The heavens changed (II)
Xu Pingfeng's formation was powerful yet concealed, its strength hidden from view.
The image of the Bodhisattva of the Gara Tree brought forth obvious extraordinary phenomena.
The Dharma image on the left is six zhang tall, as if cast in gold, with bulging muscles, twelve pairs of arms spread out in a fan shape behind it, and a scorching ring of fire burning behind its head.
It seemed to be the embodiment of power and fire; the moment it appeared, the temperature in the high sky rose sharply, ushering in the sweltering heat of summer. The expanding pressure, accompanied by heat waves, swept across all directions.
On the right is a pale golden statue sitting cross-legged, head bowed, eyes downcast, hands clasped together. It symbolizes the weight and solidity of a mountain; around it, space is frozen, and there is not a breath of wind.
Splash!
The sound of the waves rose again, this time, the illusory black waves surged hundreds of feet high, like a giant wall connecting to the sky.
Compared to him, the supervisor, dressed in snow-white robes, seemed as insignificant as an ant.
At the same time, crackling arcs of electricity rose from the horns on the White Emperor's head, and a blazing white ball of lightning took shape between the horns, continuously accumulating power.
The supervisor once again used the same trick, reaching his right hand behind him into the black waves and slowly drawing out a black longsword.
Xu Pingfeng suddenly disappeared, then used teleportation to "flash" to the side of the supervisor, making the exact same move—reaching into the black wave with his left hand and pulling out a black longsword.
The master and apprentice stood side by side, simultaneously drawing their swords and fiercely clashing their blades together.
Rumble!
Above the sea of clouds, the sound of explosions echoed across the vast expanse of waves.
After blocking the supervisor's sword, Xu Pingfeng did not linger in the fight and immediately used teleportation to retreat.
His figure flashed and disappeared, appearing in the clouds dozens of feet away, but Xu Pingfeng failed to escape. The supervisor was still beside him, as if he had teleported with the supervisor just now.
The old, white-haired, white-bearded supervisor, expressionless, reached out and grabbed Xu Pingfeng's neck.
Buzz!
The circular array beneath Xu Pingfeng's feet began to operate, and the three characters "water, marsh, earth" lit up, forming a barrier in front of him with an inner layer of gray-yellow and an outer layer of pitch black, its surface crackling with electric arcs.
At the same time, streams of light leaped out from the brocade pouch at his waist. They were a heavy bronze bell, a brass breastplate, a black iron shield, and a seven-ringed structure wreathed in flames.
A total of eight top-tier protective magical Law Artifact.
Bang! The bronze bell shattered.
Bang! The breastplate shattered.
Bang! The black iron shield shattered.
Bang! The seven rings shattered.
The supervisor's hand was like an indestructible divine weapon, completely destroying the wicked disciple's top-tier Law Artifact.
Xu Pingfeng remained calm and, taking advantage of the moment when the Law Artifact blocked the supervisor, he stepped forward and stomped.
Within the light emitted by the teleportation array, the Bodhisattva Garuda stood in front of Xu Pingfeng, clenching his fist tightly. From his shoulders and elbows to his back, every creased muscle was filled with surging divine power.
He threw a punch.
At the same time, the Acala image on the right side of the head of the Gara Tree Bodhisattva quickly formed a Law Seals with its hands clasped together.
The folds in this space were immediately flattened, and it solidified.
The supervisor's teleportation array was no longer effective, so he raised his palm and casually blocked the fist of the Gara Tree Bodhisattva.
Buzz!
A dark golden fist slammed into a barrier composed of hexagonal blocks. The force of the First-Rank Bodhisattva's fist instantly covered the front of the barrier, causing it to shake violently and emit a buzzing sound.
The hexagonal barrier frantically absorbed the force before collapsing and disintegrating, allowing the supervisor to slide back rapidly.
Amidst the crackling sound of electric arcs, the blazing white lightning ball brewing between the horns of the White Emperor finally seized the opportunity and shot out.
The sea of clouds suddenly surged, and dense arcs of lightning flashed by in an instant. How fast can lightning travel?
Unable to use teleportation and already in a sliding state, the supervisor had no chance to dodge. He pressed his hands down, accurately gathering the lightning ball between his palms.
The monitor that the lightning ball was pushing was continuing to slide backward.
Seizing this opportunity, the White Emperor and the Gara Tree Bodhisattva acted in unison, attempting to use their formidable close-combat abilities to deliver a heavy blow to the Fated Master and expand their advantage.
A series of arrays opened beneath Xu Pingfeng's feet, enveloping the supervisor.
These restrictive, offensive, and disruptive formations would normally be ineffective against the Supervisor, but now, combined with the offensive of the lightning ball, they have proven surprisingly effective.
The White Emperor and the Garuda Tree appeared on either side of the Supervisor.
The former bared its fangs and maw, seemingly about to devour the supervisor. The latter twisted its waist and swung its arms, its muscles bulging, brimming with surging power.
At that moment, a glint of light flashed in the eyes of the supervisor.
Bang! He violently extinguished the lightning ball, his right hand, still smoking, pressed against his waist and pulled sharply.
