In a quiet room deep within the Worship Hall, Lin Yuan and Qian Daoliu sat facing each other. The bone star map found on Captain Borisin was placed in front of them. The star map was only the size of a palm, and its surface was covered with fine patterns. It looked like it was made from the bones of some kind of Soul Beast. However, no matter how Qian Daoliu examined it, he could not sense any of the structure that Soul Tool should have.
Qian Daoliu raised his hand and released a wisp of Soul Power. The golden power flowed slowly along the surface of the bone diagram, but after a few breaths, there was no change. Lin Yuan then tried to inject his own Soul Power into it, but the result was still the same. The bone diagram was like an ordinary beast bone, and no matter how much Soul Power it absorbed, it did not react at all.
"It's not something driven by Soul Power." Lin Yuan withdrew his hand and stared at the star map for a while. "These Borisin are not originally from the Douluo Continent, and the things they use may not follow the Soul Master system."
Qian Daoliu slightly, not rushing to a conclusion. The two tried several more methods, but the star map remained lying there quietly. Just as Lin Yuan was about to put the things away, he suddenly remembered what the Borisin deputy had once said: they were chasing the Abundance Ruins, and the power used by these races from the Star Sea did not belong to the Soul Power system.
Lin Yuan picked up the Bone Diagram again, drew out a wisp of extremely faint cyan-blue Path power, and slowly infused it into the Bone Diagram.
The change happened almost instantly.
The originally grayish-white surface of the animal bone suddenly lit up with pale blue lines. The previously irregular engravings quickly connected, as if something that had been dormant for a long time had been awakened. Then, a hazy light screen rose from above the bone diagram and slowly unfolded in front of the two people.
Qian Daoliu's gaze sharpened.
What appeared in the projection was not a sea of stars.
It was actually a map of the Douluo Continent.
The outline of the continent was very rough, with only a few obvious areas such as the two great empires, the Star Dou Great Forest, and the Far North visible. However, there were several dots of different colors scattered on the map. One of the dots was located at the site where they had wiped out the Borisin camp, and it had now become extremely dim, while the other two dots were still clear.
Lin Yuan stared at the few points of light for a moment, and quickly came to a guess. "These points of light likely correspond to their activity locations after entering the continent. The team we just wiped out has lost contact, so the light here is fading. The remaining two points of light should belong to other Borisin."
Qian Daoliu looked at the other two locations on the map. One was closer to the Star Dou Great Forest, and the other was located on the eastern side of the continent, not very close to Spirit City. The locations of the dots were very blurry, obviously this bone map could not provide accurate coordinates.
"There are at least two more," Qian Daoliu said in a deep voice, "And we can't be sure yet. That's all."
Lin Yuan nodded. He didn't speak too definitively; whether the bone map recorded the Borisin's group or some kind of Abundance signal was currently impossible to confirm. The only thing they were certain of was that the creatures they had encountered before were definitely not isolated entities.
After memorizing the map, Qian Daoliu gestured for Lin Yuan to put it away. "Bring that survivor out for interrogation tomorrow. Since he was able to become a deputy, he should know more than the ordinary members."
Lin Yuan withdrew his power of Path, and the projection quickly dissipated, restoring the bone diagram to its original form. But just as the light screen disappeared, the Imperial Bow within his body suddenly vibrated slightly. The sensation was extremely faint, yet it made Lin Yuan immediately stop.
Since breaking through level 50, his fifth Soul Ring had not appeared. But when the star map was activated just now, he felt an unusual pull from the depths of the Imperial Bow for the first time.
That feeling didn't resemble an increase in Soul Power.
It's more like a call is coming from somewhere for the Imperial Bow.
Lin Yuan didn't rush to tell Qian Daoliu, because even he himself wasn't sure if it was just his imagination. That night, after returning to his residence, he quickly entered a meditative state and didn't fall into a deep sleep until late at night.
