Ch. 501Fetal Transformation and Shape Shifting, a Shortcut to Longevity

Li Xuandu continued practicing miraculous archery and helped Jun cultivate Fetal Transformation and Shape Shifting, explaining how the Divine Ability could lead to longevity. Jun invited him to fly a hang glider she had secretly borrowed from Flying Sky Stockade, leaving them with a plan to try it together.

  • Jun watched Li Xuandu practice and warned him that the dream-taught archery might come from an evil demon, but Li Xuandu insisted he could turn its power to his advantage.
  • Li Xuandu asked Jun about her progress with Fetal Transformation and Shape Shifting, and she showed him her incomplete transformation into a big-headed child.
  • Li Xuandu guided Jun in circulating her Life Primordial Qi and explained the stages of the Divine Ability, including its potential to grant longevity and many transformations.
  • Jun told Li Xuandu that Ni Rui and the others had secretly obtained a hang glider from Flying Sky Stockade and offered to let him fly it with her.

Ch. 502The schemes of those seeking Dao attainment

Yan Xiaojun warned Li Jingshu that Houyi’s strange archery lessons and growing ill omen suggested influence crossing from the past, and Li Jingshu revealed that Dayi was teaching him through the Sun-Shooting Divine Arrow. They discussed the uncertain connection to the Emperor Flow Pulp before Li Jingshu began recounting how Dayi’s fatal mistake led the Heavenly Emperor to discard him.

  • Yan Xiaojun complained that Houyi had beaten gods and caused trouble during the month Li Jingshu left him in his care.
  • Yan Xiaojun used his Bagua Compass and Foreknowledge of the Future to sense an ill omen around Houyi and an influence reaching from the past.
  • Li Jingshu revealed that Dayi, through the Sun-Shooting Divine Arrow, was teaching Houyi archery in his dreams.
  • Yan Xiaojun asked whether Houyi’s arrival was connected to the Emperor Flow Pulp, but Li Jingshu said she did not know; she explained that she had left Li Xuandu at River Pillow Peak because she feared what might happen.
  • Li Jingshu told Yan Xiaojun that Dayi had once been the Heavenly Emperor’s feared enforcer, but a fatal mistake caused the emperor to discard him.

Ch. 503The War of Shooting the Suns, the Rise of All Living Beings

Dayi’s fall from favor, his return to battle, and his eventual defeat of the Golden Crows shaped the rise of all living beings. As Yan Xiaojun and Li Jingshu examined the pivotal war’s mysteries, they debated why the Heavenly Emperor and Xihe had not intervened.

  • After killing the Xiu Snake, Dayi went to Mount Kunlun, where the Heavenly Emperor stripped him of his office and banished him to the mortal world.
  • Dayi spent ten years in seclusion with Heng'e, then took up arms again when all ten suns scorched the world.
  • The gods rescued the wounded Dayi and reforged his bow and arrows into the Sun-Shooting Bow and Sun-Shooting Arrows.
  • Dayi hunted the Golden Crows for years, grew stronger with each battle, and crossed the Divine Gate while fighting the Great Golden Crow.
  • Yan Xiaojun used Foreknowledge of the Future to witness the war and asked why the Heavenly Emperor never appeared.
  • Li Jingshu suggested that Xihe might have intervened to save her sons, while Yan Xiaojun countered that she may already have died.

Ch. 504Moonfall

On the Mid-Autumn full moon, Emperor Flow Pulp failed to appear, and Li Xuandu and Xianjun watched the moon suddenly descend toward the earth. The moon stopped after filling a third of the sky, but its surface began to crack as the Sun-Shooting Divine Arrow grew hot in Li Xuandu’s hand.

  • Li Boyang discussed the missing Emperor Flow Pulp with Li Xi, while Li Yu said he was content with his life and would not force himself to manifest a Primordial Spirit.
  • Li Xuandu told Xianjun that Mid-Autumn was traditionally a family reunion in his homeland and that this was his first time spending it alone.
  • Xianjun offered to keep Li Xuandu company, but the moon began falling toward the earth, triggering tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and fear among living things.
  • The moon stopped close enough to cover a third of the sky, and Xianjun clung to Li Xuandu in terror.
  • The Sun-Shooting Divine Arrow heated in Li Xuandu’s hand as the moon’s surface shifted and developed enormous visible fissures.

