Slay the Dragon and Tiger, Challenge the School

When the man saw that he was a youth, he smiled. "I just came up with this name. It had a different name before!"

"Are you the head of the school?" Qin Chen asked.

The man nodded as he installed the sign. "Yes, but now I'm just a school head with no one under me."

His tone sounded ordinary, but Qin Chen heard the helplessness in it.

A moment's thought made it clear. The Dragon Tiger Martial Arts School had absorbed every other school on this street, but not this one. They were bound to have targeted it.

"I see the other martial arts schools on this street have all become Dragon Tiger Martial Arts Schools. Why are you holding out?" Qin Chen asked curiously.

The Dragon Tiger Martial Arts School was overbearing, but even if it forcibly changed the other schools into its own, it would still need martial masters. Most of the original school heads would likely stay on.

So, although they had lost their positions as school heads, they could at least remain martial masters.

Those unwilling to change, however, would end up like this man. Their schools might still exist, but they would have no students, and their signs would often be smashed. They couldn't operate normally at all, and given enough time, even making a living would probably become a problem.

The man fell silent for a while after hearing Qin Chen's question. As though he too wanted to speak the words bottled up in his heart, he said, "This martial arts school was left to me by my father."

"My father adopted me when I was little and raised me."

"I actually thought about giving up, but whenever I remember how he asked me to bring glory to the school when he passed away, I... can't give up!"

It wasn't as though no one had come these past few days, but without exception, none of them had returned the next day. He could easily guess that the people from the Dragon Tiger Martial Arts School had beaten them up.

To challenge a school, he needed a proper identity. Although he was a martial master of the Shanhai Martial Arts School, it was only in name.

A martial master in name could generally step in when someone came to challenge the school, but couldn't take the initiative to challenge another school.

Of course, he could force his way into a challenge, but that would count as a challenge between martial artists, and the other party could refuse.

What he wanted was for anyone from the Dragon Tiger Martial Arts School to have no choice but to accept his challenge.

So he needed to be a member of a martial arts school, even if he was only an ordinary student.

"Your school is open. You wouldn't turn away business, would you?" Qin Chen asked.

He soon led Qin Chen into the martial arts school and registered him on the computer.

After completing the registration, Shen Gang dangled a big promise in front of Qin Chen.

Qin Chen smiled and paid it no mind. Instead, he said, "School Head Shen, I don't think our school's name is imposing enough!"

"Oh?" Shen Gang was taken aback.

He had thought hard before settling on the name Tiger-Slaying Martial Arts School. It meant that he could destroy the Dragon Tiger Martial Arts School, and it had already taken great courage to choose it. Besides, he felt that the words "tiger-slaying" were quite imposing.

"What do you think it should be called, then?" Shen Gang asked.

"Slay the dragon, kill the tiger!" Qin Chen said calmly.

Shen Gang's expression shifted slightly. Only now did he realize that Qin Chen seemed even more intent than he was on destroying the Dragon Tiger Martial Arts School.

"All right, then, Dragon- and Tiger-Slaying it is. Haha!" Shen Gang suddenly burst out laughing. "I'll go change the sign right now!"

Qin Chen hurriedly stopped him. "I'll go!"

With that, he walked straight out of the school.

Shen Gang stared after him, feeling that something wasn't quite right.

After leaving the school, Qin Chen didn't go to have a sign made. Instead, he found a martial arts school that made martial arts uniforms and got himself a set, then went to the entrance of the Dragon Tiger Martial Arts School.

He looked up at the Dragon Tiger Martial Arts School's sign, sprang lightly into the air, and grabbed it in an instant.

Then he walked through the school's entrance.

The moment he entered, he hurled the sign away.

Bang!

The sign struck the reception desk in the hall and shattered instantly.

Everyone in the hall turned to look.

"A student of the Dragon- and Tiger-Slaying Martial Arts School has come to challenge your school!"

Silence!

Qin Chen swept his gaze around and, seeing no response, said calmly, "Will no one accept the challenge?"

Only then did everyone come to their senses. Someone had actually come to challenge their school, and their gazes instantly turned fierce.

"I will!"

With a boom, a student charged straight at him without another word.

The instant his opponent reached him, Qin Chen threw a punch. With a bang, the man was sent flying backward into a table and knocked unconscious.

"Not good enough!" Qin Chen shook his head contemptuously.

The others' expressions changed drastically. They looked at one another, but none dared step forward. The student who had just attacked was at Mid Body Tempering, just like them, yet he had been knocked out with one punch. Any one of them who went up would only get beaten.

"The Dragon Tiger Martial Arts School dominates Martial Arts School Street in Yang City and even went to Rongcheng to challenge schools. Is this all you've got now?"

Seeing everyone shrink back, Qin Chen shook his head. "I'll allow you all to come at me together!"

As he spoke, he advanced on them step by step.

"Attack, together..." One of them couldn't help shouting.

Before he could finish, however, a fist landed on him.

Bang!

His body slammed heavily into the ground, unable to move.

The others' expressions changed wildly. Just now, they hadn't even seen how Qin Chen had approached him.

"If you won't attack, I will!" Qin Chen pressed straight toward them, his fists already swinging.

"Stop!" a voice shouted.

Immediately afterward, three figures walked toward them, followed by more than ten students.

"Martial Master Luo, Martial Master Zhang, Martial Master Zhao!" the students called out at once when they saw the three.

The three merely nodded indifferently, then looked at Qin Chen. "If you're here to challenge the school, tell us where you're from."

"The Dragon- and Tiger-Slaying Martial Arts School. I'm just a new student who joined the school," Qin Chen said, looking at the three, his eyes calm as still water throughout.

"The Dragon- and Tiger-Slaying Martial Arts School?" The three martial masters' expressions turned ugly.

As far as they could remember, no such school existed, and the name was clearly aimed at the Dragon Tiger Martial Arts School.

"Martial masters, I saw Shen Gang changing his sign earlier. The name was Tiger-Slaying Martial Arts School," a student said quietly.

"Hmm?" The three martial masters looked at Qin Chen. One of them said coldly, "You're Shen Gang's new student?"

"You could say that!" Qin Chen nodded.

"Very good. You came to us of your own accord, saving us a trip."

"If you want to challenge the school, come to the training grounds!"

With that, the three martial masters turned and headed for the school's training grounds.
