Cheng Che listened to Yan Ruanning's lecture, he couldn't help but sigh inwardly.
How come both of these women are such good lecturers?
Su Miaoyin explained things in detail, making complex music theory easy to understand, breaking it down into simple lines.
Yan Ruanning also explained things in detail, but her style was different. She was more practical, and every time she explained a chord progression, she would play a short piano piece for him to hear the effect.
A born teacher.
Cheng Che knew he wasn't good at educating people. He could do problems, but if he asked someone to teach him, the other person probably wouldn't understand even after he explained it three times.
This lecture lasts for an hour at a time.
Cheng Che benefited greatly from this.
He closed his notebook and sincerely praised, " Teacher Yan, you explained it very well. Even more clearly than Old Xu."
Yan Ruanning's eyes lit up upon hearing this.
"Real?"
"Really. You play a piece of music after each point you explain; this teaching method is especially helpful for understanding."
"Of course." Yan Ruanning put down her pen, her tone filled with undisguised pride. "I've won Best Album Producer, after all. How can you sing if you can't teach?"
Cheng Che nodded repeatedly.
His praise was sincere, Yan Ruanning was pleased, her lips curving into a wide, almost oblivious smile.
She suddenly became bolder.
Yan Ruanning's eyes darted around, and a plan formed in her mind.
"Ouch." She suddenly rubbed her lower back and leaned back in her chair. "I'm so tired."
Upon hearing this, Cheng Che immediately apologized, saying, "Thank you for your trouble, Teacher Yan."
Yan Ruanning didn't reply, but simply sat in the chair, glanced at him sideways, and said, "Give me a massage."
Cheng Che was stunned.
"What?" Yan Ruanning turned her head, her expression displeased. "Don't you respect your teacher?"
Cheng Che's expression turned strange.
Respect for teachers and the importance of teaching?
I'd be lucky if I didn't become a rebellious disciple!
But then he thought, Yan Ruanning found him a lawyer and even gave him lessons. If he didn't repay her with a massage, would he even be human?
He stood up, walked behind Yan Ruanning, and looked as serious as if he were carrying out a sacred mission.
" Teacher Yan," he said seriously, "Please relax."
His hands landed on Yan Ruanning's shoulders.
Yan Ruanning shuddered involuntarily.
Through the thin clothes, Cheng Che felt a warmth in his palm.
The temperature felt real, not the stuffy heat of a hot water bottle, but the warmth of human body, with the thickness and pressure of a palm.
She has narrow shoulders, but a large frame.
I practiced dance as a child, so my shoulder blades have clear and sharp lines, and my muscles aren't thick; they feel smooth to the touch, like a piece of polished jade.
When Cheng Che placed his hand on her shoulder, his fingers slightly tightened, adjusting to her broad shoulders.
Is this pressure okay?
"... Um."
Yan Ruanning's voice was muffled.
She became incredibly famous.
It started burning from the base of my ears all the way down to my neck.
She remembered that night in Hang City, under that big locust tree.
Moonlight, music, two hands clasped together, his palms warm too.
She could still pretend to be calm back then, but now she can't even pretend anymore.
Cheng Che massaged her for a while and found that her shoulders were more relaxed than they appeared.
After he pressed a few times, Yan Ruanning's breathing gradually calmed down, and her body softened.
The two of them stayed quietly in the recording studio.
A massage, a moment of relaxation.
Xiao Zhou hid outside the door.
She went upstairs just now and had something to take care of, so she only came over to eavesdrop now.
She guessed that Yan Ruanning should still be in class.
But she walked to the entrance of the recording studio and put her ear to it to listen.
There was no sound.
She frowned.
That's strange, aren't we in class?
Why is there no sound?
No matter what kind of class it is, there has to be sound.
She listened for a few more seconds.
Then a very soft "ah" came from inside.
Then another sound followed.
Xiao Zhou's eyes widened instantly.
She took a step back, her face filled with shock.
But she didn't knock or call out; she simply turned around silently and walked downstairs.
Just as I reached the bottom of the stairs on the first floor, a staff member walked up to me, holding a document in his hand:
" Sister Zhou, is the boss upstairs? This document needs her signature."
Xiao Zhou reached out and blocked him.
"The boss is busy." She took the documents from her. "Give them to me, I'll have her sign them in a bit."
The staff member didn't think much of it, nodded, and left.
Xiao Zhou watched his figure disappear around the corner and let out a long sigh.
She leaned against the stair railing, muttering with a wry smile, "I've become a doorman. Sister Ning, you have to give me more money."
A moment later, the recording studio door opened.
Cheng Che came out first, his expression normal, as if he had just finished a class.
Yan Ruanning followed behind him, the blush on her face not yet completely gone.
Xiao Zhou saw it at a glance.
She calculated the time.
From the time she went upstairs until the two of them came out, it took about an hour and a half.
"I'm so envious," Xiao Zhou thought to himself. "Younger men are just so physically fit."
Yan Ruanning noticed Xiao Zhou's gaze and asked, a little strangely, "What are you looking at?"
"It's nothing." Xiao Zhou shook his head and turned to Cheng Che, saying, " Little Cheng, I'll take you home."
Cheng Che nodded. "Okay."
Yan Ruanning nodded in agreement, and was about to turn back to the recording studio when Xiao Zhou suddenly added:
"Oh, right, Sister Ning, remember to open the recording studio window to let in some fresh air."
Yan Ruanning was taken aback. "Open the window?"
"Um."
"Why bother with ventilation? I only ate a cookie, it didn't taste like anything, right?"
Xiao Zhou didn't reply, but just glanced at her with a slightly ambiguous smile on her lips, and then led Cheng Che downstairs.
Yan Ruanning stood there, looking completely bewildered.
She looked down and sniffed herself, then looked around the recording studio and didn't smell anything.
After thinking for a while without figuring it out, he shook his head and went back to the recording studio.
Two days later, the military training review ceremony concluded.
Cheng Che changed into clean clothes, asked his counselor for leave, and left the school.
He hailed a taxi and headed straight for the airport.
Capital City International Airport, Terminal 3.
Cheng Che stood at the arrival gate, holding up his phone. The screen showed the flight number sent by Qin Lie.
After waiting for about twenty minutes, the flow of people at the exit began to surge out.
He stood on tiptoe and peered out, then saw a familiar, sturdy figure dragging a small suitcase as it came out.
Cheng Che!
Upon seeing him, Qin Lie rushed over in three strides, threw his suitcase aside, and grabbed Cheng Che hug.
They were holding each other very tightly.
Cheng Che bound that he almost couldn't breathe.
" Old Qin... let go... you're choking me to death..."
"I won't let go." Qin Lie's voice was muffled on his shoulder. "Do you know how long I've waited for this day?"
Cheng Che: "..."
Qin Lie released his grip, took a step back, and looked him up and down, his eyes slightly red.
"Good lad," he patted Cheng Che on the shoulder, "You've grown taller again."
"It hasn't grown."
It's grown.
"It hasn't grown at all."
His charm is only 72 points, so of course he hasn't grown taller.
Qin Lie didn't argue with him, picked up his suitcase, and beamed with joy.
"Let's go," he said. "Let's go straight to Wilson Company and get this over with quickly."
Cheng Che couldn't help but smile at his energetic demeanor.
"Okay." He took Qin Lie's suitcase. "Let's get this over with quickly."