Ch. 505Palace of Vast Cold

The moon’s spacetime overlap pulled Li Jingshu and Lord Tiaoyao into the Palace of Vast Cold, while Li Boyang protected himself and the villagers from being drawn in. Li Jingshu and Lord Tiaoyao set off toward the palace’s heart, guided by her Bagua Compass.

  • Li Jingshu recognized that a moon from another spacetime was replacing their moon, creating dangerous temporal turbulence.
  • The overlap began pulling beings connected to the moon onto it, but Li Boyang used [Black and Yellow Qi] to shield himself and the villagers of Li Household Village.
  • Lord Tiaoyao and Li Jingshu arrived in a desolate palace, where Lord Tiaoyao armed himself and Li Jingshu accused him of forming a karmic connection by secretly learning Houyi’s archery.
  • Li Jingshu identified the palace as the Moon Palace, also called the Palace of Vast Cold, and noted that she did not know whether a moon deity lived there.
  • Li Jingshu used her Bagua Compass to point toward the heart of the Palace of Vast Cold, and Lord Tiaoyao recognized it as a remarkable instrument likely refined by Li Boyang.

Ch. 506The Shattered Great Yin Star

Li Xuandu and Lord Chui explored the Palace of Vast Cold, where Li Xuandu found a coffin that should have been empty and sensed a hidden secret within himself. Outside, they discovered the moon shattered around the palace, and Li Xuandu threatened to refine the silent Sun-Shooting Divine Arrow unless Dayi revealed its intentions.

  • Li Xuandu found twelve crystal coffins in the Palace of Vast Cold and was astonished to see the daughter of Great Yin in a coffin that he had expected to be empty, while the farthest coffin stood open and empty.
  • Li Xuandu said a secret seemed to be hidden within him, then used Fetal Transformation and Shape Shifting to give Lord Chui a temporary older human form.
  • Li Xuandu and Lord Chui left the palace by following Li Xuandu's unexplained sense of familiarity, and Lord Chui wondered whether Dayi had given him that ability.
  • Li Xuandu saw that the moon had shattered into countless fragments, while the area surrounding the Palace of Vast Cold remained intact and bitterly cold.
  • Li Xuandu used the Eight Trigrams Purple-Gold Furnace and Samadhi True Fire to dispel the cold, then threatened to refine the Sun-Shooting Divine Arrow unless Dayi appeared and explained itself.

Ch. 507She was different (Happy National Day, everyone!)

Li Xuandu questioned Dayi about his connection to the Moon Palace and learned that Heng'e was the god of the Moon Palace and his wife. After discovering that the shattered moon was a branch timeline where Heng'e lay in a crystal coffin, Li Xuandu suggested Dayi might have married Heng'e’s younger sister Chang'e instead, leaving Dayi unable to answer.

  • Dayi told Li Xuandu that his memories had awakened by coincidence and that his wife, Heng'e, was the god of the Moon Palace.
  • Dayi recounted meeting Heng'e when she was mortal and suggested the Heavenly Emperor had demoted her for opposing the ten suns.
  • Li Xuandu asked whether Heng'e had shattered the moon, and Dayi explained that the moon was a branched timeline where Heng'e remained in a crystal coffin and Chang'e had been demoted to the mortal world.
  • Li Xuandu reasoned that the Chang'e who left the coffin might have looked like her sisters and assumed Heng'e’s identity.
  • Li Xuandu asked Dayi how he knew the woman he married was Heng'e rather than Chang'e.

Ch. 508The Divine Laurel Tree, Sacrificing Herself to Become One with the Dao

Li Jingshu and Yan Xiaojun met Heng'e on a moon where the laurel tree still stood, and learned that she had repeatedly tried to resurrect her sisters across timelines. Heng'e explained that the Heavenly Emperor, Hao Jun, was behind the tragedies tied to the moon and urged them to warn her sister not to trust him.

  • Li Jingshu and Yan Xiaojun reached the intact moon and met Heng'e beneath the laurel tree.
  • Heng'e explained that her younger sister had sacrificed herself as the Sun-Shooting Arrow and had become Dayi’s wife while living under Heng'e’s identity.
  • Heng'e revealed that she had repeatedly tried to save her sisters, and that she intended to resurrect them even if she had to defy the Heavenly Emperor and kill her brothers.
  • Li Jingshu asked whether Heng'e had failed to save her sisters, while Yan Xiaojun feared that Heng'e had lost her sanity.
  • Heng'e said that the moon’s troubles in any era were connected to Hao Jun and told them to warn her sister not to trust their divine father.

