Background / History

Tang San initially valued independence over sectarian allegiance. When Ning Fengzhi sought to recruit him after an auction, Tang San refused to join the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect but negotiated a confidential commercial agreement to sell hidden weapons through the Seven Treasures Auction House. He supplied a Hidden Arrow blueprint to facilitate production and secured priority access to beneficial auction items. 35

His bond with Xiao Wu shaped many of his early actions. After the Titan Giant Ape took her in the Star Dou Great Forest, Tang San pursued it and risked absorbing a two-thousand-year Man Faced Demon Spider Soul Ring, gaining an External Soul Bone. 45 Following Xiao Wu’s later disappearance, Yu Xiaogang persuaded him to prioritize gaining strength while leaving people behind to search for her. Tang San, Yu Xiaogang, and Flender subsequently moved toward Heaven Dou City and its Royal Hunting Ground to investigate Tang San’s evolving Blue Silver Grass. 74

Tang San’s cultivation changed after discovering that his Blue Silver Grass could absorb and refine spiritual-herb essence, Soul Power, and life energy. His ambition gradually eclipsed restraint.
