The handover for the acting Gym Leader position went smoothly.
Tetsuya sat in the office filled with mechanical aesthetics, feeling dazed for a moment.
"Watts, does our Gym really not have any spare rooms that could serve as my office?"
He asked his assistant.
Watts shrugged apologetically. "You saw it just now. Aside from a few necessary venues and facilities, Wattson has remodeled the rest of the Gym's interior beyond recognition.
If Wattson didn't rarely work in this office, there probably wouldn't even be this place."
Fine.
Tetsuya let out a long sigh.
At the same time, he used his Psychic-type power to lift himself a little higher into the air.
The thing beneath his butt—let's call it a chair—was most likely not meant for people to sit on.
At least, he wasn't capable of it.
Fortunately, this assessment would only last one month.
Otherwise, Tetsuya could hardly guarantee that Wattson would still recognize his Mauville Gym when he returned.

He strongly suspected that one major reason Wattson had agreed to let the League send someone to temporarily take over as Gym Leader was because the old man didn't want to deal with all these affairs himself.

"Can you tell me why an incident involving Wild Pokémon attacking humans from half a month ago was left unresolved until now?"
Tetsuya picked up the top sheet, glanced at it, and was rendered speechless.
"Well..." Watts showed an awkward yet polite smile. "Wattson was busy renovating the basement at the time, so..."
"Alright, I understand."
Tetsuya waved him off. "Good thing he has an assistant like you. Otherwise, Gym Leader Wattson would've been held accountable by the League ages