Ch. 509Another timeline

Chang'e awakened on the Great Yin Star with her Divine Power restored and found Heng'e truly dead while her other ten sisters were gone. Vowing to find them, Chang'e began investigating the calamity and suspected the Heavenly Emperor had feared the power the Sun-Shooting Divine Arrows could wield against him.

  • Chang'e recalled how Heng'e had brought her from her original timeline, where she had sacrificed her life and divine soul to forge the Sun-Shooting Divine Arrows.
  • Chang'e awoke in a crystal coffin and found that ten of the eleven nearby coffins were open, while Heng'e's remained closed.
  • Chang'e discovered that Heng'e had died and vowed to find and bring back her other ten sisters.
  • Chang'e went to the withered Divine Laurel Tree and reasoned that the Heavenly Emperor, Hao Jun, might have opposed Heng'e wielding power capable of killing him.
  • Chang'e suspected the gods had exploited the Heavenly Emperor's weakness and helped set in motion the events that led to the sisters' deaths and the War of Shooting the Suns.

Ch. 510Born from the Laurel, Great Yin Manifests

Li Boyang calmed the Three-Legged Golden Toad and used his power to bring Li Jingshu, Yan Xiaojun, Li Xuandu, and Jun back to the main timeline. There, Heng'e fought a sentient white ring protecting the Divine Laurel Tree, and Li Xuandu identified it as Youying, an Innate Deity and candidate for Moon God.

  • Li Boyang reassured the Three-Legged Golden Toad that the Big Dipper Seven Stars Great Formation kept him safe from the Heavenly Emperor’s attempt to use him as an anchor, and the toad gave Li Boyang its golden copper coin.
  • Li Boyang used the Heavenly Eye and Reverse Heaven and Return the Sun to pull Li Jingshu, Yan Xiaojun, Li Xuandu, and Jun back to the main timeline.
  • Heng'e appeared over the collapsing Great Yin Star and used her ribbons and Great Yin essence Qi to battle a white hollow ring emerging from the hole around the Divine Laurel Tree.
  • Dayi wondered whether he had ever truly known Heng'e as he watched her fight from within the Sun-Shooting Divine Arrow.
  • Li Xuandu identified the white hollow ring as Youying, an Innate Deity formed from Great Yin and a candidate for Moon God.

Ch. 511The Two Sages of the Two Aspects, a Chance to Attain the Dao

Li Xuandu, Chang'e, and Li Jingshu battled Youying while Li Xuandu warned that Youying and Zhuzhao were two halves of one undying entity. Youying unleashed a devastating repulsive blast, and Zhuzhao emerged from the moon’s crater, setting the stage for the Two Sages’ true battle.

  • Li Xuandu transformed into a white dragon and used five-element dragon breath to counter Youying, while Chang'e joined him and attacked Youying in her rabbit form.
  • Li Xuandu warned Chang'e that Youying and Zhuzhao were two sides of one entity and that the divine laurel tree was the key.
  • Lord Tiaoyao appeared as Li Jingshu revealed the Yin-Yang Twin Wheels, and Li Jingshu joined the fight against Youying.
  • Li Jingshu repeatedly attacked the divine laurel tree, forcing Youying to defend it as Youying lost ground.
  • Youying unleashed a powerful repulsive blast that reduced the nearby moon matter to dust and left a vast crater.
  • Zhuzhao’s golden ring formed within the crater as the compressed matter ignited through fusion, revealing the Yang Sage.

Ch. 512Rewriting Origins, Ending Destiny

Li Boyang uncovered the Heavenly Emperor Hao Jun’s plan to use Great Yin and solar avatars to alter his fate and rule other eras, then summoned the Seven Stars Treasured Sword. On the moon, Li Jingshu and Lord Tiaoyao fought Youying and Zhuzhao, whose combined powers forced Li Jingshu onto the defensive.

  • Li Boyang realized that Hao Jun had imitated him by creating Great Yin Youying and Supreme Yang Zhuzhao, and that the Three-Legged Golden Toad was meant to be another avatar.
  • Li Boyang concluded that Heng'e’s preparations and resistance had exposed Hao Jun’s attempt to claim the Dao of Great Yin and extend his rule across eras.
  • Li Boyang asked the Three-Legged Golden Toad whether it wanted to sever its karmic ties with Hao Jun, then summoned the Seven Stars Treasured Sword from the Big Dipper.
  • Youying and Zhuzhao combined their powers, forcing Li Jingshu to wield the Sun and Moon Twin Wheels to hold them back.
  • Lord Tiaoyao joined the battle and fired mountain-sized arrows with Dayi’s precise archery, which Chang'e and Li Xuandu recognized.

