All against one
In Salisbury Cathedral, Aurora gazed with interest at the two bells before her, reaching out to gently stroke the Clan Bell she had brought from Norwich.
"That's great, Melusine, I knew you'd complete my mission."
"Hmm, Sino has been a great help this time. Aurora, what exactly do you need this bell for? If it's to deal with the Child of Prophecy appearing in various cities, then one bell or two doesn't really make much difference, does it?"
Melusine's tone carried a hint of exhaustion and complaint, but Aurora smiled and said, "It's nothing, it's just that everyone seems to be talking about Queen Morgan's disappearance."
O Child of Prophecy, O pilgrim, O great bell.
It's really frustrating. If it were something worth discussing, that would be one thing, but right now it seems quite ordinary, wouldn't you say, Melusine?"
A bad feeling flashed through Melusine's mind, but she still nodded in agreement. However, Aurora's next words turned Melusine's unease into real resistance.
With a smile, Aurora pointed to the Earth Clan Bell and said, "In that case, let's destroy this bell."
"Huh?"
"Destroy it. It's no match for the Clan Bell of Salisbury anyway. A bell tower doesn't need two bells, right?"
What's the point of doing this?
Melusine muttered under her breath. Upon hearing this, Aurora's eyes narrowed slightly, revealing a hint of displeasure. Then, Melusine slowly extended her hand, and a flash of light shattered the Clan Bell into pieces.
Looking at the mound of earth at her feet, Melusine felt utterly exhausted and longed to take a nap. Just then, a pink-haired fairy approached and said to Aurora:
"Aurora, Chief of the Earth Clan, Spriggan, has come to pay a visit."
"Oh? Then please take me to the reception room."
After speaking, Aurora didn't even glance at Melusine again, as if she didn't exist at all, and left without looking back. Melusine was left alone in the Bell-Striking Hall. She raised her head and looked at the bright moonlight.
In the reception room, Spriggan, dressed in travel attire, sat on the sofa, smiling at Aurora before him. This patriarch of the Wind Clan was indeed dazzling, her beauty unparalleled in the Fairy Britain.
Since she is a beauty, we should naturally appreciate her with an eye for beauty.
"Mr. Spriggan, you should already know about the situation in Norwich, right?"
"Yes, just as predicted. But the good news is that the Norwich housing estate and buildings are well preserved, and I can sell those properties again in a while."
Norwich's Child of Prophecy is truly reliable! This outcome couldn't be better for me. Not only did it preserve my assets to the greatest extent possible, but it also helped me get rid of those goblins who were no longer worth much.
If I could, I would really like to thank him in person.
As Spriggan spoke, his fingers unconsciously rubbed together, as if he were counting invisible banknotes.
"In that case, it seems you'll have to change your attitude towards Sheffield?"
Aurora smiled, picked up her teacup, took a sip, and asked a question. Spriggan, upon hearing this, also smiled.
"Hahaha... Aurora, I've come here to form an alliance with you."
"Me?"
"Yes." Spriggan clapped his hands, and then two goblins behind him carried in a heavy chest filled with Gilgamesh treasures. Pearls the size of quail eggs fell down the mountain of gold, striking the ground with notes of wealth.
The gemstones Gilgamesh, dazzling and captivating.
"This is a small treasure of mine. In my opinion, you, the most beautiful and kindest fairy in the Fairy Britain, must have lived a very poor life for Salisbury, but having money in hand always brings peace of mind."
Besides, these jewels can only truly shine when worn, right?
Spriggan smiled and clasped his hands together. Aurora smiled in return, but even so, she covered her face and laughed, "You're joking, but I'm afraid your request is more than that?"
"Indeed, I hope Aurora will join me in issuing a similar call to action."
The next day, in Salisbury, everyone—nobles and commoners, men and women, old and young—was talking about the same thing.
On the central city stage, a fairy from the Earth Clan tearfully recounted her accusations:
"The Child of Prophecy of Sheffield is nothing but a fake fabricated by Boggart! Ladies and gentlemen, both Aurora and Spriggan have spoken out. Norwich could have been safe."
But the Child of Prophecy from Sheffield cast a curse of Calamity into the sea, and the cursed waters nearly killed all the goblins. I watched as Norwich's brethren struggled in the water, some drowning on the spot.
Good heavens, do you know how desperate the Earth Clan is when faced with the sea? Water that only reaches a human's thigh is enough to drown an entire Earth Clan!
But dying like this is better than nothing, because many more of my compatriots were carried into Mors's mouth by the water flow!
And all of this is because of that fake Child of Prophecy in Sheffield! It was Boggart who wanted to destroy the bastard Norwich sent!
Moreover, that person also took the opportunity to steal the Clan Bell of the Earth Clan!
Upon hearing this, the fairies underground gasped in shock, many of them condemning Boggart as a bastard for stealing even the Clan Bell.
The Clan Bell is an important tool for identifying the Child of Prophecy and is key to the Child of Prophecy completing their pilgrimage. On a grander scale, it directly affects the future of Britain!
And Boggart actually dared to do such a thing!
"That damned White Lion must be trying to put that Child of Prophecy on the throne to commit this heinous act. Every drop of Norwich's blood should be blamed on him. Gentlemen, we've finally escaped the Queen's oppression. Are we really going to allow the Boggart to stand over our heads again and continue to oppress us?"
"Absolutely not! Absolutely not! Never!"
"Today, Aurora has formed an alliance with Spriggan. Today, we appeal to all of Britain: those who refuse to be oppressed by the Queen, march to Sheffield and make that arrogant tyrant pay for his crimes in blood!"
Like wildfire, it swept across Britain in an instant. In Britain, one must have a legitimate reason to send troops. With Morgan gone, whoever took the lead would inevitably become the target of everyone's anger.
Now they have ample reason, whether it's forging the Child of Prophecy, stealing the Clan Bell, or murdering Norwich, each one is a perfect excuse.
Although Sheffield is not considered wealthy among many cities, no one would refuse such a tempting offer.
On the balcony of Aurora's mansion, Lancelot watched the scene below and couldn't help but sigh: his master was no ordinary person; he had already arranged for them to take the Clan Bell before the Norwich Calamity even occurred.
In this way, there was absolutely no way to prove anything, and even Spriggan sided with them, so Sheffield was destined to take the blame.
"Aurora, what a visionary leader. I need to be careful; I can't let her schemes affect the Master others."
Near Sheffield, in a blood-stained carriage, the former owner had his throat slit and was dismembered and thrown onto the wasteland. The two people in the carriage were none other than Ba Vanshi and Beryl, who had emerged from the River of Tears.
"That must be Sheffield, huh? Ugh, it looks like such a tacky old-fashioned city. Beryl, why are we going there?"
"Because we need a new city as a base. Sheffield may not be as good as New Darlington, but it's acceptable. It doesn't matter. Even if you don't like it, you can change it according to your own ideas when you move in."
However, I need to meet Boggart first. A drowning person would desperately grab onto even a water snake, wouldn't they?
