However, Muller simply assumed he was too full and didn't consider any other possibilities.
It wasn't until he entered the Dungeon and still had no appetite when facing the Soul Returner he had personally defeated that Muller realized that he might have undergone some subtle changes.
At this moment, Ed and Muller were unaware that they, father and son, had just made history.
Ed created a Blood Corpse suffering from anorexia, a mental illness that will haunt Müller-chan for the rest of his life.
Just then--
"Pfft!"
Muller felt a sharp pain on his side, as if he had been stabbed by something like a knife.
He turned the worm's plump head to the side and looked over with the small eyes at the top of its body, only to see a Soul Returner chop down on him with an axe.
"Forehead."
Muller let out a low, menacing voice, which, though he tried his best to suppress it, still sent a chill down the spine of the novice player.
"Holy crap, I activated the BOSS! Brothers, let's go!"
Hearing this outrageous statement, Muller couldn't help but lose his composure:
"Hey, you newbies, haven't you ever heard of me Müller-chan Adrian?"
Clearly, the newbie had never heard of the term "old relic".
A talking bug? That should give a lot of experience points, right?
Another player spoke up at the opportune moment, and the group exchanged glances before charging towards Muller, weapons in hand.
At this moment, Muller really wanted to rebel, but considering the rules Ed had set for him, he hesitated.
According to Ed, the only place where he could kill these guys without holding back was his own Dungeon.
So even though he could easily crush those arrogant players into mincemeat with a simple roll, he didn't.
Faced with a threat that wasn't really a threat, Muller ultimately decided --
He turned and ran.
Soon after, a strange and bizarre scene unfolded on the third level of the underground city:
A large group of players, whose combined size was smaller than an adult's shoe, were wielding crude weapons as they chased after a huge, fat worm monster that was at least level fifty.
On this day, the entire Klaf City was filled with the joyful atmosphere brought by the warriors.
With the spatial rift closing, the alchemical golem returned to the castle, the plant dragon temporarily went offline, and the players became the main force in Klaf City.
The lively and cheerful atmosphere was infectious, making this limited-time closing event feel like a true celebration.
But there was one person who stood out from the surrounding noise.
Xilǐ'er awoke from his deep sleep to the sound of jubilant laughter all around him, but pain washed over him like a tidal wave.
As if his bones were breaking inch by inch, Xilǐ'er could only lie motionless on the horse's back.
Radish was equally exhausted and had already knelt on the ground, merely dragging the utterly weary Xilǐ'er along with his body.
Although he only just woke up at this moment, he had already heard some strange conversations when he was still in a daze.
Adelaide, Vanessa, lineage, blood ties, Ancient Shadow, collections...
And the most important line—"He's yours now."
Countless doubts weighed on Xilǐ'er's mind like layers of mountains; he was confused about the past and equally uncertain about the future.
The knight listlessly removed his helmet, trying to get a little fresh air in the process.
Unfortunately, this place is hundreds of meters underground. After being slowly roasted by Seraphina and bombarded by a rain of gravel like dumplings being thrown into a pot in Adelaide, the air is filled with nothing but scorching heat and dust from the impact of rocks.
Removing his helmet didn't help Xilǐ'er much, but it did allow him to touch the tears welling up in his eyes.
Countless questions weighed on his mind; the knight felt he needed an answer.
He forced himself to straighten, bowed respectfully on horseback, and began to silently recite the names of the Twin Kings of the Eternal Domain:
"The founders of the Eternal Domain, the Supreme and mighty Twin Kings, the loyal knights yearn for your gaze."
He repeated it three times, but to no avail.
No virtuous words were spoken, no images appeared, and no emperor Descent upon him.
Xilǐ'er was like a kite with a broken string; his strong body began to tremble uncontrollably, his heart filled with anxiety and helplessness.
He composed himself, calmed his agitated emotions, lowered his head again, and recited once more:
"The founders of the Eternal Domain, the Supreme and powerful Twin Kings, the loyal knights yearn for your guidance to resolve the doubts in their hearts."
Xilǐ'er maintained a humble and respectful demeanor, and after a while, it seemed that a faint connection had been established between him and his body.
After a long silence on the other end of the link, a sarcastic remark, tinged with anger, finally came through:
"I don't see 'loyalty' anywhere, but do you?"
The voice was dry and deep, and Xilǐ'er instantly recognized it as the voice of His Majesty the " Immortal King ".
He quickly lowered his head even further, but boldly asked:
"Your Majesty Immortal King, I truly have doubts..."
"Alright."
A deep yet gentle voice came from behind:
Let me say it.
"Snort."
The connection seemed to have weakened somewhat, but the sound from the other end was clearer than before.
"Your Majesty the Great King of Domination..."
I know what you want to ask.
The King of Domination interrupted Xilǐ'er's speech:
"No need to say it aloud, I'll say it."
"This is our last conversation; from now on, we will have no further contact."
"If you still have doubts after listening, then it's something you shouldn't know right now."
"Yes."
Xilǐ'er's tone was tinged with suppressed sorrow and confusion. After a moment of silence on the other end of the link, he suddenly asked:
" Xilǐ'er, do you still remember how long you've served me?"
The knight immediately responded respectfully:
"It has been almost eighty years since the two emperors released me from my amber state..."
Do you even believe that yourself?
Xilǐ'er remained silent in the face of the King of Domination's question.
The King of Domination on the other end spoke calmly:
"I am the King of Domination. Domination, manipulation, and alteration are my Authority, and the objects of these powers include, but are not limited to, actions, bloodlines, and even... memories."
"So, the time you truly served me can be counted from the year you were knighted, which I believe was in the year 620 of the Royal Calendar. That's a full 289 years now."
"What?"
At this moment, even Xilǐ'er, who was extremely polite, was so surprised that he raised his head.
The King of Domination ignored his worldview-shattering astonishment and continued:
"Although you were in amber for almost two hundred years, putting that period aside, the length of time you have been loyal to me is indeed this long."
