If dark organizations were ranked by severity,

then Team Aqua of the Hoenn Region would absolutely be among the worst.

They worshipped the creator of the seas, and their fundamental goal was to reclaim the habitats Pokémon had lost due to humanity's desires.

At first glance, it seemed quite righteous.

But in Team Aqua's view, so-called habitats meant only one thing: the ocean.

They wanted to turn the entire world into an ocean, thereby accomplishing the baffling feat of "returning Pokémon to their homeland."

At least, Tetsuya found it utterly baffling.

After all, there were countless kinds of Pokémon, spanning land, sea, and sky.

If there was only ocean, at least seventy percent—perhaps even more—of Pokémon would be unable to survive.

That hardly aligned with their stated goal.

Unless Team Aqua merely wanted to reclaim habitats, and didn't care how many Pokémon survived afterward.

That would truly be a dark joke.

And, as everyone knew, humans could not live without land either.

In the end, Team Aqua's goal was practically equivalent to suicide.

Tetsuya could not understand how an organization with such a religious bent recruited members at all.

Perhaps there were simply too many people in the world; there would always be a few individuals with bizarre trains of thought.

He wholeheartedly supported punishing those bastards who maliciously and needlessly destroyed wild Pokémon habitats.

Humans and Pokémon had coexisted in this world for who knew how long. They had long since become inseparable, and such acts brought nothing but harm.

But more often than not, humans were merely fighting for more living space for themselves.

In any case, no matter what,

Tetsuya did not think forming a cooperative relationship with such a dark organization was a good choice.
