"You say!"
The Lion King turned his gaze to the figure that had remained silent.
Leiya raised his head, meeting the Lion King's gaze directly.
"We did fail this time, we don't deny that, but I hope you can give my brother and me another chance, a chance to take down that human city!"
"Once we take down that city, we'll withdraw from the Erosion Zone on our own!"
"Therefore, I have devised a plan, and I hope you will agree!"
A solution? Is there such a thing?... The Molten-Fire Lizard turned its head slightly in surprise to look at Leiya.
The word "solution" is rarely seen among the Calamity Beast who generally prefer hands-on actions to thinking!
Seemingly sharing the same thought, a hint of surprise flashed in the Lion King's eyes.
What plan?
"We want to recruit Calamity Beast from places like the Anchor Point, and then go directly to attack that human city!" Leiya said calmly, and then began to explain the advantages of his plan.
"In this way, we can gather the beast horde without having to summon Calamity Beast from the Ruins Realm, and the speed will be even faster."
"At the same time, this means that those humans won't have much time to prepare their kind of weapon..."
"As for the Anchor Point from which the Calamity Beast were extracted, as long as the number extracted is ensured..."
Beside him, the Molten-Fire Lizard listened with its eyes closed, nodding its head occasionally.
Well, it's a bit simple; it just changes the Calamity Beast that were transferred from the Ruins Realm to those from the Anchor Point, but it should definitely have some effect!
It kept listening until Leiya said he hoped they would be given another chance, then it opened its eyes and looked at Leiya.
Well, while it's not particularly clever, there aren't many monsters among the Calamity Beast who like to use their brains like I do!
Ah, if only I could have it under my command, what a pity...
The Molten-Fire Lizard clicked its tongue inwardly and glanced at the two Sky-Sundering Kamaitachi beside it.
The other race is significantly stronger than mine; it will be very difficult to subdue them!
Tch, what S-Class Calamity Beast?! It's bound to lose anyway!
On the battlefield, it's true, someone with a sharp mind like yourself is more useful!
With a hint of smugness, the Molten-Fire Lizard turned its gaze back to the Lion King in front of it.
The Lion King remained silent, seemingly pondering whether Leiya's suggestion was feasible.
Shuofeng frowned, waiting for the Lion King to speak, while Leiya stared intently at the Lion King as well.
A moment of silence fell over the area in front of the temple.
After a long silence, the Lion King finally spoke.
"Alright, I understand, but you should go back now!"
Leiya's heart tightened, and just as he was about to ask a question, he noticed the Lion King's words.
Go back first?
But before it could figure it out, it heard a suppressed angry voice ring out from the side.
"You bastard, you're not targeting us, are you?"
Leiya froze, then suddenly looked at his older brother.
Shuofeng stared intently at the Lion King, as if he would attack if the Lion King didn't give him a satisfactory answer.
However, before it could even utter a word of persuasion, the Lion King had already responded.
"Targeting? Why would I target you?" the Lion King replied calmly, his gaze fixed on the Shuofeng.
"You're worried we'll take your place later!" Shuofeng tried his best to suppress his anger.
It originally thought that after Leiya said that, the other party would at least give it a chance, since it had already agreed to leave after conquering the city. However, it didn't expect the other party to not give it any face at all!
"If that day ever comes, then I welcome your challenge!" The Lion King's lips curled into a slight smile. His words, instead of anger at being provoked, were filled with interest. "Now, you can all go back!"
Shuofeng stared intently at the Lion King for a long time before saying:
"That day will come!"
Having said that, it turned and walked down the mountain road.
"How could he endure it?"... The Lion King watched the departing figure with admiration.
"I'm sorry, Lord Lion King, that's just my brother's nature. He didn't mean it!" Leiya quickly said, seizing the opportunity.
"Whether it's intentional or unintentional, I certainly welcome it to challenge me in the future!" the Lion King laughed. "And of course, that includes you!"
After a moment of surprise, Leiya bowed slightly.
"Thank you, Lion King Majesty!"
"Alright, you can all go back now!" the Lion King said again.
Nodding, Leiya took a few steps back, then turned and quickly chased after Shuofeng.
Before the temple, only the Lion King and the Molten-Fire Lizard remained as two Calamity Beast.
The Lion King slowly shifted his gaze to the Molten-Fire Lizard.
"You performed very well this time, even better than the other two Calamity Beast..."
Eagle-Sorrow Ravine, on Lonely Mountain.
Shen Heng silently watched the flickering flames.
Eight days have passed since they arrived and laid an ambush.
For the first three days, weapons and equipment were being delivered from Bedrock City, in the hope of killing more of the Calamity Beast Calamity Beast when they arrived, but now it seems a bit unnecessary...
Just then, a figure walked over.
" Captain Shen, here you go!"
Xu Ruiyu walked over and handed over a large piece of meat from some kind of Calamity Beast.
"Thank you!" Shen Heng took the food and started tearing into it.
"You're too kind!" Xu Ruiyu sat down next to Shen Heng, holding a piece of meat in his hand, though it was much smaller than Shen Heng's.
He took just one bite, and his cheek stiffened slightly before he forced it down.
"Ugh, I thought yesterday's was bad enough, but today's is even worse!"
"Yesterday it was Ironback Beast, today it's Tundra Warthog!" Shen Heng replied, drawing on his extensive experience of eating Calamity Beast.
"Huh? Is pork even worse than that Ironback Beast from yesterday?" Xu Ruiyu asked in surprise.
"It's not a pig, it just looks a bit like one, and besides, it has the word 'wart' in it," Shen Heng said.
"What's wrong with the word 'wart' in it?" Xu Ruiyu asked.
"At headquarters, they usually name the Calamity Beast Calamity Beast on their appearance, abilities, and the information they have," Shen Heng said.
"Oh, and then?" Xu Ruiyu asked.
Shen Heng paused, looked up at Xu Ruiyu,
"Then, the word 'wart' can usually be understood as something that carries a virus, and something that carries a virus naturally won't taste good!" Shen Heng said.
"Huh?" Xu Ruiyu's eyes widened, his gaze shifting back and forth between the piece of meat in his hand and Shen Heng. "Can we still eat this poisoned meat?"
"Don't worry!" Shen Heng breathed a sigh of relief, "It's still edible after cooking, it'll just be a little bitter!"
Hearing this, Xu Ruiyu finally breathed a slight sigh of relief. He took another bite, savoring the unpleasant taste.
"By the way, Captain Shen, have you ever eaten anything worse than this?"
"The worst-tasting one..." Shen Heng slowed his chewing, pondering for a moment, "Was probably the Sticky-Boned Salamander."
"What does it taste like?" Xu Ruiyu asked curiously.
"It's like rubber soaked in swamp water, and there are a lot of cartilage fragments in the flesh that I can't get rid of," Shen Heng said.
Xu Ruiyu subconsciously smacked his lips, as if he had already tasted that strange flavor, and quickly shook his head to shake off the feeling.
"What about delicious food?"
"If it tastes good, then..."
"By the way, how do you usually cultivate?"
" Body Tempering, breathing exercises, sword practice, meditation..."
"How about I practice swordsmanship when I reach a higher rank?"
"Sure, but if you don't have any experience, you can practice shooting..."
"Why? Aren't you yourself...?"
"Oh, do you have any suggestions...?"
"Hey, it's been so long since I've gone out. Even though I couldn't go back before, at least I could..."
The two chatted about all sorts of things.
After a long while, Shen Heng swallowed the last bite of meat in his hand and said:
"Go and inform them, pack your things, we're leaving tomorrow!"
