Galactic Baseballer
After the Astral Express and the Spirit Hall reached an initial cooperation agreement, the somewhat tense atmosphere in the Pope Hall eased considerably. Issues such as spatial rifts, Borisin, and subsequent intelligence exchange couldn't be fully resolved in a short time. Himeko and Welt decided to stay and discuss the scope of intelligence that could be shared between the two sides with Qian Daoliu and Bibi Dong.
Qian Daoliu glanced at March 7th, who was clearly getting restless, then looked at Lin Yuan and said directly, "Little Yuan, we don't need you for the rest of the business. Take a few guests to Spirit City for a look around and let them get acquainted with the place. Since we'll be visiting again in the future, we can't keep them sitting in the Pope Hall forever."
Lin Yuan nodded and was about to get up when Himeko looked at March 7th and said with a smile, "Little March, you should go too. We 'Welt handle the rest here. You've always wanted to see the cities on this planet, haven't you?"
Just moments before, March 7th had been trying to maintain a serious demeanor while listening attentively to the meeting, but upon hearing this, her eyes lit up instantly. She jumped up from her seat and exclaimed excitedly, "Great! I've been wanting to go out and see the world for ages! Looking down from the train just now, I realized this place is completely different from any place we've been before!"
Xing also stood up, her expression even more serious than March 7th's. She clenched her fist and said with unusual determination, "I've made up my mind. I will absolutely not let any trash can in this city go unpunished."
March 7th's smile froze instantly. Without hesitation, she covered Xing's mouth, looking around at everyone with an embarrassed expression. "Hey, hey, hey! Don't blurt things out! There's no need to tell others this on our first meeting! What about the image of our Astral Express?!"
Xing's mouth was covered, but she still didn't give up struggling, her eyes clearly still expressing her determination. Guang Ling, standing not far away, watched this scene and couldn't help but laugh out loud, "It seems this young friend is indeed quite special. I've seen people who like to collect weapons, and I've seen people who like to study Soul Beast, but this is the first time I've seen someone who keeps staring at a trash can."
Lin Yuan covered his face with his hand, momentarily at a loss for words, unsure where to begin his explanation. After a while, he glanced helplessly at Xing: "As expected of you, Galactic Baseballer. You've only been in Spirit City a short time, and you're already planning to plunder the trash cans here."
Upon hearing the address, Xing nodded seriously, clearly not finding anything amiss. March 7th, however, had no desire to continue the conversation and pulled her outside, with Dan Heng following behind, carrying his recording tools.
The group left the Pope Hall and soon entered the most bustling main street of Spirit City.
Once inside the city, March 7th's attention was immediately drawn to everything around her. The buildings on both sides of the street were in a style she had never seen before. There were no Starskiff, no automated machinery, and no electronic light screens floating in mid-air. Instead, there were stone roads, shops, carriages, and a large number of pedestrians dressed in different clothes.
What interested her most were the Soul Master she could see everywhere. Some wore badges of identity issued by the Spirit Hall around their waists, some carried longswords, and others wore equipment clearly intended for hunting Soul Beast. Occasionally, she could see young Soul Master releasing their Martial Soul on the street, attracting the attention of ordinary people around them.
March 7th was dazzled by everything she saw, and kept pulling Lin Yuan aside to ask, "Was the wolf that suddenly appeared behind that person also Martial Soul? And that one over there, why did his hand turn into claws? Everyone here awakens something different?"
As Lin Yuan walked, he explained, "Martial Soul can be broadly divided into Beast Martial Soul and Tool Martial Soul. Beast Martial Soul strengthen the Soul Master after possession, like the wolf Martial Soul we just saw. Tool Martial Soul are more complex; swords, bows and arrows, plants, and even some special items can appear. Martial Soul Awakening at age six, and if one also possesses Soul Power, they can later become Soul Master through cultivation."
Upon hearing this, Dan Heng continued writing down the information without stopping. Occasionally, he would look up to observe the surrounding Soul Master, especially their Soul Power fluctuations and Martial Soul performance, clearly organizing the power system of the Douluo Continent into the subsequent data for the train.
March 7th quickly discovered a new problem. "What about those glowing rings we saw around you before? You know, the old man with the golden wings, there were so many rings around him, it looked pretty scary."
Lin Yuan naturally knew she was referring to Soul Ring, so he continued, "Every ten levels Soul Master gains, they will encounter a cultivation bottleneck, requiring Soul Ring to continue breaking through. Soul Ring not only enhance the Soul Master themselves but also grant Soul Skill. Soul Ring of higher age are generally stronger, but the level Soul Master can absorb depends on their own capacity."
March 7th listened with great interest, while Dan Heng began asking about the origins of Soul Ring and the relationship between Soul Beast and Soul Master. Lin Yuan didn't hide anything, giving a simple explanation of the most basic cultivation system in the Douluo Continent, without cramming too much information at once. For someone who had just arrived in this world, understanding the core concepts of Martial Soul, Soul Power, Soul Ring, and Soul Beast was enough.
While the group discussed things earnestly, Xing, who was standing nearby, hardly participated at all.
Because she has found her first goal.
Next to a restaurant on the street was a wooden trash can about half a person's height. Xing paused noticeably as she passed by, then walked over naturally under March 7th's incredulous gaze, lifted the lid, and carefully looked inside.
Several passersby were stunned.
March 7th quickly chased after him. "You actually flipped it?!"
Ignoring the growing number of stares around her, Xing reached inside and rummaged around for a bit, actually finding a discarded Copper Soul Coin. She wiped off the dust, put it in her pocket with satisfaction, and continued walking forward, as if she had just done something perfectly normal.
Lin Yuan's eye twitched slightly as he watched.
Even more outrageous, this is just the beginning.
Along the way, Xing would always check any trash can she saw. Once she found half a broken wooden comb, another time she found a rusty metal buckle, and yet another time she even found a piece of polished but discarded iron that was wrong size in a scrap bin outside a blacksmith's shop.
The blacksmith stood at the door for a long time, and finally couldn't help but ask, "Young lady, if you need these things, I can give you some. There's really no need to look for them in the bucket."
Xing hugged the piece of refined iron and shook his head, his expression extremely serious. "The one I found is different from the one someone else gave me."
March 7th has completely given up on saving her.
Lin Yuan found the scene before him increasingly familiar. The Galactic Baseballer might not care about the stares of those around him, but he would never miss a trash can that might hold a surprise—a trait that seemed to remain unchanged no matter which world he went through.
The group continued forward, and March 7th quickly refocused her attention on Martial Soul. She suddenly realized that Lin Yuan had been introducing other Soul Master since the beginning, but had never demonstrated his own power.
She turned her head to look at Lin Yuan and asked curiously, "By the way, you've talked so much about other people's Martial Soul, what about yours? Since you could make those very powerful people listen to your advice, your Martial Soul must be quite extraordinary, right?"
Upon hearing this, Dan Heng stopped recording, and Xing Ye finally gave up looking for the next trash can and turned to look at Lin Yuan.
Lin Yuan paused slightly.
He raised his right hand, and a wisp of azure starlight slowly lit up in his palm. The light was not dazzling, but it caused the gazes of the people next to him to change simultaneously, especially Dan Heng, who narrowed his eyes slightly the moment he sensed the aura within it.
The azure light gradually lengthened, and an ancient yet sharp longbow slowly materialized in Lin Yuan's hand.
Lin Yuan gripped the bow, a faint smile appearing on his lips.
"My Martial Soul is the Imperial Bow."