I don't know how much time passed, but suddenly my consciousness plunged into a familiar darkness.
When Lin Yuan opened his eyes again, he was standing in an endless starry sky.
There was no earth around him, nor any sound. Countless stars floated in the distant sky, and the Imperial Bow floated silently in front of him, its surface flowing with blue-green starlight. Unlike before, this time there was no Lan in the starry sky, nor any will from the Aeon descended.
Lin Yuan walked to the front of the Imperial Bow and soon noticed a faint blue trail appearing above the bow.
The trajectory was extremely thin, stretching from the front of the Imperial Bow all the way into the depths of the starry sky, and finally disappearing from sight.
He tried to reach out and touch it. As soon as his fingertips approached the trajectory, his level 50 Soul Power began to circulate on its own. The position of his fifth Soul Ring, which had been silent until now, also trembled slightly, as if something that was not yet completed had finally shown a response.
Lin Yuan stared at the pale blue trail pointing into the distance, and he already had a rough guess in his mind.
This should be related to the fifth Soul Ring.
The first four Soul Ring appeared automatically as he broke through his cultivation level, but the fifth Soul Ring clearly did not follow the original pattern. The Imperial Bow was pointing him to a certain place or a certain target.
He just doesn't know where this path leads yet.
The following morning, the underground prison area of the Worship Hall had been completely sealed off.
Qian Daoliu sat at the front, with Lin Yuan standing to his right. Several other elders, including Golden Crocodile, Azure Luan, and Guang Ling, were also present. The deputy of Borisin was locked in the center of the cell, his limbs still bound by metal chains. Although his shoulder injury had been treated, he had not regained his mobility.
After the cell door opened, he looked up and glanced at the crowd in front of him, his gaze finally settling on Qian Daoliu and Lin Yuan.
"It seems you are the ones who truly have influence on this continent." The deputy leaned against the stone wall, his tone much calmer than before. "You've summoned so many people to interrogate me; you probably don't just want to know about that spatial rift."
Lin Yuan didn't deny it, and walked a few steps away from the cell door, saying, "Pretty much. Since you're willing to talk, then we won't waste each other's time."
The deputy sneered, "What do you want to know?"
Lin Yuan didn't beat around the bush. "How many wolves did you bring in total?"
The address caused the deputy's expression to darken slightly, but he didn't immediately become angry. He remained silent for a moment, clearly knowing that continuing to conceal the truth was pointless, before finally speaking slowly, "There are three teams that have entered this continent, and we are just one of them."
The gazes of the several retainers in the cell simultaneously changed.
Lin Yuan continued, "What are the responsibilities of each of the three teams?"
"We are responsible for searching for the blessings left behind by Abundance." The deputy raised his head, his tone regaining its calm. "Whether it's the Ambrosial Arbor you speak of, or any other relics imbued with the power of Abundance, once discovered, their location must be recorded and attempts made to retrieve them."
"The second team is responsible for studying the life and energy systems of this world. They need to figure out why the humans here can grow by relying on Soul Ring, and also study the differences between the Soul Beast and ordinary star-sea life. As for where they are now, I don't know. Our three teams split up after entering this place."
Qian Daoliu remained silent, only looking at Lin Yuan.
Lin Yuan continued, "And the third one?"
The deputy remained silent for a moment before slowly saying, "Search for other spatial rifts."
Light Feather Douluo frowned. "Others?"
The second-in-command looked up at the group, "You don't really think that the rift we discovered is the only way, do you? Since this world can now communicate with the Star Sea, it means the spatial barrier is no longer absolutely intact. The third team's mission is to find new rifts and confirm whether there is an entrance that can be stably traversed in the long term."
The atmosphere in the cell noticeably sombered.
Lin Yuan didn't press further, but the pale blue trail that stretched into the depths of the starry sky last night had already surfaced in his mind.
If the other two Borisin are still active on the continent, then the direction the Imperial Bow is pointing to might not be so hard to guess anymore.
