Total suppression, taking control of the battle
The enemy aircraft was still fifteen meters above the ground.
Fine cracks began to appear at the edges of Emma Frost's shield.
The electric current at the tip of Thor's hammer changed from blue to white.
Ye Mo lay on the ground, his mouth filled with the taste of rust. He didn't know if he had vomited blood, but there was a metallic sweetness in his throat that surged up with every breath. His head felt like it was being drilled into his temples by two electric drills, the ringing in his ears hadn't subsided, and the images before his eyes were still slightly blurry—the "Time Perception Acceleration" move from before was like formatting his brain like a USB drive, and now even when he plugged it back in, loading was slow.
But he didn't have time to worry about that.
The leader on the left had already steadied himself, the tip of his blade against the ground, and was adjusting his breathing; the one on the right front was clutching his smoking shoulder armor, his eyes filled with malice; the one in the sky had circled around a large circle and was slowly descending again.
They are reorganizing.
Ye Mo picked at the pebbles in the cracks in the ground, ignoring the broken fingernail he broke. He knew that the next attack wouldn't be a simple three-pronged assault; it could very well be a one-shot kill.
But just then, Thor suddenly chuckled softly, his voice low but piercing the deathly silence of the battlefield. "That shout of yours just now, thirty degrees to the left... pretty accurate."
Ye Mo was panting heavily, like a broken bellows, and barely managed to look up at him. "System notification, understand? In critical moments, we still have to rely on official guidance."
"Oh? Then why doesn't your system send me a tactical briefing?" Thor flicked his wrist, Mjolnir spinning in his palm, crackling with electricity.
"Don't you have a brain?" Ye Mo gritted his teeth and propped himself up on one side. His crippled right leg was completely useless, and he had to rely entirely on his left arm and his Steel Bone frame to hold on. "Besides, you're a god, and you still need a system to carry you? Aren't you ashamed?"
Thor grinned, about to retort, when suddenly he caught a glimpse of a cold glint in the shadows to his left—someone was attacking!
He reacted incredibly quickly, swinging the hammer handle horizontally and delivering a wide, sweeping blow. With a muffled "bang," the Dark Elves who had been stealthily approaching was sent flying as if hit by a truck, crashing into a pile of twisted metal and remaining motionless on the spot.
"Thanks," Ye Mo said in a low voice, using the momentum to scoot forward half a meter, finally managing to get out of the blind spot of the stone pillar.
"Don't mention it." Thor's eyes sharpened. "But next time you remind me of the three o'clock position behind me, could you do it earlier?"
Before the words were even finished, the swooping figure in the sky finally crashed down again, its exhaust leaving blinding streaks of fire, moving at such speed that the air itself seemed to vibrate.
"Here it comes!" Ye Mo roared, not having time to think, and immediately poured all the energy he could muster into his left arm— Steel Bone Reassembly! The cracked metal skin crackled and popped, forcefully creating a shield.
"Boom!"
The black blade struck the Steel Bone arm, Mars flying everywhere. Ye Mo's entire arm trembled violently, his bones shaking. But he didn't let go; instead, he pushed forward forcefully, using the recoil to slam into the opponent's chest.
The man hadn't expected him to retaliate, and was caught off guard, staggered, and the aircraft instantly lost its balance, crashing headlong to the ground.
Thor had been waiting for this moment.
He raised Mjolnir high and hissed, "Enough!"
In an instant, three bolts of lightning struck in succession, accurately hitting the leader who had just stood up on the right, the out-of-control aircraft in the sky, and the two henchmen who were trying to flank him on the left. The lightning exploded, and the smell of burning filled the air. The men either convulsed and fell to the ground, or their equipment started smoking and malfunctioned.
For the first time, they took control of the battlefield's rhythm.
"Emma Frost!" Ye Mo shouted as he turned around, his voice hoarse and inhuman, "Keep an eye on their minds! Anyone trying to coordinate communications, disrupt them immediately!"
Emma Frost sat on a high rock on the right, sweat beading on her forehead, her face as pale as paper. Her eyes were closed, her fingers pressing her temples; her mental energy was already on the verge of exhaustion, but when she heard Ye Mo call her name, she forced her eyes open.
"I'm here..." Her voice was so soft it was almost inaudible, but the next second her eyes widened abruptly, "Two on the left flank, prepare to flank! Target: Thor!"
Thor turned around at the sound, his hammer sweeping out horizontally, an arc of lightning exploding along the ground, forcing the two rogues to tumble and dodge in a sorry state.
"Well done!" Ye Mo dragged his crippled leg forward, each step feeling like walking on a knife's edge, yet he walked with unwavering determination. He stood in the center of the battlefield, his Steel Bone broken, his left arm torn open, looking like a mechanical corpse crawling out of the ruins, yet his spine remained ramrod straight.
"You lot," he said, pointing to the remaining seven or eight Dark Elves, his tone as casual as if he were ordering food, "Are you planning to take your turn to be beaten, or surrender? I suggest the latter; after all, I'm injured and don't want to move around much."
No one answered.
But the atmosphere changed.
