Everything, from the very beginning, has contributed to the current situation.

"If any link in the chain is missing, a significant portion of the Calamity Beast that manage to escape will be lost!"

"But even under these circumstances, the Calamity Beast that command them have pushed this area, which was originally occupied by us and where it was absolutely impossible for any of the Calamity Beast to escape, into what is now our location!"

As he spoke, the Black Rat Chief paused, his gaze shifting to Broken Tooth:

"Weren't you asking me how I knew Black Spine and the others definitely didn't receive the message we sent?"

"Let me tell you, just like how Gray Whiskers and the others were lured to the Origin Ore, there are definitely Calamity Beast there responsible for leading Black Spine and the others to another place."

"However, because there's only one Origin Ore, Black Spine and the others weren't killed in the explosion like Gray Whiskers; they're still alive."

"But they definitely didn't receive our instructions to prioritize dealing with the Calamity Beast that escaped from the enclosure!"

"How... how did they know we would send Lord Black Spine and the others?" Broken Tooth asked with some difficulty.

"Is it difficult for the guy who came up with this whole plan, who thought we'd send Black Spine and the others there?" the Black Rat Chief asked in a low voice.

There was no response; Black Rat Broken Tooth kept his head down.

This is probably not difficult; it would be strange if it were something unexpected.

Even the most foolish of the Calamity Beast, after inciting so many of Calamity Beast to flee, would surely realize that they would send their Fifth Tier members to deal with them!

The next challenge is simply finding those Fifth Tier clansmen!

At this point, things become even simpler. After all, the tribesmen they sent were there to deal with them; how could they not have had contact with them!

The only problem is, what reason can be used to lure Lord Black Spine and the others away?

Broken Tooth didn't know, but he figured that if he made up some story about his location, Lord Black Spine and the others would likely be fooled!

After all, climbing over the mountain to get out isn't a quick process, and the importance of the person who organized this riot is self-evident.

Lord Black Spine and the others could have gone there first, and then gone back to deal with the Calamity Beast that had fled from the mine riot!

So, in other words...

"... Now, we'll be facing those Calamity Beast that have already spread to the edges, and are even continuing to expand further outwards!" Black Rat Chief continued, "Under these circumstances, with the number we currently retain in the valley, it's almost impossible to stop them all!"

"Chieftain, if that's the case, shouldn't we recall Lord Rotten Claw and the others? That would at least stop some of those who are trying to escape!" a Black Rat asked cautiously from the side.

"What if they also have a group specifically stationed near the valley entrance?" The Black Rat Chief looked over there.

"Well..."

The Black Rat opened its mouth, but said nothing.

Before today, it absolutely thought this was impossible, after all, it knew very well what those Calamity Beast it used to enslave were like in front of it!

But after today, their opinion of those guys might have to change!

Especially that Calamity Beast that stirred up this chaos!

The other party orchestrated the entire incident, and even managed to kill Lord Gray Whiskers and Lord Curly Fur!

"Damn it, are there really such people among these guys?!"... Many Black Rat cursed inwardly.

"Alright, let's get moving! The further back we go, the more Calamity Beast will escape!" Black Rat Chief said in a deep voice. "Also, if you see a Tier 2 Rock-Backed Beast, remember to spare its life and ask if it's the Rock-Backed Beast that organized this attack. If it is, spare its life and bring it back!"

"Yes!" the Black Rat responded.

As soon as the words were spoken, they either filed out or turned around to inform the other Black Rat.

As Broken Tooth lowered his head, about to leave, he was stopped.

"Broken Tooth!"

It stopped, looked at the clan leader with some confusion, and called out, "Clan leader!"

"Hmm," Black Rat Chief nodded, "Your suggestion was very meaningful. Here's what we'll do: go to the valley entrance and have Rotten Claw send about 30% of his tribesmen over to help with the search!"

"Uh? But what you just said, Chieftain..." Broken Tooth looked at the Chieftain with some hesitation.

"Even if there are indeed Calamity Beast guarding the valley entrance, their numbers can't be too large, otherwise they would be very easy for us to discover. In this case, it's enough for Rotten Claw and the remaining Calamity Beast to continue guarding the valley entrance!" the Black Rat Chief said in a deep voice.

As it spoke, its eyes were fixed on the Broken Tooth:

"If you have any further suggestions, feel free to bring them up, regardless of whether they are right or wrong!"

"Chieftain..."

He spoke, his Broken Tooth trembling slightly.

"Alright, hurry up and go! Also, inform Rotten Claw to be on watch out for Calamity Beast that might be passing by!" said the Black Rat Chief.

"Yes!" he replied excitedly, Broken Tooth turned and quickly headed outside.

"Heh, Chieftain, you think highly of Broken Tooth!" A light laugh came from the side.

The Black Rat Chief turned his head and glanced at Scar Tail, the only 5th Tier Black Rat remaining beside him, and said:

"After all, there are far too few people in the clan willing to think things through!"

There was no rebuttal; Scar Tail smiled and nodded.

"Scar Tail, you go over there too. Search along the mountain wall. If you encounter any Tier 3, consider asking them. As for Tier 2 and below, except for the Rock-Backed Beast, just kill them!" the Black Rat Chief said in a deep voice.

"Yes, I understand!" Black Rat Scar Tail nodded, and just as he was about to turn and leave, he suddenly paused, his gaze returning to the clan leader. "Clan leader, aren't you going over?"

There was no immediate reply. The Black Rat Chief paused for a moment, then asked:

"Scar Tail, if you were that Rock-Backed Beast, which way would you possibly escape from?"

"Uh, isn't there only one road?" Scar Tail asked, somewhat taken aback.

This is exactly what I meant when I said there are far too few people in the clan willing to think things through!... The Black Rat Chief sighed inwardly and prompted, "What I just said, they might have some guards near the valley entrance, waiting for us to move Rotten Claw and the others stationed there!"

"Oh, I see!" Black Rat Scar Tail suddenly realized, then thought for a moment and said, "If it were me, I might try to climb out. After all, going to the valley entrance is too much of a matter of luck! Like now, Chieftain, your decision has directly destroyed any chance of escaping from the valley entrance! But choosing to climb out, in the current situation, still offers a much better chance!"

As expected, the Black Rat Chief nodded.

"Alright, you should go over there now."

Nodding, Black Rat Scar Tail flew towards the distant mountains.

But before it had flown very far, it tilted its head in slight confusion.

Have I forgotten something?

The Black Rat Chief stood silently watching Scar Tail's departing figure.

After a while, it touched the ground with its toes and took flight as well.

However, it didn't fly along the high mountains, but instead slowly flew towards the valley.
