After being subjected to numerous cruel experiments, he used his remaining consciousness to touch a plant that had just begun to sprout on his way back to his cell.
The plant was just a sapling about the length of a hand, which was originally intended to be inserted into the wound of an experimental subject to observe its compatibility with the human body.
There were countless such plants in the blood-soaked underground laboratory, but " Number Three " still managed to grab it just before losing consciousness, hiding it under his blood-stained shirt and taking it back to his cell.
Once the underground cell was no longer patrolled by priests, " Number Three " took his sapling and crawled into a stone hole in the wall. Despite the hard stone walls crushing his bones, he did not utter a single scream.
The young man's escape attempt was quickly discovered, and the priests launched a massive manhunt in and around White Wax Town.
Two priests stumbled upon the escaped experimental subject in the dense forest and quickly gave chase.
The physical condition of a severely injured experimental subject was no match for that of two adult priests, so " Number Three " was eventually kicked to the ground and plunged into the thick humus deep in the dense forest.
He felt a sharp pain shooting through his body; his ankle was being gripped by a giant, iron-like hand, trying to drag him back into that terrible hell.
Having already experienced freedom, " Number Three " is willing to pay any price, even his own life, to avoid returning to that place.
While he was being experimented on by being tied to a stone platform, he overheard some casual conversations among the priests.
To survive in the land of the Tree Worship Church Theocracy, one must have Symbiotic Tree.
Different types of Symbiotic Tree will also bring different powers to their owners.
Fragments of memory flashed through his mind, and the utterly exhausted boy gripped the still-growing sapling tightly, stabbing it into his left eye almost without hesitation.
This was the weakest spot he could find on his body at that moment, and also the spot where it grew the fastest after the Symbiotic Tree was implanted.
A tear of blood flowed from the corner of " Number Three's" eye. The sapling, which was once only the size of a palm, quickly took root and grew in his eye socket, its branches spreading over his ear and forming a half-crown on his head.
Despite forcing himself to endure the feeling, " Number Three " finally let out a low growl.
At the same time, a beam of Psionic Energy seemed to travel across time and space, merging into the body along with the uniquely shaped Symbiotic Tree.
"What?"
The priest who was holding " Number Three's " ankle felt something was off about the touch and withdrew his right hand in confusion, only to find that his hand was uncontrollably turning towards the plant.
His fingers transformed into branches, and the skin on their surface quickly took on the unique texture of plants, and thorns began to grow outwards.
With an incredulous roar, his priestly robes Shattered and shattered from the inside out, and he transformed into a living tree.
The other priest's behavior was largely the same; he too lost his mind in terror and ultimately became a tree-like being.
Perhaps it was lingering memories that were calling to them, or perhaps it was their resentment towards the culprit who caused all of this...
In short, what follows is the story of " Number Three " losing consciousness, being fought over by two living trees, and ultimately being completely torn apart in the middle.
Realizing what these images truly meant, Ed fell silent. At the same time, his other two consciousnesses began to sort out the other two timelines in the "one divided into three" reverse playback.
Little Green's memories seem rather unremarkable; before the seed that housed this existence sprouted, it had nothing that could be called a memory.
Ed's strongest consciousness naturally switched the scene to another world, and the memories that occupied most of his personality began to flash before his eyes.
Even so, the rewinding didn't end. Ed's consciousness split into three, starting to travel back along three different timelines from the two worlds until all three consciousnesses' memories went black.
"There shouldn't be any more, right?"
As Ed thought this, he saw the origin of " Number Three," his infancy in his previous life, and the stage when Little Green was still a seed.
If we move the timeline further back, since none of my parts have yet Descent in any world, what does that have to do with me?
As if in response to his question, just as Ed was finally finishing watching the reversed videotape, his vision lit up again, and new memories were injected into his consciousness.
However, this time it wasn't played in reverse.
It wasn't played backwards, nor forwards; there was no particular order whatsoever. An almost infinite number of memories flooded into Ed's consciousness in an instant.
The intense Overload made it almost impossible for him to maintain his composure, and the influx of these chaotic memories was like a completely out-of-order jigsaw puzzle. Even though Ed tried his best to accept it, he couldn't immediately reconstruct the whole picture of the memories. He could only barely hold onto this information and prevent it from being forgotten by his consciousness again.
After enduring the initial shock, Ed began to try to piece together those memories. His "inspiration" told him that those things seemed to have always belonged to him, and that simply sketching them in his mind was enough to perfectly recreate them.
So, after spending nearly a year assembling a good person in World of Disorder, the puzzle Master Ed finally confronted himself again and began piecing together memories that must have come from a much more distant era...
In an era too distant to be reconstructed, an era that defies description even by terms like ancient or prehistoric times, a consciousness awakened for the first time in this world.
It has no definite form, nor a clear consciousness; it is like a lone fish in a vast ocean, its only activity being to swim endlessly in the boundless Psionic Energy.
Sometimes it's unclear whether this consciousness originates from Psionic Energy or is itself the energy.
After drifting in and out of consciousness for an unknown period of time, this consciousness gradually became clearer, and for the first time it began to think and recognize the things around it.
However, there was nothing around it that could be called a "thing," only Psionic Energy, endless Psionic Energy.
The newly awakened consciousness quickly acquired its first emotion since birth. "Boredom."
Having been troubled by this emotion for an unknown period of time, my consciousness, which was becoming clearer with each passing moment, finally had a new idea.
It began to engage in an act called "creation".
Using illusory tentacles to manipulate Psionic Energy, the sole conscious entity created an existence known as "matter".
After piecing together all sorts of substances, the consciousness felt as if something was still missing...
