Pleasing others
Salisbury, the most beautiful and radiant city in the Fairy Britain, second only to Camelot, the city home to the Wind Clan, is now utterly destroyed.
In the armory, Lancelot emerged covered in blood. Deep within, a massive black dog lay lifeless. Lancelot felt that Aurora was exactly like those mythical women sent by the gods to destroy the world; her mere existence would bring endless calamity.
Even though the fairy from Coral had previously suggested that she train the fairies of Salisbury herself, Aurora showed absolutely no interest and even decided that she should ignore him.
Poor Coral, she was turned into an insect and trampled to death by Aurora for offering her advice.
Lancelot only needed to stay by his side, and the people below only needed to continue as before, without taking any defensive measures. That attitude... was simply like not wanting to do it, like a young child with poor psychological development who is sick but refuses to get a shot or take medicine because he is afraid of the pain.
This is utterly absurd.
Thus, Salisbury had absolutely no systematic measures to deal with the Calamity, and when the Calamity of the Beast struck, it was too late. The enormous Calamity of the Beast rushed directly into the city without any hindrance, and a large number of people gathered in Salisbury. Apart from coming out to say a few words every day, Aurora did not provide any substantial help or planning.
So, what's the difference between the dog food in Salisbury and the dog food in the pet food bowl?
"After taking Aurora out this time, I have to go back. The Master should be in the final stage, and I must go and lend a helping hand."
Alas, Lancelot, Lancelot, you have truly fallen. So far on this Lostbelt journey, you haven't been of any help to your Master at all.
"Once I get back, I'll probably be severely tortured by the King."
Lancelot slapped himself, filled with remorse for his obsession with nymphs. He sheathed his sword, looked in Camelot's direction, and took a deep breath.
"Don't be afraid, Master, I'm coming right away!"
Just then, a streak of crimson lightning flashed by, and a massive figure suddenly appeared behind Lancelot. At a glance, it was none other than the Calamity of the Beast.
"Oh no!"
Lancelot instinctively reached for his sword, but it was too late to draw it now. He knew very well how fast this monster was; his long martial arts training told him that he would lose at least an arm this time.
But the expected bite did not occur. The Calamity of the Beast sniffed Lancelot's body and then let out a low growl. Upon seeing this, Lancelot immediately retreated and then drew his Arondight and assumed a fighting stance.
"Why didn't this guy eat me? Could it be that it's actually still a dog at heart and can be tamed?"
Just as Lancelot Storm his brains, the Calamity of the Beast let out a painful groan, as if someone had pierced its skull with a steel needle. Then, several human voices could be heard uttered from the air above the beast.
"No... I'm not a fairy... I don't even look like one... I promised, I can't hurt humans, I can't hurt the weak... Waaah."
The Calamity of the Beast uttered these words in a low voice, then charged towards the other side where the fairies had gathered, leaving Lancelot behind. Lancelot watched the Calamity of the Beast depart and let out a deep breath.
"What exactly is this guy...?"
"Lancelot, has that monster left?"
From a corner of the ruins behind him, Aurora emerged. This time, Lancelot dared not sheath his sword. He nodded and said, "Yes, that guy didn't hurt me. That's strange."
"That's wonderful! Your legs are still intact, right? Then take me to Camelot quickly!"
"To Camelot?"
"Yes, to Camelot." Aurora crossed her arms, revealing a childlike, innocent smile. "Her Majesty Morgan is back, isn't she? She's in Camelot. If she's there, then we can start over as many times as we want, we can rebuild Britain as many times as we want."
And she just said she's taking Britain to a place without curses or the end of the world. That's amazing! I can't wait to see what kind of magical experiences we'll have there.
As he listened to Aurora's words, Lancelot's expression gradually froze. He parted his dry lips, wanting to speak, but then he thought that this was not the place to talk.
He scooped Aurora arms and rushed out of the city without looking back, leading her to a small, seemingly Mors creek and forest, where he then put Aurora down.
"Alas, such actions are far too barbaric. My knight, fetch me a carriage of clan chief's caliber."
Aurora remained unchanged. Lancelot took a deep breath and then said to Aurora somewhat solemnly, "Lady Aurora, my repayment of this debt of gratitude ends here."
"Huh? Why? What are you talking about? Quickly find a carriage and take me to Camelot!"
Lancelot wasn't a mere sycophant like Melusine; he could clearly distinguish right from wrong, and his patience with this guy's stupidity had reached its limit.
"Aurora, you must have heard Morgan's announcement before. Do you consider yourself innocent? Stealing and damaging the Clan Bell, communicating with the Clan of the King to rebel, and... a whole host of other minor things that I can't even count."
"If you go to Camelot, Morgan will probably chop off your head without hesitation, won't he?"
Will it?
Lancelot felt a surge of blood rush to the top of his head; how could a person be so clueless?
Yes, it will.
"In that case, take me to that Pan-Human History you mentioned."
"Ha?"
Faced with this request, Lancelot looked bewildered, while Aurora smiled and said, "I asked you to take me to the Pan-Human History. I'm getting tired of Britain. Let's just leave it at that. As long as I go to the Pan-Human History, that's enough."
"Continue to shine, continue to be surrounded like a pearl, and then, even more people will be around me, right?"
No way! This girl is completely oblivious to the fact that she's demanding everyone else fawn over her. Once she leaves the Fairy Britain, her inherently wicked nature will be revealed.
She felt she was nothing more than a shell, and wanted to destroy anything more beautiful than herself.
"No..."
"Ha?"
"As I said, it's all over. I must return to my Master to fulfill my duty."
"You dare defy me?"
"That's right, you should at least face the facts. The fact is, a guy like you is nothing but a menace. Melusine is incredibly lucky to have left you."
Lancelot!
A flash of light appeared in Aurora's hand, and a spell shot out towards Lancelot. This was the same spell she had used on Coral earlier. In Britain, only Fairy of Paradise could use Magecraft. Aurora was using a secret technique unique to the chieftain of the Wind Clan. However, this kind of thing was fine for dealing with ordinary fairies, but it had no effect on Lancelot, who possessed [Magic Resistance].
Arondight pressed the blade against her neck instantly, the cold edge of the sword bringing Aurora to her senses for a moment.
This delicate flower, carefully nurtured by Melusine, felt the coldness of reality for the first time.
"I think saving my life twice is enough to repay your kindness, Aurora. You'd better take care of yourself."
Lancelot sheathed his sword, turned and left.
"Lancelot, Lancelot!"
Aurora kept calling out, but Lancelot's heart was as hard as a rock and could not be shaken again.
"Sino!"
Upon hearing the name, Lancelot paused slightly. It was the name they had given him when he lost his memory. Memories flooded back, but Lancelot only felt annoyed.
"That's enough!"
However, the moment he turned around, he froze.
The feeling of death, the final betrayal—it was the purest form of education. Secret arts were meaningless, nobility vanished. What could she possibly hold onto? What could possibly pull her out of this predicament?
A wave of shame washed over Aurora. She, who had countless times enjoyed the adulation and adoration of others, now faced with annihilation, was forced to make a choice.
Those who were once pleased are now forced to please others.
It's alright, no one will know. As long as I leave this place, I will still be the beautiful Aurora.
Beside the stream, the dress lay to the side like a wrung-out rag. Aurora stood there without reservation, a forest fairy, so beautiful.
Sorry, Master, please wait for me for another hour.
Lancelot thought to himself.
