A Bit of Rambling

As for competing for rankings, it's easy to damage relationships, so I adopted a relatively silent attitude from the beginning.

As a rather laid-back author, I actually quite dislike this kind of mechanism (I only dare to mutter this under my breath).

This is a burden for both the author and the reader, and it shouldn't escalate into a major conflict. Hopefully, everyone can try to get along harmoniously.

Adding to that my careless remarks in February, I definitely overestimated myself, partly because I only realized February only had 28 days after I said it. But a broken promise is a broken promise, and mistakes must be admitted. I've always felt ashamed. Every time I see everyone complaining in the book review section, my face burns with embarrassment, so I've become blinded by this and stopped reading book reviews and chapter comments. Occasionally, when I'm in a good mood, I'll take the time to write a few chapters. I guess I'll just have to accept the criticism and stand up straight.

That's why, partly out of shame and partly out of apathy, I never thought about competing for the rankings.

The competition for monthly votes these past few days has been so fierce, and to be honest, as an author, I'm quite moved. Even someone as insignificant as me, you're still willing to support me.

However, competing for rankings inevitably leads to arguments and disputes, and there are too many precedents for this, which is why I dislike this system. I still hope everyone can have a good reading environment.

There's no need to incite conflict or stir up trouble; it only makes the author look bad.

Fortunately, the administrators have been deleting book reviews, so I'd like to thank them.

On a side note, "The Nightwatchers" is in its later stages and should be completed within one million words. This is a preliminary estimate; I can't give an exact word count.

The later a book is written, the harder it gets, because there are so many things to consider, like foreshadowing, subplots, characters, and so on. My priority is to maintain the quality.

To be honest, with 3 million words already, the number of new subscriptions and average daily subscriptions are still rising, which is truly remarkable. The reason I'm taking a relaxed approach is actually because I dedicate 90% of my energy to the book. Everything else comes second.

Next month's average subscriptions should reach 110,000. I also want to see where the limits of Nightwatchers are, so I am even more cautious about the plot and dare not even put pen to paper.

Time to get back to writing!
