Reclaiming the Thunder Hammer, Thor's Power Returns
The wind swirled scorched earth and ice shards within the empty cabin, and sparks still crackled from the broken metal wreckage. Ye Mo's right leg was completely powerless; the Steel Bone was shattered and stuck in the joint, and every breath felt like a dull knife scraping against his ribs. He leaned against a broken stone pillar, blood dripping from his left shoulder down the seam of his work pants, one drop, two drops, hitting the congealed black mist at his feet with a soft hiss.
On the high platform, Malekith slowly withdrew his hand, black mist once again swirling around his body. His gaze fell on Ye Mo, no longer with the contempt of "an ant jumping around," but with a hint of assessment. It was as if he was taking this guy, who shouldn't have been on the battlefield, seriously for the first time.
Ye Mo looked at him, grinned, and this time didn't say anything. He just raised his right hand and made a "please go ahead" gesture, exactly the same as when he froze the enemy earlier.
That's such a cheap move.
Thor, who had just landed and regained his footing, almost burst out laughing at the absurdity of it.
But no one moved.
The air pressure was so high it made eardrums throb. The aftershocks of the shockwave still lingered on the ground. The edges of the charred metal plates were slightly raised, like pieces of paper baked by the high temperature. Mjolnir lay on the scorched earth fifteen meters away, its handle pointing downwards into a crack. The Hammerhead was shrouded in a layer of viscous black mist, as if it were parasitized by something, and its surface gleamed with an ominous purple light.
Thor stared at it, a golden glint flashing in his eyes.
He knew he only had one chance.
If this drags on any longer, once Malekith recovers, the three of them will have to fight to the death in this dilapidated spaceship.
Could they charge through? The middle was an open field, with no cover or shelter, completely exposed. Malekith could simply raise his hand, and a black blade would pin him to the ground.
He waited.
Waiting for an opening.
Waiting for a distraction.
Ye Mo took a breath, wiped his face, his palms were covered in sweat and dust. He knew Thor was waiting for a signal. He also knew that in his current state, it would be a miracle if he could even stand up, let alone attack. But precisely because of this—the weaker he appeared, the more like Feint.
He suddenly raised his voice. "That's it? Your move just now must have had a high electricity bill, right? I'm calculating, at New York electricity prices, it would burn up three Teslas in a second."
Malekith didn't even lift his eyelids.
But Ye Mo saw it— Thor's toes twitched.
Now!
He lunged forward suddenly, his movements exaggerated like a wrestler about to take down his opponent, but in reality, his right leg couldn't support him at all, and he fell sideways to the side, making it look like a surprise attack.
Malekith hesitated for a second as expected.
Black mist condensed in his palm, but he didn't attack immediately—he was judging whether this was the main attack.
It's that half-beat.
Thor slammed his feet into the ground, and with a deafening boom, the metal plate beneath his feet shattered, propelling him forward like a cannonball! He kept his body extremely low, his cloak fluttering behind him like a bolt of lightning tearing through the darkness.
Malekith finally realized what was happening, roared, and the black mist instantly condensed into chains, rushing straight at Mjolnir, trying to sweep it away!
It's too late.
Thor had already rushed within ten meters.
The black mist chains roared in, about to wrap around the hammer, but Thor didn't grab them directly. Instead, he stomped hard on the end of the hammer handle!
Thump!
With a muffled thud, the hammer trembled slightly from the force, and the chain grazed the Hammerhead before missing its target.
Using the force of that step, Thor somersaulted in the air, avoiding the second chain, and landed on one knee, slamming his left hand into the ground!
"Boom!"
A shockwave exploded outwards, scattering the nearby black mist, sending scorched earth flying and scattering gravel.
He looked up, staring directly at Malekith on the platform, a wide grin revealing a set of white teeth. "You don't understand... it doesn't recognize the arm, it recognizes the heart."
Before he finished speaking, his right hand slowly extended, palm facing the hammer handle.
The air seemed to freeze.
Malekith roared, and a third chain tore through the air, moving so fast it left afterimages.
But just as Thor's fingers touched the hammer handle—
Buzz!
An invisible wave emanated from the hammer, and the black mist swirling around it emitted a sharp hiss, like a snake caught in scorching iron pincers, rapidly disintegrating and evaporating!
"No--!" Malekith roared.
The next second, the sky split open.
A bolt of silvery-white lightning descended from the sky, striking the top of the hammer with pinpoint accuracy, causing a deafening explosion that shook the entire spaceship!
The electric current surged wildly along the hammer, instantly filling Thor's entire body. He roared to the sky, his muscles bulged, his veins snaked through his skin like lightning serpents, his cloak billowed wildly, and his eyes blazed with golden light, as if his whole being had been set ablaze!
The power of God of Thunder has returned in full force!
The air above the scorched earth was distorted by the high-voltage electric field, the ground cracked, and fine electric arcs crawled out of the cracks, crackling loudly. Thor slowly stood up, gripped the hammer handle, grounded the hammer tip, and the current spread outwards like a spider web. Wherever it passed, the remaining black mist was purified, and the charred metal plate even faintly gleamed with a silver light.
He glanced down at Mjolnir in his hand and whispered, "Old friend, I'm back."
Then he looked up, coldly staring at Malekith on the high platform, his voice like thunder rolling across the ruins. "Now, it's my turn."
On the high platform, Malekith stood still, surrounded by black mist. He was unharmed, but his expression was gloomy, revealing a hint of fear for the first time. He didn't move, nor did he make another move. He had thought that his attack just now would completely suppress these intruders. But now, the god whose weapon he had knocked away was holding a hammer, standing in the center, surrounded by lightning, his aura rising steadily.
He realized for the first time that the situation had changed.
Ye Mo leaned against a stone pillar, panting heavily. His right leg was completely useless, and blood was still flowing from his left shoulder, but a smile played on his lips. He looked at Thor, who had stood up again, and muttered to himself, "At least... that blow wasn't for nothing."
He didn't charge forward again, nor did he shout "Let's go!" Instead, he slowly took two steps back, pressing his back more firmly against the stone pillar to reduce the burden on his right leg. He was conscious, his eyes fixed on the center of the battlefield, his fingers unconsciously digging into the edge of the hole in his work pants, ready to provide support at any moment.
The wind rushed in through the damaged bulkhead, carrying the smell of burning metal and ice shards.
The three remained standing in the same spot, their positions unchanged, the distance between them the same, and their fighting stance unchanged.
The shield is gone, but something else has changed.
Thor stood in the center, hammer in hand, tip touching the ground. An electric current slowly spread, purifying the scorched earth beneath his feet. He stared coldly at Malekith, his voice like rolling thunder. "Now, it's my turn."
Ye Mo dragged his injured leg back two steps, leaning against the broken stone pillar. His breath was still ragged, but a slight smile played on his lips. He looked at Thor, who had stood upright again, and murmured to himself, "At least... that blow wasn't for nothing."
On the high platform, Malekith slowly raised his hand, and the black mist condensed again, but no longer with impatience. He stared at Thor, his eyes somber, as if reassessing the odds of winning this battle.
Thor took a step, the ground cracked, and arcs of electricity spread with his footsteps.
Ye Mo raised his eyelids, staring at the increasingly thick black mist, his fingers slowly clenching.
Malekith's fingertips began to glow.
