Ed's consciousness briefly went into a state of stagnation.
This isn't just because the sudden influx of massive amounts of memories overwhelmed my original consciousness, but also because these memories all pointed to a fact I'd always suspected but had been unwilling to confront—
Wait, I think I really am Tree God...
In the distant past, He was divided into three parts: "Spirit," "bone," and "flesh." Each of these three parts went through a period of time, and eventually, with His return, they were reunited to form the person He is today.
As for the " Son of God " title bestowed upon him by the NPCs, Ed could perfectly apply it to the theories he had learned during his "study abroad" period.
This body nourished Little Green with its own flesh and blood, yet the dominant consciousness belonged to itself; it could truly be described as the Trinity of "Father," "Son," and "Holy Spirit"...
Well, for Ed, this was a classic case of "unexpected but reasonable" answer.
After all, he didn't come into this world for no reason, and he had never thought about it deeply before:
If I am a so-called time traveler, why can't I recall my name from my past life, and why does the time span of my memories seem to far exceed the lifespan of a normal human being?
In retrospect, a large portion of his memories were essentially observations he made while possessing other people after his time travel.
The most profound memories, which shaped his current personality, can be understood as the actual experiences of his "last life".
It sounds a bit far-fetched, but it certainly seems to be the case.
He, Ed Adrian, was not essentially a time traveler, or rather, he was indeed a time traveler, but after traveling twice, he returned to his own world.
This truly is "his own world" in the literal sense, because in every sense, he is indeed the Tree God, the creator of this world.
That's not all. According to the memories he had, the Tree God was essentially just a smaller version of the " Creator," which was forced to merge with it later due to the invasion of that powerful pollution, forming a barrier to protect this world.
In other words, the " World Tree " is merely a puppet created by the " Creator." However, because the original entity is too powerful, the life forms in this world can only be aware of the puppet's existence, but cannot observe the manipulator hidden behind it.
In the minds of these intelligent beings, the World Tree was already the most powerful being they could imagine, and the " Creator " hidden behind it was completely beyond their comprehension.
In this light, everything in this world is just "He"—well, I shouldn't call it "He" anymore; it should be said that it's a model I created when I was playing creative mode.
I have to say, creative mode is awesome.
only...
Having sorted out his memories and thoughts, Ed was inevitably overwhelmed by a strong sense of disconnect.
This is not because he has a problem with his self-perception.
The World Tree is essentially a vessel, while the Creator is a consciousness that possesses only divinity. After accepting that these memories belong to him, Ed will not be affected by them in terms of personality and humanity.
What he felt disconnected was that the world, which appeared like a sandbox in the eyes of the Creator, now seemed incredibly vast to him.
What Psionic Energy tentacles is now an almost insurmountable challenge for him, and this sense of disparity is the root cause of Ed's breakdown.
Having been in this world, or rather, returning to this world for almost a year, he has only managed to reclaim two provinces plus a portion of the Wilderness of Chaos —a region that is still quite large.
Moreover, although he knows that he has a "larger" version of a certain classic work, and even two versions, he can't activate either of them right now.
The account " World Tree " was deleted long ago when the Demonic Tide broke out. Without the sacrifice of " World Tree ", the Demonic Tide would have been even more intense.
The main account, " The Creator," is completely out of contact.
He was the only consciousness born in this Psionic Energy world, but now that Psionic Energy has been completely corrupted, if this corruption cannot be removed, Ed's super-sized form will only remain in a sustainable, flat state for the foreseeable future.
Ed's predicament and what he needs to do now can be compared to an example from another world:
The algae in the aquarium has exploded, which might not sound like a big deal, but right now, it's just a small shrimp in the tank...
Even after cleaning the aquarium, you still need to jump out of it and clean the whole house.
There was even a corpse inside the house awaiting disposal.
Even the corpse was his own...
Thinking of this, Ed couldn't help but sigh at the hardships of starting a business, looking like "life is not easy, even the Tree God sighs."
However, there is some good news as well.
As a great consciousness born from Psionic Energy, Ed can also continuously grow stronger in the process of clearing away the Demonic Tide, eventually nurturing his current new account back into his original form.
But it's too early to say anything about that now.
Having perfectly integrated into the High Tier state, Ed's current task is to awaken and lead his past creations and recruits from another world to continue the great cause of rebuilding order.
" Little Green?"
Ed tried calling out in his mind, and then a familiar message appeared again.
The message didn't come from anything external; rather, it seemed to be a call from Ed's left brain, with his right brain responding.
"I am you, and you are me. Haven't we already completely merged? Why are you still calling me here?"
Ed was now in a fully High Tier state, and his previous calls to Little Green now seemed no different from talking to himself.
Even so, Ed forcibly separated a part of his consciousness to serve as the basis for his " Little Green " personality, much like a recovered schizophrenic patient forcibly making himself sick again.
Give me a reason for doing this?
Regarding the part concerning " Little Green," Ed thought for a moment and said politely:
"Yeah, having it separated feels like having an extra subordinate. As the boss, it's very comfortable to order it around."
"But I am you, and you are me. You're exploiting yourself!"
"We have to squeeze ourselves too."
"Studying in another world made me stupid?"
"..."
Ed did not respond to his other part; he and Little Green were originally one entity, and since they were completely integrated, the common scenario of one devouring the other did not exist.
Ed was used to the previous division of labor, similar to that of a CPU and a GPU, so he still intended to have Little Green as his chief assistant, even though Little Green was actually himself.
