  • Tanjiro realized Akaza would kill the others unless he gave up Teiichi's location.
  • Akaza kicked Kyojuro away and demanded that Tanjiro tell him where Teiichi was.
  • Tanjiro weighed protecting Teiichi against saving everyone on the battlefield, then told Akaza that Teiichi was at Cape Ashizuri.
  • Akaza confirmed Tanjiro was telling the truth and decided not to leave anyone awake to warn Teiichi.
  • Akaza raised his hand to knock Tanjiro and the others unconscious, while Tanjiro protested.

Ch. 266Modified wind

Ch. 269Target

Teiichi fought Kokushibo, Akaza, and Doma while Hantengu, Gyokko, and Daki stayed back and waited for an opening. After Kokushibo unleashed a powerful Moon Breathing attack, Teiichi realized he could not afford to fight all three at once and began considering Doma as his next target.

  • Daki asked Hantengu and Gyokko how she could support the battle, and Gyokko told her to wait because the fight had only begun.
  • Teiichi countered Kokushibo, Akaza, and Doma as he assessed their relative strength and considered targeting the demons who had not joined the fight.
  • Kokushibo unleashed his Eighth Form, Moon-Dragon Ringtail, but Teiichi began overpowering him before Doma's icicles forced Teiichi to retreat.
  • Teiichi judged that he could handle two opponents but would struggle against three, then considered targeting Doma to thin the enemy ranks.
  • Hantengu, Gyokko, and Daki cautiously followed the fighters through the forest, retreating whenever Teiichi seemed likely to approach them.

Ch. 272Battling the Six Upper Ranks

Teiichi fought Kokushibo and the other demons while Hantengu’s group joined the battle and worsened his exhaustion. Unable to reach Hantengu through the demons guarding him, Teiichi used the Wind Field to raise a barrier of branches, leaves, sand, and dirt, leaving the battlefield obscured.

  • Doma thanked Sekido for saving him, and Sekido promised that Hantengu’s group would attack Teiichi when they found an opening.

  • Daki asked Sekido and Gyokko what they should do now that they had lost sight of Teiichi.

Ch. 273At a Loss

Daki, Sekido, and Gyokko tried to find a way through Teiichi’s wind wall so they could attack him from afar. Daki briefly opened a view of the battlefield with her sashes, but the wind overwhelmed them, leaving the demons unable to reach or strike Teiichi.

  • Daki asked Sekido and Gyokko what they should do, and Sekido rejected the idea of using his lightning against the wind wall.

  • Daki sent her sashes through the wall, revealing Teiichi as he blocked Kokushibo’s attack and dodged Sekido’s lightning.
  • Sekido and Gyokko attacked through the opening, but Teiichi dodged their strikes as the wind bent Daki’s sashes.

Ch. 274The Stone Hashira Arrives

Gyomei Himejima arrived to help Teiichi, who was fighting Kokushibo, Akaza, and Doma while keeping Hantengu, Gyokko, and Daki at bay. As Kokushibo resumed his attack, Teiichi told Gyomei to hold off the three outer Upper Ranks.

  • Gyokko and Sekido attacked Gyomei Himejima with slime-fish and lightning, breaking through his Stone Skin defense and tearing at his body.
  • Gyomei Himejima recalled Teiichi's words about the Transparent World, sharpened his perception, and drove the fish away with his chain.
  • Gyomei Himejima leaped into the air and used Stone Breathing, Fifth Form: Arcs of Justice, killing Sekido while Gyokko escaped into his pot.
  • Teiichi noticed Gyomei's awakening through the Wind Field and turned his attention back to fighting Kokushibo, Doma, and the others.

  • Kokushibo appeared above Teiichi and began Ninth Form: Waning Moons, Swathes.

Ch. 277Dead Silence

Gyomei discovered that Kato had been transported into the Infinity Castle, where Teiichi faced all six Upper Ranks without a way out. Teiichi refused Kokushibo’s offer to become a demon and fought on as his strength faded and wounds began to accumulate.

  • Zohakuten and the other demons withdrew through Nakime’s doorways after Muzan ordered them to return and deal with a Demon Slayer.
  • Gyomei searched the silent battlefield and realized that Kato had been taken into the Infinity Castle with the demons.
  • Teiichi landed inside the Infinity Castle and saw six figures waiting above him, while Muzan remained absent.
  • Kokushibo offered Teiichi one last chance to become a demon, but Teiichi silently refused and drew his blade across his palm.
  • The six Upper Ranks attacked Teiichi, who blocked their blows and dodged the lightning until exhaustion slowed him and the first cuts opened on his body.

Ch. 278Teardrops

After the battle, Kanae and Shinobu Kocho learned that Teiichi had disappeared alongside the demons, and Kanae struggled to accept the possibility that he was gone. Shinobu found Kanae alone, silently crying over the crescent-moon necklace he had given her.

  • Kanae and Shinobu Kocho found the battlefield devastated and searched for Teiichi and Gyomei Himejima.
  • Gyomei Himejima told them that Teiichi and Upper Ranks One, Two, and Three had vanished, and he believed Teiichi had been teleported away with the demons.

Ch. 280A sea of stars

Teiichi used the Infinity Castle’s unusual gravity and his Wind Field to evade Kokushibo and the others while building up the wind inside the castle. After many failed attempts, he finally formed a Wind Blade, and more began appearing throughout the Infinity Castle.

  • Teiichi considered ways to escape and decided that destroying the Infinity Castle on a massive scale might work.
  • Teiichi fell from the building and used his Wind Field to change direction, making it difficult for Kokushibo and the others to pursue him.
  • Akaza called for Nakime, who sent buildings hurtling toward Teiichi as he dodged or cut through them.
  • Teiichi kept the gales circling inside the Infinity Castle until their force impeded Kokushibo and the others and widened the distance between them.