Ch. 513Dao Attainers from the Future

Li Xuandu and Chang'e learned that Dayi survived only as a fragment of memory within the Sun-Shooting Divine Arrow, then returned to fighting Youying and Zhuzhao as their combined Yin-Yang power reached Qi Dao Perfection. In the North Sea, Rain Master Shang Yang confronted a dragon turtle from an uncertain future, who warned him about Lao Zhuang’s dangerous dream-based Dao practice.

  • Li Xuandu revealed that he was not Dayi and gave Chang'e the Sun-Shooting Divine Arrow, through which Dayi confirmed that she had mistaken her for her older sister Heng'e.
  • Chang'e and Dayi began to reunite, but Li Jingshu urged them to resume the fight, and the group continued battling Youying and Zhuzhao.
  • Youying and Zhuzhao combined their Great Yin and Great Yang powers, breaking past the limits of a Heavenly Deity and reaching Qi Dao Perfection.
  • A dragon turtle born near the North Sea sea eye explained to Rain Master Shang Yang that it came from an undetermined future and had traveled back in time to leave its presence in the era.
  • Shang Yang challenged the dragon turtle for entering his territory, and the dragon turtle warned him that Lao Zhuang’s attempts to turn illusion into reality posed a greater danger.

Ch. 514When Fortune Comes, Heaven and Earth Lend Their Strength; When Fortune Leaves, Even Heroes Are Not Free

Heng'e disrupted Youying and Zhuzhao as they were about to merge, letting the others attack and stop Hao Jun's descent. Ten thousand years earlier, Dayi learned about the paths of Dao attainment but doubted that shooting down the suns gave him a Dao of his own.

  • Heng'e emerged from the withered Divine Laurel Tree and extracted the essence from Youying and Zhuzhao.
  • Li Jingshu, Yan Xiaojun, Li Xuandu, Chang'e, and Xianjun attacked the two incarnations, triggering a tremendous explosion.
  • During the War of Shooting the Suns, Dayi saw a youth at the end of spacetime after he shot down the final Golden Crow.
  • The youth explained the Divine Gate and Heavenly Pass and the two paths available to a Great Heavenly Deity.
  • Dayi said he had no Dao to expound and had only shot down the suns to end the world-destroying calamity.

Ch. 515Mind Alone, Self Alone-The Shot Without Shooting

Three years after shooting down the suns, Dayi confronted Heng'e about the real Heng'e's death and the Heavenly Emperor's role in the catastrophe. He revealed that he had mastered a new power and aimed the Vermilion Bow at Mount Kunlun.

  • Dayi waited for the moon to rise as Heng'e brought him food and the Elixir of Immortality.
  • Dayi told Heng'e that he knew she was not his real wife and asked whether the real Heng'e was dead.
  • Heng'e urged Dayi to take the Elixir of Immortality so that neither gods nor the Heavenly Emperor could kill him.
  • Dayi refused the elixir, concluded that the Heavenly Emperor had caused the catastrophe, and picked up the [Sun-Shooting Bow].
  • Dayi said he had mastered a power of mind alone and self alone, then aimed the Vermilion Bow at Mount Kunlun as dark clouds and lightning filled the sky.

Ch. 516Lunar Charioteer Wangshu, ruler of the stars

After Li Jingshu destroyed Youying and Zhuzhao with the Heavenly Eye, the Great Yin Star began turning into a sun, threatening life on earth. Li Boyang used the Heaven and Earth Ring to push the moon back into the sky, as the dragon turtle explained that the Lunar Charioteer rule and its first Star Lord, Wangshu, were about to emerge.

  • Li Jingshu used the Heavenly Eye to grind Youying and Zhuzhao to ashes, while Chang'e warned that her divine father was coming.
  • The Great Yin Star began transforming into a sun, and Chang'e, Li Jingshu, Lord Chui, and Lord Tiaoyao fled as the heat spread.
  • Li Boyang appeared with an immense Heaven and Earth Ring and pushed the Great Yin Star back toward its original position, containing the heat.
  • The dragon turtle explained that the Lunar Charioteer was a rule governing the moon and said that the first Star Lord of Great Yin was Wangshu.
  • The Great Yin Star returned through the Heaven and Earth Ring to the starry sky, leaving the earth tiny below.