"Slap! Slap!"
With two crisp cracking sounds, the White Emperor was sent flying, his snow-white scales shattering and blood splattering. The Gara Tree Bodhisattva staggered backward, a shallow whip mark appearing on his dark golden body.
The supervisor now had an extra sheep-driving whip in his hand.
The great wizard Salun Agu's Law Treasure, the number one divine weapon of the Witch God Cult, also has another name: the God-Slaying Whip.
When Joan of Arc was beheaded, Salun Agu and the supervisor were gambling in the Star-Gazing Tower, betting on the life or death of Xu Qi'an with the Heavenly Secrets Plate and the God-Slaying Whip.
Since Xu Qi'an is not dead, then it is natural that Salun Agu has lost.
"This broken whip is useless, but it's perfect for beating you two uncouth bastards."
The supervisor sneered and flicked his whip.
Snap! Snap! Snap!
The whip blurred into afterimages, ignoring distance, and lashed out again at Xu Pingfeng, the Gara Tree Bodhisattva, and the White Emperor.
Behind Xu Pingfeng, a figure in white was drawn out; it was his Primordial Spirit.
The White Emperor's Primordial Spirit was a blurry black shadow that, just as it was about to leave his body, forcibly slipped back in.
Only the Bodhisattva of the Garuda Tree was immune to the properties of the God-Slaying Whip; the Immovable King formed a mudra, as stable as a mountain.
Ignoring the White Emperor and the Gara Tree Bodhisattva, the Supervisor flicked his wrist and struck Xu Pingfeng's Primordial Spirit.
Primordial Spirit separated from the physical body is undoubtedly fragile. Apart from wizards and Daoist School, the Primordial Spirit of cultivators in any system is relatively fragile.
The whip blurred into a blur, lashing towards Xu Pingfeng's Primordial Spirit. With this single lash, Xu Pingfeng's three souls would be scattered.
But at that moment, a thick, mud-like liquid began to flow from the illusory white-robed Warlock's body.
These liquids, carrying an aura of decadence and evil, quickly enveloped Xu Pingfeng's Primordial Spirit, protecting him.
"Smack!"
The whip lashed at the muddy liquid, causing Xu Pingfeng and the muddy liquid to tremble and nearly scatter.
After the supervisor finished cracking the whip, he stopped and looked down at the whip in his hand.
It became stained with a viscous black liquid and lost its spirit.
On the other side, the black liquid covering Xu Pingfeng's body detached, twisting and writhing as it transformed into a human form. He had a human appearance and features, and his body was covered in thick, filthy liquid.
Only one pair of eyes is a real human eye.
The leader of the Earth Sect—Black Lotus!
The two culprits who caused the Great Feng to fall into its current predicament have arrived.
"The corrupted nature of this weapon is specifically designed to counter divine weapons and magical Law Treasure; even the National Guardian Sword is not immune to it. Teacher, why don't you try your Heavenly Secrets Disc instead?"
Xu Pingfeng 'Primordial Spirit returned to its place, he stood with his hands behind his back, a broad smile on his face:
"Oh, I forgot that the Heavenly Secret Compass is Professor Jianzheng's most prized possession; he wouldn't use it casually."
The supervisor released his grip, and the sheep-driving whip vanished in a flash of light.
He then flipped his right hand, revealing two objects in his palm: a simple and elegant Confucian cap and a plain and unadorned carving knife.
The supervisor slowly put on his scholar's cap, grasped his carving knife, and chuckled at the four enemies:
"If I were to invite the Confucian sage, would you have any hope of surviving today?"
Bai Di's azure eyes scrutinized the supervisor, and he spoke in a deep voice:
"Inviting someone of the highest rank will inevitably result in a backlash from the Heavenly Dao. Even if you are of the first rank, you will still have to bear a huge price. I bet you wouldn't dare."
Before the words were even finished, the three people and the beast saw that a page of paper had appeared in the supervisor's hand, which quickly burned to ashes.
Xu Pingfeng's pupils contracted slightly at his decisive action as he retreated rapidly using a teleportation array, manipulating various Law Artifact to protect himself in the process.
The Bodhisattva of the Gara Tree remained completely still, his form like that of Acala, the Immovable King, in a mudra. Immovability is the strongest defense.
As a second-grade cultivator, Black Lotus's determination to retreat was even more resolute than Xu Pingfeng's.
The White Emperor bowed, his head pressed against his forepaws, and let out a low growl. One of his horns was gathering lightning, while the other was brewing black light.
The supervisor sneered:
"Just kidding!"
Just as the three people and the beast looked surprised and their expressions relaxed slightly, he suddenly flicked his hat and shouted:
"Please invite the Confucian sage!"
Above the sea of clouds, beneath the sky, a pair of indifferent and ruthless eyes slowly opened.
P. S.: This battle is the beginning of the climax, and many foreshadowing elements from the earlier chapters will be resolved one by one. The first climax of the "Conquest of the Central Plains" arc is coming. For a better reading experience, I will continue writing the next chapter.
