Arc 29Mirage Tower and Hoenn Trials

Tetsuya and Norman crossed the desert, explored the Mirage Tower, and reached Trainer’s Hill for Hoenn’s Qualification Challenge. Tetsuya won his opening tournament battles, then received an invitation to a Dragon-type trial on Southern Island.

  • Tetsuya and Norman explored the Mirage Tower, battled its Illusion Pokemon, and met the sealed Regirock, who revealed that the tower’s system used Dream Energy.
  • Tetsuya and Norman escaped the tower with Musharna’s help, reported the Illusion System to Professor Oak, and continued to Trainer’s Hill.

Arc 30Mauville and the Time Ruins

Tetsuya won his tournament matches, served as Mauville’s acting Gym Leader, and dealt with New Mauville, Team Aqua, and Team Magma. After finding a time-warped ruin on Mist Mountain and meeting an older version of himself, he returned to the wider story as strange meteors fell toward Kanto and Hoenn and a report said Cynthia had gone on a rampage.

  • Tetsuya defeated Tie Xiangping’s team and finished the first round with a perfect record, while Gible evolved into Gabite during training.
  • Tetsuya took over Mauville Gym, weakened the Storm Surge near Route 123, and investigated the Static affecting Route 110, where he and Wattson found Mechanical Raikou guarding New Mauville.
  • Tetsuya trained with Elder Huixuan in her Divination World, then raided Team Aqua and Team Magma camps near Mt. Chimney and captured their members with help from Higana, an undercover League agent.

Tetsuya fought Deoxys with Steven, then passed the Joy Family’s Southern Island trial and befriended Latias and Latios. Later, he helped uncover danger at Mt. Pyre, where Maxie escaped with the Red Orb and Tetsuya confronted the real Archie over the Blue Orb.

  • Tetsuya and Steven battled the Deoxys that emerged from a meteorite crater, and Steven and Wallace eventually defeated it and recovered its crystalline core.
  • Tetsuya traveled to Southern Island, built a cabin, and sent Gabite and Dreepy through Latias’s trial at the Dragon Graveyard, carrying them when the aura overwhelmed them.
  • After recovering, Tetsuya learned that Latias and Latios considered him a friend and had passed him, then left the island and explored Sea Mauville with Empoleon and Ampharos.

  • Tetsuya and the Champions fought Groudon and the artificial monster fused with Maxie, then Tetsuya threw the Red Orb into the sea and Kyogre rose to challenge Groudon.
