Holding a Flower with a Smile, the Buddha Ancestor's Direct Heir
In a future timeline not too far removed from the time of the Dao Ancestor.
At that time, Amitabha Buddha's reincarnation had become the Buddha Ancestor, establishing the Buddhist lineage's system of practice.
Under the Buddha Ancestor's command, there were ten great disciples, three hundred monks, and eight thousand Outer Dao who voluntarily followed him to practice the great vow of saving all sentient beings.
It was both an imitation of the Dao Ancestor and an attempt to better articulate his own philosophy.
Every so often, the Buddha Ancestor would hold the Spirit Mountain Dharma Assembly at Vulture Peak to answer the questions of his followers.
On one occasion, the Great Brahma Heavenly King, a guardian deity of Outer Dao sects, offered a golden Bora Flower in order to invite the Buddha Ancestor to preach.
After accepting the flowers, the Buddha Ancestor did not begin to preach or give any teachings.
Chi simply picked up the golden Bora Flower and silently showed it to his followers.
Everyone present remained silent, including Śāriputra, Maudgalyayana, and other disciples, who were all bewildered and did not know the meaning of the Buddha Ancestor's gesture, and could only respond with silence.
Just then, Venerable Mahākāśyapa, one of the ten disciples, suddenly smiled knowingly.
Seeing this, the Buddha Ancestor and Mahākāśyapa exchanged a smile and immediately announced...
"I possess the true Dharma eye, the wondrous mind of Nirvana, the true formless reality, the subtle Dharma gate, which is not established in words, but transmitted separately outside the scriptures. I entrust it to Mahākāśyapa." From then on, Mahākāśyapa became the most orthodox successor of Buddhism, receiving the Buddha Ancestor's mantle.
After the Buddha Ancestor's passing, Mahākāśyapa used this as a basis to establish the Chan Buddhism, becoming the first true patriarch of Chan Buddhism.
That golden Bora Flower also became a major symbol of Mahākāśyapa.
"That Bora Flower... was it the object of Mahākāśyapa's Dao Proving?"
After listening to Li Boyang recount the story of the smile that appeared when the flower was touched, Jinjiao's eyes widened even more in astonishment.
He had considered that this Bora Flower had an extraordinary origin, but he never imagined that it was actually the object of Dao Proving of a Great Luo True Immortal who founded a sect.
"Wait, if that Bora Flower was the object of Mahākāśyapa's Dao Proving, then why is it in the hands of a Mahoraga?" "And what about that Wondrous Tree of Seven Treasures?"
Feeling that the more she knew, the more she realized how much she didn't know, Wangshu rubbed her temples, looking rather troubled, and asked.
"Mahākāśyapa wishes to attain Amala Consciousness, he naturally needs to allow his consciousness to penetrate deep into the Sea of Alaya Consciousness."
"However, allowing one's consciousness to penetrate deep into the Sea of Alaya Consciousness is itself an extremely dangerous act."
"Moreover, he also intends to infect the Sea of Alaya Consciousness with his own consciousness..."
"Even if his cultivation in the Manas Consciousness has surpassed that of the Buddha Ancestor at his peak, trying to achieve this is undoubtedly a pipe dream." Li Boyang said with absolute certainty, his eyes fixed on the image in the [Haotian Mirror].
The subconscious sea of all beings contains not only ordinary people.
Throughout history, all those who have accomplished great things have left their mark on the sea of their subconscious.
Even if they don't specialize in the Manas Consciousness like Buddhists, thus strengthening their attachment to self.
But there were simply too many of them.
Mahākāśyapa believed that by returning to the "past," to the era before the birth of Buddhism, he could attain the Amala Consciousness. Not to mention, in this era of the Dao Ancestor Daoist patriarch, the powerful consciousnesses and monsters lurking in the Sea of Alaya Consciousness are far more numerous than they appear on the surface.
Putting aside everything else, Li Boyang never separated himself from his Sea of Alaya Consciousness.
Therefore, if Mahākāśyapa wanted to attain Amala Consciousness, he had to find a way to influence Li Boyang's subconscious mind left in the Sea of Alaya Consciousness. "Another fool trying to take a shortcut..."
Having quickly grasped this point, Yinjiao offered his own assessment of Mahākāśyapa's actions.
"So he didn't attain the Amala Consciousness, but instead fell and became a demon king?"
"Is Mahoraga a manifestation of his obsession, which is why he possesses the object of his Dao Proving?"
Jinjiao's voice was filled with confusion, as if he felt things weren't as simple as he thought.
Despite the various behaviors and actions of Mahākāśyapa.
It was only natural that his obsession led him to become Mahoraga.
Even Mahoraga's various unusual behaviors now have a reasonable explanation.
But the thought that Mahākāśyapa would be known as the "most insightful" being in the future, and that he would actually fall into the Mahoraga, known for his foolishness and ignorance, seems particularly bizarre.
"You're overthinking it. That's clearly just a Mahoraga happened to possess the Bora Flower."
Having promptly refuted Jinjiao's speculation, Wangshu had regained her composure.
"The ability of the pool to constantly adapt and evolve is the Nine-Headed Serpent clan's ' Nine Transformations in One Day ' Divine Ability."
"And do you think it was just a coincidence that the shaman eventually arrived at the Hundred Lands Mountain Range through the Wondrous Tree of Seven Treasures?"
Before Jinjiao could even realize what was happening, Wangshu had already voiced her guess.
"The pond has nothing to do with Mahākāśyapa, but it is related to that evil dragon."
"I strongly suspect that Chi is the mother of that evil dragon, and the lord of the Black Water Pool —Nine Gui."
During the brief pause in their conversation, the scene in [Wutian Mirror] changed once again.
Lu Ya was the first to recover from his shock.
He stared in disbelief Mahoraga vanished into the fruit of the Wondrous Tree of Seven Treasures.
With Mahoraga's departure, the fruit also disappeared.
Because the fruit reflects the land that Mahoraga longs for, the unique place his heart desires.
Out of a leader's instinct and reason, Lu Ya did not blindly rush forward. Instead, he ordered the Garuda around him to immediately move away from the Wondrous Tree of Seven Treasures.
"Quick! Get out of here right now!"
Lu Ya knew better than anyone that this suddenly appearing Wondrous Tree of Seven Treasures would definitely become the core of the battlefield.
Whether it's probing the true nature of this Wondrous Tree of Seven Treasures or plundering this supreme treasure, it will attract the attention of those Dao Proving One.
It was only at this moment that Lu Ya realized he had been greedy for merit and acted rashly, now only one step away from the Great Luo battlefield.
Once affected by the battle between Śakra and Minghe.
Lu Ya might survive by sheer luck, but those loyal Garuda have absolutely no chance of survival.
Call out!
At Lu Ya's command, the Garuda quickly retreated.
But the Asura and Yakshas, who had already realized what was happening, persisted and emerged one by one from the turbulent Ocean of Milk.
Especially those flying Yakshas with wings on their backs, they fiercely attacked the Garuda, completely ignoring the Wondrous Tree of Seven Treasures that was so close at hand. In terms of combat power, the Yakshas might not be as good as the Asura.
However, in terms of ferocity, the Yakshas far surpass the Asura.
