"You brainless knight, can you hear me?"
The voice suddenly rang in Xilǐ'er's mind. It sounded less majestic and high-pitched, but it was still very clear and crisp.
This is...
Blue Dragon!
You're not dead?
Xilǐ'er was utterly horrified; he nearly dropped his spear.
Memories of the arduous battle during the dragon hunt flooded back, causing him to enter a pure combat mode after a brief moment of shock.
"I did wish you well, but who said I was going to die? You were going to see the Twin Kings back then; if I had spoken to you then, I would have been asking for death."
"Besides, I had already exhausted my strength at that time, and I barely survived by absorbing a lot of your Psionic Energy during this period."
Xilǐ'er was somewhat stunned upon hearing this:
"If you survived such an attack, does that mean the Amber Dragon, defeated by the Twin Kings a hundred years ago, might not have died either?"
" Amber Dragon? Dead? Hmm, oh yes, yes, dead, dead."
The Blue Dragon in my mind seemed to be surprised for a moment, then explained:
"Unlike those kinds of guys, the Blue Dragon wields Authority over Psionic Energy, so his soul strength is naturally higher."
Xilǐ'er thought about it and accepted the Blue Dragon's point of view:
"You, you're inside my body?"
"I'm just staying here temporarily; I'll be leaving soon. I've bestowed my blessing upon you; is it alright to ask for some compensation?"
"That depends on what you really want. What do you want right now?"
"First of all, you don't want me to keep absorbing your Psionic Energy, do you? Go find me something to attach myself to, let me see..."
Xilǐ'er suddenly lost sight in one eye. Without warning, the eyeball turned automatically and finally looked in the direction of the weapon rack.
"That knight's sword will do."
The fact that the dragon had seized control of one of his eyes without permission forced Xilǐ'er to believe that the Blue Dragon's soul meant no harm.
From this perspective, the other party could continue to lie low until its soul's strength surpasses that of the user, at which point seizing control of this body should not be difficult for it.
Xilǐ'er strode forward to the weapons rack:
"This one?"
"Yes, this one will do."
Xilǐ'er reached out and grasped the knight's sword. Instantly, his entire body surged like a dam bursting, and Psionic Energy began to flow rapidly into this ordinary weapon that did not possess Psionic Energy Circuit.
It seems that the Blue Dragon's soul, which had been speaking in his mind, also left with him.
Enduring near-exhaustion, Xilǐ'er stared intently at the utterly ordinary practice iron sword.
As the power surged in, circuits he had never seen before began to spontaneously appear on the sword and the guard.
Soon the sword became as shiny and new as ever, with tiny scales covering the hilt.
"Alright, I've finished inscribing the circuit. I won't need your Psionic Energy Circuit anymore; the absorption efficiency is just too low."
The Blue Dragon's voice came again, Xilǐ'er loosened his grip on the knight's sword; the voice instantly subsided considerably.
He grasped the knight's sword again, and the sound immediately became crystal clear.
"My soul has been successfully transferred. Don't tell anyone about this. In my current state, if I'm discovered again, I'm doomed."
"As long as you're not too far from this sword, my voice will reach your mind; you won't need to keep holding onto it."
"Good."
Xilǐ'er nodded and then asked:
"And what's next? Do you want to regain your power within this sword? Let me make this clear beforehand: if you intend to harm either of His Majesties, I will immediately hand you over to the Twin Kings Palace."
"No, I'm not a fool like you."
Hearing the Blue Dragon's response, Xilǐ'er continued:
I didn't know beforehand that you would survive, nor did I intend to accept your blessing.
"But since you have bestowed this favor upon me, I must repay you. As long as it is not detrimental to the two emperors, and is within my power, I can help you with it."
Hearing this, the Blue Dragon's voice became somewhat helpless:
"I have broken the 'curse' that only made you say 'Long live the Twin Kings ' and given you the passive ability to not be swayed by High Tier or lower-level Psionic Energy Formula. Don't you still think there's something wrong with the Twin Kings?"
Xilǐ'er shook his head and retorted:
"I don't think so. Although I don't know why Your Majesties hunted the dragon, I think they were right in everything else."
"... Yes, you're right. Neither of the Twin Kings is wrong, and neither are you. It's my mistake to try to reason with someone like you."
Blue Dragon muttered something under his breath and then said:
"Okay, just do one last thing for me, and it's something you can definitely do."
What do you need from me?
"Take me away from the Eternal Domain. Your two emperors are too powerful; I simply cannot afford to offend them. I've recently been able to hear information from the outside world. Please leave this place soon, and take this sword with you, so that I never return."
"Sure, but my destination is north of Klaf City, one of the most terrifying places in the Wilderness of Chaos. Are you sure you want to go there?"
Hearing about this destination, which would frighten most people, the Blue Dragon immediately gave an affirmative answer:
"Sure, sure, anywhere is better than this wretched place. This so-called Eternal Domain of yours reeks of decay; I don't want to stay here even a quarter of an hour longer."
"Even if Blood Corpse is terrifying, it wouldn't be so obsessed as to keep gnawing on the hilt of a knight's sword. The environment in Klaf City, however terrible, is still better than the Demon Realm... Just do me a favor and throw me into Klaf City, even if it's a stinking ditch."
"... If this is what you want, then I agree."
And so, Xilǐ'er, accompanied by his knights, squires, and private soldiers, left the Eternal Domain and headed to the mission area assigned to him by the Twin Kings.
There were quite a few resurrected Blood Corpse along the way. Xilǐ'er led his small but incredibly powerful army in many battles, but he never once used the knight's sword hanging on his horse.
Blue Dragon seemed to have a certain tacit understanding with him, and had not said a word since the agreement was reached.
Everything should have continued as it was; the journey to Klaf City was already halfway complete, and nothing unusual had occurred along the way.
Just when Xilǐ'er thought everything was going according to plan, one afternoon he finally heard the Blue Dragon's voice again:
"A large, moving thing has appeared near you. Find a way to send your support object up there, and then we'll be even, how about it?"
"A huge... moving object?"
Xilǐ'er looked around blankly, and soon saw a mobile fortress with a somewhat familiar shape appear on the hillside behind him.
"You mean this?"
"This is it, the big thing that moves."