The overwhelming momentum of the previous encirclement and annihilation was gone, replaced by hesitation, wavering, and even a hint of fear. They had originally thought they were only there to harvest three severely wounded soldiers, but the enemy not only did not fall, but also began to fight back.
Ye Mo didn't give them time to hesitate.
He suddenly lunged forward, his movements clumsy yet swift, his Steel Bone Body crashing into the center of the enemy ranks, knocking over two of the forward-positioned men. The sound of metal colliding with flesh was enough to make one's teeth ache, and he himself was jolted so badly that blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, but he didn't stop.
"Thor! Catch!" he yelled.
Thor understood, Mjolnir flew out of his hand, tracing a silvery arc in the air.
Ye Mo leaped into the air, grabbed the hammer handle with his still-usable right hand, and slammed it hard into the ground using the momentum!
"Boom--!"
The circular radio wave exploded, the ground cracked, and all the Dark Elves within a five or six-meter radius were thrown to the ground, some of them immediately losing consciousness.
This blow exhausted his last bit of strength. When he landed, his knees buckled, and he almost collapsed. But he held on, one knee on the ground, one hand supporting himself on the hammer, the other on the ground, his head bowed, panting as if he were about to suffocate.
But no one dared to step forward.
Because at that moment, Emma Frost opened her eyes.
Her pupils gleamed with a silvery-white light, and her Telepathy fully activated, no longer limited to early warning but directly invading the minds of every enemy who could still move—not to attack, but to interfere. She made them hear hallucinations, see double images, and unable to distinguish which direction was reality and which command was a trap.
"Retreat... retreat!" someone finally shouted.
But no one could carry out the order. The formation was in disarray, the chain of command had broken, and even the three leaders hadn't fully recovered, let alone the rest of the group.
Thor walked over slowly, picked up Mjolnir, and gently patted Ye Mo on the shoulder. "Not bad, Mr. X, you're doing pretty well."
"Enough nonsense..." Ye Mo coughed up a mouthful of blood. "Help me up, I'm still standing."
Thor laughed and reached out to pull him up.
The two stood side by side, with Emma Frost gradually waking up behind them. The three of them formed a triangle and slowly moved forward.
The remaining Dark Elves retreated step by step; some had already turned and fled, while many others held their weapons but dared not take another step forward.
The situation has completely reversed.
From the brink of life and death just minutes ago to the enemy now trembling in fear, they have personally turned the tide of this battle.
"Look over there," Emma Frost suddenly said, her voice weak but clear.
Following her gaze, everyone saw several more black spaceships approaching from the depths of space, their outlines clearly visible.
Reinforcements are still on their way.
But they were no longer afraid.
Ye Mo wiped the blood from his face and grinned, "However many come, I'll beat them all up."
Thor raised Mjolnir, and lightning coalesced once more.
Emma Frost closed her eyes, and her mental energy returned to normal.
The three of them remained silent, yet simultaneously assumed an offensive stance with perfect coordination.
Just then, the flying leader in the sky finally crawled out of the wreckage, his face charred black and his eyes filled with venom. He stared intently at Ye Mo and hissed, "You think you've won? Lord Malekith... won't let any of you go—"
Ye Mo interrupted him, "Oh, your boss? I'll beat him up again when he gets here."
After saying that, he raised his left hand, and with a "click," a twisted metal fragment popped out from his Steel Bone arm—the reflective film that he had previously hidden in his pocket.
He waved his hand at the sky, grinned, and said, "Here's a close-up of you. Remember to pass on the message."
The leader was stunned, clearly not understanding what this meant.
The next second, Thor unleashed a bolt of lightning that struck the core of his spacecraft, sending flames soaring into the sky.
The remaining Dark Elves completely collapsed and turned to flee, some jumping onto the remaining flying vehicles, others simply leaping into the void to escape.
The encirclement collapsed.
All that remained on the battlefield were burning wreckage, charred corpses, and three wounded yet still standing figures.
Ye Mo's legs went weak and he almost fell over, but Thor caught him.
"I mean... shouldn't we go after them?" he asked, panting.
"You want to pursue her?" Thor raised an eyebrow.
"Otherwise what?" Ye Mo sneered, "I've already come to their doorstep, wouldn't I be ready to wreck their entire base?"
Emma Frost slowly walked over, her face still pale, but her eyes resolute. "I can continue to provide intelligence support... as long as you don't make me take the fall again."
"Don't worry," Ye Mo patted her shoulder, "I'll have Thor handle it next time."
"Why me?" Thor glared.
"Because you have thick skin." Ye Mo grinned, then looked down at his Steel Bone Body riddled with cracks. "Okay, I guess I'm half thick-skinned too."
The three exchanged a glance and suddenly burst into laughter.
Laughter echoed through the ruins, tinged with the stench of blood, yet also with a triumphant joy at surviving a catastrophe.
In the distance, a new fleet is still approaching.
Emma Frost's fingers trembled slightly, but she didn't put them down.
The lightning on Thor's hammer tip had not yet died down.
Ye Mo, leaning on Mjolnir, walked forward step by step.
