quickly realized something was wrong.
The Deadwood Vine, which should have kept a safe distance from each other, are now all entangled together.
This only happens in one situation: when she's feeding the animals.
Upon closer inspection, the shapes formed by the intertwined Deadwood Vine are remarkably human-shaped!
Meanwhile, the person in the crowd with the Chocolate Ice Cream Scoop immediately spotted a humanoid mummy that looked exactly like the "Confidential Shipment" item. It was still struggling, so it was probably not dead yet.
[ Vanilla Ice Cream Scoop ] used its Plant Compatibility, which was far superior to that of normal players, to order the Deadwood Vine to stop, while [ Chocolate Ice Cream Scoop ] rushed up and pried open the Deadwood Vine, pulling out a person whose skin had been corroded by the Deadwood Vine' digestive fluid.
This was a Holy Crusaders leader. He wouldn't normally have been captured by the Deadwood Vine, but by sheer coincidence, after crossing the Greenhouse, he ran into the Antasia, which was operating without its lights on at night, and was sent straight into the center of the Deadwood Vine.
Fortunately, although he was wrapped up like a dumpling by a group of Deadwood Vine, he has survived to this day thanks to his tenacious vitality, which is simply amazing. The tenacity of a plant-based ability user is truly astonishing.
Two players stepped forward, seized the prisoner, and put a restraint on him to suppress his abilities.
The guess about the [ Vanilla Ice Cream Scoop ] was correct; catching these stragglers really does come with a reward.
These bounties might not mean much to her, but the players present clearly valued them highly.
The captured squad leader did not resist; instead, he appeared grateful, thinking that no matter where he was taken, it was better than being slowly digested by a large group of Deadwood Vine.
The group walked through the Greenhouse and quickly rescued seven or eight squad leaders from among the green mummies.
It's because they are physically strong and it's winter now. If it were summer, when these Deadwood Vine are most active, they might have already been skinned alive when they were pulled out.
[ Vanilla Ice Cream Scoop ] After making another round to confirm there were no more prisoners, she returned to the housing area of Greenhouse and looked at the elite Holy Crusaders lined up in front of her, puzzled:
"What are these people doing? They can't really be here to steal the Deadwood Vine, can they?"
The players were naturally in good spirits after receiving the bounty. One of them thought for a moment and said:
"In a sense, they came to steal Ed."
"Um?"
The previously somewhat languid [ Vanilla Ice Cream Scoop ] suddenly widened its eyes, its expression revealing a very obvious murderous intent.
[ Chocolate Ice Cream Scoop ] I'm very familiar with this expression. My younger sister used to make this expression when she failed to take snacks from me when we were little. This is clearly not acting, but a genuine expression of emotion.
The player continued to explain:
"When I said there were thieves at our old home, I wasn't referring to the Greenhouse, but to Valhalla. They weren't there to steal anything; it seems they were there to ambush Ed."
A hint of worry crossed [ Vanilla Ice Cream Scoop's] face. For a moment, she wanted to go out and check, but seeing the calm expressions of the players in front of her, she realized something:
"They failed?"
"Isn't that obvious?"
Several players laughed:
" Ed drove the Dreadnought—no, I mean the Alchemist Golem—and wiped them all out. Then a fire dragon came along and gave them a good roasting. By the time we came out of the castle to catch them, the ground was scorched like blood..."
[ Vanilla Ice Cream Scoop ] imagined the scene in her mind, then looked at the players in front of her:
"Did any of you participate in the entire battle and record it? Would it be convenient to send it to me? I'm willing to pay."
"No need to pay."
One player said:
"They give a good reward for capturing prisoners. I fought from beginning to end, except for dying twice and being interrupted for about a minute. The rest was all done in one continuous shot. Let's add each other as friends and I'll send it to you."
"Good."
[ Vanilla Ice Cream Scoop ] immediately added the player as a game friend and quickly received a full video of the Valhalla defense battle from the other player. [ Chocolate Ice Cream Scoop ], who had played the second half of the battle, also sent his recordings to his sister.
After seeing the other players off, [ Vanilla Ice Cream Scoop ] started slurping noodles on the spot, while [ Chocolate Ice Cream Scoop ] found a place nearby to practice his Psionic Energy skills.