Ch. 517Encircling the Heavenly Emperor, Breaking the Heart's Barrier (Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!)

Hao Jun faced Dayi’s arrow and the Netherworld Lord’s attempt to seize his soul, while Heng'e realized the nature of Dayi’s power and interrupted Hao Jun’s rebirth through the Divine Laurel Tree. Heng'e confronted Hao Jun over his refusal to investigate the deaths of her younger sisters and herself.

  • Hao Jun used the Haotian Mirror to block an invisible arrow, but Dayi’s shot pierced his head as the Netherworld Lord tried to claim his soul.
  • Hao Jun resisted the Netherworld Lord, arguing that the Six Paths of Reincarnation did not exist in his era.
  • Heng'e returned her consciousness to her true body and understood Dayi’s “Mind Alone, Self Alone” as a power rooted in conviction and the hopes of living beings.
  • Hao Jun tried to be reborn through the Divine Laurel Tree, but Heng'e thrust her hand into its trunk and unleashed the True Solar Fire.
  • Heng'e rejected Hao Jun’s apologetic words and accused him of covering up the truth about the deaths of her younger sisters and herself.

Ch. 518Chang'e flies to the moon

One year after Moonfall, Dayi’s preserved memory fragment was given a new body, while Chang'e prepared to revive the Divine Laurel Tree in hopes of restoring her elder sister and mother. Li Jingshu left the question of whether they could return to life to her little brother.

  • Lingguzi gave Dayi’s memory fragment a body made from Flat Peach Cells and parts of the Sun-Shooting Arrow, then left after saying she had saved him for Li Jingshu.
  • The man told Li Boyang and Wangshu that he knew he was not Dayi and suspected Ji'e had restored him to give her younger sister something to hold on to.
  • Li Boyang reminded the man that his memories ended after Dayi shot down the Great Golden Crow, and asked whether he would still love E if he had inherited Dayi’s later memories.
  • Under the Divine Laurel Tree on the Great Yin Star, Chang'e asked E whether her elder sister could be revived.
  • Li Jingshu explained that she had used Flat Peach Cells and Jade Pool water to revive the Divine Laurel Tree, but said her little brother would have to answer whether Chang'e’s elder sister and mother could be reborn.

Ch. 519Volume's end: The cause of all effects, the Primordial Beginning Heavenly King

Li Boyang spoke with Li Xuandu about how people in his era replaced stolen streetlights with weapons and Law Artifacts. When Li Xuandu tried to return to his own time, Li Boyang revealed that his incomplete Divine Ability could not escape the karma of the many timelines attached to him and sent him away to face further tribulations.

  • Li Boyang noticed Li Xuandu spying on him and asked how his era dealt with spirits and deities stealing streetlights.
  • Li Xuandu explained that Li Boyang had expanded the Luo River Book and published a method for refining Geng Metal, allowing weapons and Law Artifacts to replace the streetlights.
  • Li Xuandu said he was ready to leave the era and opened his Heavenly Eye to follow the timeline back to his own time.
  • Li Boyang calculated that Li Xuandu's incomplete Reverse Heaven and Return the Sun Divine Ability could not erase his karma, and Li Xuandu vanished from the era.
  • Li Boyang identified Li Xuandu as a heaven-ordained traveler who would become the Primordial Beginning Heavenly King and said he must undergo every tribulation of the Heavenly Emperor.

Ch. 520The Omniscient One

Li Boyang’s efficient village-based system let him guide the Hundred Lands Mountain Range while sharing knowledge and empowering people to shape their own futures. As he watched new schools being built, he welcomed the prospect that future thinkers would surpass him and become fellow Daoists.

  • The Hundred Lands Mountain Range developed an extensive network of canals, docks, and roads under Li Boyang’s planning.
  • Li Boyang organized the region through a binary system in which he set long-term plans and villages carried them out in five-year periods.
  • Li Boyang used his wisdom and divination to guide the region without relying on a traditional hierarchy of advisers and entrenched interests.
  • Li Boyang reflected that his system depended on his will and could turn against him if he could no longer maintain his omniscience.
  • Li Boyang looked at the newly built schools in the [Diagram of Mountains, Rivers, and the Land] and welcomed future thinkers who might surpass him.
