The Unexpected One and the Awakened Elves
Snyder followed the dragonkin guard into Wyrmrest Temple.
The temple looked majestic from the outside, and its interior was exquisite and beautiful. Snyder observed it all. As he went deeper inside, red, blue, bronze, and green dragons appeared one after another. The black dragons, however, had been expelled because of Deathwing's betrayal.
As Snyder went farther in, he could sense that the dragons and dragonkin guards here were growing stronger as well.
"The tower ahead is where the Life-Binder and her consort live. I won't go inside."
With that, the dragonkin guard left. Snyder looked at the tower before him and couldn't help thinking how nice it was to have wings. Then he began walking up, one step at a time.
A while later, at the top of the tower.
Korialstrasz, the Red Dragon Queen's son, stood outside the door, waiting for Snyder.
"You must be Mr. Snyder. Mother asked me to welcome you here."
Snyder had just reached the top of the tower and hadn't even had time to reflect before he saw a red dragon in elven form.
"I'm Snyder. I'd like to see the Red Dragon Queen."
"Mr. Snyder, Mother asked me to welcome you here. Please follow me."
"Why do you live in a tower? Wouldn't it be better to live on level ground?" Snyder had spent a long time complaining about the length of the stairs as he climbed them.
"Uh, I can't answer that. The titans built this temple, and we don't normally use the stairs. I fly," Korialstrasz explained to Snyder.
"Heh." Snyder smiled and said nothing.
"Mother, Mr. Snyder is here."
Korialstrasz spoke to Alexstrasza, who was seated in the place of honor, then stepped aside.
"Snyder, what did you want to see me about?"
The Red Dragon Queen asked, but her mind returned to what Nozdormu, the Bronze Dragon Aspect, had told the dragon aspects that day after the blessing ended.
"I found no elf exactly like Snyder in the other timelines. Clearly, he is special."
"Then what should we do? Should we expel him or go along with him?"
"His arrival has changed the fates of many people. I can no longer see this timeline clearly, but his changes have made our world's defenses stronger."
"This world will face many powerful enemies. Having one more powerful ally is good in the end."
"Perhaps he is the turning point I have been looking for."
Hearing the Bronze Dragon Aspect's words, Alexstrasza fell silent as well. None of them could help worrying about the future, except the Aspect of the Green, who was still asleep.
The Red Dragon Queen emerged from her memories and looked at Snyder.
"I came here to find Malygos the Spellweaver."
"Malygos? He isn't here. The Bronze Dragon Aspect spends his years traveling between timelines, the Aspect of the Green sleeps in the Emerald Dream, and the Aspect of the Blue is at the Nexus, tending to Azeroth's Ley Lines. Only representatives of the various dragonflights are here."
"Thank you for the answer. I'm going to the Nexus now." With that, Snyder turned to leave.
"Wait, Snyder. May I know why you're looking for the Aspect of the Blue?" The Aspect of the Red stopped Snyder as he was about to leave.
Hearing her words, Snyder stopped and explained.
"Without the Spellweaver's blessing, the balance of energy in the seed is a little off. I need the Aspect of the Blue to bless it and stabilize it. Also, my people need magic, so I need to speak to the Aspect of the Blue about it."
"The Aspect of the Blue's mind is somewhat confused. He hasn't come to Wyrmrest Temple in a long time."
"That's all right. The Spellweaver should be willing to see me."
"Mm. You saved many blue dragons in that war. He'll see you. Have a safe journey."
Snyder left, but when he was nearly at the door, he suddenly walked toward a window. All the red dragons present were astonished.
Snyder enveloped his entire body in a flame shield, and then a pair of wings made of wind elements appeared behind him.
"It's nice to have wings." With that, Snyder pushed open the window and flew out.
The red dragons were all amused by Snyder's behavior.
"Mr. Snyder was just complaining to me about the length of the stairs," Korialstrasz said, making everyone burst into laughter.
"Unexpected one, what changes will you bring to this world?"
Snyder flew through the air, his flame shield keeping Northrend's wind and snow at bay.
Snyder first flew to Shandaral. Shaman spells could temporarily suppress their magic addiction and ease their craving for energy, but curing it would still depend on Faledor once it had grown.
Half a day later, Snyder landed near Shandaral.
This outpost had been built in the north of Kalimdor during Azshara's time. Many Highborne treasures had once been stored inside it. He just didn't know whether they were still there.
The farther Snyder went, the less snow there was. He sensed elemental power drifting through the air, produced by the elemental stone he had given the messenger.
As the outpost drew closer, the snow disappeared altogether. This place and the land outside seemed like two different worlds.
"Stop! Who are you?" A guard stationed in the outpost's loft spotted Snyder and shouted.
The guard looked haggard and weak, but his eyes revealed hope. Elemental power had revitalized them.
Although they had only been in contact with the Elemental Spirits for a short time, some of them had become Shamans. Elemental power was a plank, and they were refugees adrift at sea. The elements had given them hope, and they had devoted everything to the elements and become their followers.
Seeing the guard, Snyder decided to test them. He raised a hand and fired an Arcane Blast at a section of the outpost's wall.
Boom! A huge hole was blasted in the wall, and dust from its collapse instantly concealed Snyder.
When the dust cleared, a giant monster appeared. It was Snyder, transformed.
Seeing this, the soldier rang the warning bell.
Clang, clang, clang.
The sound of the bell and the collapsing wall spread throughout the outpost, and the elves inside sprang into action.
"That's the warning for an enemy attack!"
"We've already lost everything. Why is someone attacking us?" Some elves had already fallen into despair. They lay on the ground and began to weep.
"No! We haven't lost everything! The Elemental Spirits are still protecting us!" the messenger said loudly.
"That's right. The elements are protecting us," said an elf who had just become a Shaman, fire elements roiling in his hand.
The messenger cast a Shaman spell, Strength Totem. The totem's energy temporarily filled every elf with strength.
Their physical strength and the protection of the elements left these elves fearless.
"We will protect our home! We will destroy every enemy that comes against us!" all the elves present shouted.
The warriors picked up weapons they hadn't used in a long time, the Shamans donned their robes, and the elderly, the weak, the women, and the children began preparing supplies for the warriors.
An army had emerged. They understood their mission, and they had a faith of their own.
