"What's strange?" Gray Whiskers looked over with some confusion.
"Aren't there a few of these escaped Calamity Beast?!" Curly Fur turned to look around.
"Hmm? Is that a lot?" Gray Whiskers looked around in confusion.
The sound continued, but the Black Rat that had been nearby were gone, leaving only the slain and fleeing Calamity Beast.
"Hmm, based on what that Broken Tooth guy reported earlier, each mine should have at least several hundred Calamity Beast that haven't returned, but the ones we just saw were only a couple hundred, right?!" Curly Fur said with some doubt.
"Isn't this normal?" Gray Whiskers said.
"Normal?" Curly Fur looked over.
"Yes!" Gray Whiskers nodded. "If they all stayed together, wouldn't that make it so we'd have to search for them? Judging from this incident, the guy who could organize so many Calamity Beast is definitely not stupid. In this situation, it's only natural for them to stay separate!"
"Is that... right?" Curly Fur hesitated, sensing that there seemed to be something wrong with the answer, but for a moment it couldn't pinpoint what it was.
"Alright, stop thinking about it. Let's hurry up and get there! Even if there are problems later, as long as they can't get out of Black Stone Valley, it'll be fine!" Gray Whiskers urged.
After a moment's hesitation, Curly Fur nodded.
Without dealing with the corpses, the two Black Rat quickly took off and flew towards the Origin Ore.
Curly Fur was initially somewhat skeptical, but as they moved forward, they encountered several more waves of the Calamity Beast they had encountered before.
After several mergers, the number has reached four or five hundred!
To be honest, this number isn't large, but after the reductions over this period, the Calamity Beast in each mine is only around three thousand.
In this situation, four or five hundred is already quite a lot!
The only problem is that the Calamity Beast seem to have been specifically warned, and they disperse before they even arrive.
In response, they could only chase after a few Tier 3 Calamity Beast.
Unfortunately, they seemed to be unlucky, failing to capture the Calamity Beast that led the group each time.
"Hey, there's another lone one down there, should we go ask it?" Gray Whiskers suddenly said from the side.
Curly Fur paused and looked over.
A lone, Tier 3 Fear Beast was seen advancing forward.
We haven't encountered any beasts in the last short while, so there shouldn't be any Calamity Beast around here.
After hesitating for a moment, Curly Fur shook his head:
"Forget it, let's just go directly there. Even if we don't know where those guys are ultimately headed, we already know their approximate location. It'll only take a little time to search. With so many Calamity Beast, they can't possibly hide there!"
Upon hearing this, Gray Whiskers nodded:
"Then let's kill this guy?!"
Without hesitation, Curly Fur nodded slightly.
Seeing this, Gray Whiskers smiled and flew straight towards the Fear Beast.
Curly Fur adjusted its direction slightly, but unlike Gray Whiskers, it didn't go straight ahead.
The wind howled as Gray Whiskers flew swiftly toward the Fear Beast.
Soon, it saw the Fear Beast seem to have heard the noise, turn its head, and then begin to flee in terror.
"It's a pity you can't fly, otherwise you could have lived for another ten seconds or so!"
Gray Whiskers chuckled and quickened his pace once more.
In just twenty or thirty seconds, its shadow enveloped the Fear Beast below.
Then, without pausing, the beast's claws rose and fell...
"Wait, wait, I know the news!!"
The roars echoed through the woods.
The beast's claws paused, stopping in mid-air.
Gray Whiskers looked down with some surprise.
The Fear Beast was lying on its back on the ground, panting, its eyes still filled with fear as it looked at him.
The sound of wind came from the side at that moment.
Curly Fur, which hadn't originally flown this way, also flew over after hearing the sound.
"You... know the news?" Curly Fur asked.
"Yes, yes! I was originally leading a team, but we encountered some adults along the way and were driven away!" the Fear Beast said, trembling slightly.
"Hey, you searched for ages and couldn't find it, but now you've given up looking and found it instead?!" Gray Whiskers said jokingly from the side.
Curly Fur ignored Gray Whiskers, staring intently at the Fear Beast, and said:
"In that case, tell me what you know!"
"Okay, okay," the Fear Beast replied, "I was originally at the Dull Star Stone Mine, but three days ago, there was..."
"We're not interested in that. Just tell us what your plan is and where you're going!" Curly Fur interrupted.
"Uh, okay," the Fear Beast responded, pausing briefly to clear its mind before continuing, "I'm not entirely clear on the specifics of the plan, but the mission from above is to go to the Origin Ore!"
"Where to?"
"Yes, yes!"
"What are we going there for?" Curly Fur eyebrows furrowed.
Gray Whiskers, standing to the side, also raised an eyebrow, somewhat surprised.
You're really going to the Origin Ore? What are you going there for? There's no way out from there!
"That Rock-Backed Beast Lord—no, that Rock-Backed Beast said that the Black Rat Lords will definitely be searching from their territory."
The Fear Beast spoke tremblingly.
"In that case, the area around the Origin Ore will definitely be searched relatively early."
"So, as long as we can hide in that area and evade the first wave of searches, we'll have plenty of time to escape!"
"Then, if we want to evade your search, ordinary methods definitely won't work, so we'll have to resort to a slightly dangerous method, and..."
"Exactly, you're hiding inside the Origin Ore, betting that we'll assume you're trying to escape and won't come looking for you in the mine, right?" Black Rat Curly Fur interrupted and picked up where the Fear Beast left off, speaking calmly.
"Yes, yes!" The Fear Beast looked at the gloomy-faced Black Rat in front of it with some fear, not knowing what the other was thinking.
Curly Fur had no interest in explaining to the Calamity Beast before it either; its expression was calm as it savored the answer it had just received.
Should we hide in the Origin Ore near the valley entrance, making ourselves undetectable, and then use that time to escape?!
I must say, this idea is absolutely brilliant.
The thought of Origin Ore had flashed through its mind several times before, but each time, it had ruled it out!
If it weren't for what the Fear Beast in front of us said, it might have actually skipped over that Origin Ore when it went to search later!
After all, who would have thought that the Calamity Beast, which was clearly trying to escape, would instead hide in the mine?!
"This guy is really something! No wonder he can organize such a large-scale riot of Calamity Beast!" Black Rat Gray Whiskers exclaimed from the side.
There was no response, but Curly Fur nodded in agreement.
Then, it turned its cold gaze back to the Fear Beast before it.
The Fear Beast trembled slightly in fear and continued:
"That's right. Originally, we were told that you gentlemen would come looking for us from the valley entrance, giving us plenty of time to get there and hide. But for some reason, we encountered Lord Black Rat halfway there. The timing was too different, and the location was wrong too!"
Curly Fur didn't respond; it wasn't interested in the problems these guys were planning, nor was it inclined to answer the livestock's questions.
Gray Whiskers, however, didn't seem to mind. He chuckled and said:
"That's because some of you are too weak!!"
"The plan was clearly an ambush, but instead, our own people escaped and were spotted by the other tribesmen."
"Otherwise, by the time we realize the situation, they might actually be searching for us from the valley entrance, just as the plan said!"
"If that's the case, then your plan is actually flawless."
Gray Whiskers paused, then said with some regret,
"Tsk, what a pity..."
It was indeed disappointed, while the Fear Beast's face Distortion in disgust.
"Damn it, so it was those useless idiots who caused this?!"
