The Curtain Rises

Bandersson dispatched a reconnaissance team to investigate the upper elf camp.

The Forest Troll ' scouts performed their mission admirably and drew a map of the Highborne camp.

However, their actions were discovered by a squad of Highborne sentinels.

"Follow me and charge forward to wipe them out!" said the captain of the Highborne sentinel squad.

Upon hearing the captain's order, the other soldiers rushed towards the retreating Forest Troll.

The noise made by the Highborne sentinel squad attracted the attention of the retreating Forest Troll.

"Damn it, we've been discovered." The Amani Clan Warrior was the first to draw his axe and confront the captain of the Highborne sentry squad.

The other Forest Troll Warrior also drew their weapons and fired at the approaching Highborne sentinels.

"Quickly! Eliminate them! The longer we drag this out, the more dangerous our situation will become!" The Amani Clan Warrior said this specifically in Trollish.

The Highborne Sentinel Squad leader didn't think much of it as the Troll he was fighting rattled off a bunch of things he couldn't understand.

There are essentially two possibilities in this situation: either he will cover the rear while the others retreat, but that can be ruled out now, as these Forest Troll clearly do not want to retreat.

Another option is to attack them all at once and wipe them out; obviously, this has a higher probability of success.

These Forest Troll were ready to quickly wipe out the Highborne.

"Come on, you barbaric fellow!" the Highborne sentinel squad leader retorted, though neither side seemed to understand what the other was saying.

"Clang!" The two weapons clashed together.

The Amani Clan Warrior's axe slammed down on the Highborne squad leader.

The squad leader gripped his sword with both hands and desperately blocked the attack, gritting his teeth as he felt the power emanating from the blade.

While the Amani Clan Warrior was channeling his power into his weapon, the Amani Clan Warrior kicked him in the groin.

The Amani Clan Warrior were thrown into disarray by the sudden attack and staggered backward.

The squad leader's actions bought him a chance to catch his breath.

Although the Amani Clan 'Warrior attack was initially unsuccessful, they quickly regrouped and launched another attack.

The Amani Clan Warrior also became ferocious, and swung their two axes directly at the squad leader's head.

The squad leader did not choose to confront them head-on; instead, he skillfully dodged their attacks and waited for an opportunity to strike the Amani Clan Warrior.

Seeing this, the Amani Clan Warrior decided to deal with the other members of the Highborne sentinel squads to increase their advantage.

Seeing that the Amani Clan Warrior had changed his target, the squad leader chased after him, intending to continue entangled with him.

Unexpectedly, this played right into the hands of the Amani Clan Warrior. It turned out that the Amani Clan Warrior' real intention was to lure the Highborne sentinel squad leader over by feigning a change of target.

The Amani Clan Warrior turned around and swung his axe fiercely at the squad leader who was closely following him.

The Highborne squad leader was caught off guard by the sudden attack and suffered a deep wound on his chest.

"Damn it," the Highborne sentinel squad leader cursed, looking at the wound on his chest.

"If I had been any later, I would have taken him out immediately," the squad leader thought to himself.

The Amani Clan Warrior gave him no chance to breathe, charging forward with their axes.

The squad leader could only swing his sword to defend himself, but because he was already seriously injured, he could only desperately hold on.

"Whoosh!" A throwing axe struck the squad leader in the back and pierced through the skin.

This sudden blow shattered the already fragile balance.

The squad leader staggered from the blow, Amani Clan Warrior seized the opportunity to finish him off with a single strike.

After the Amani Clan Warrior dealt with the Highborne sentry squad leader, they saw that the Forest Troll he had sent back to report had returned, and he had brought back a number of Forest Troll reinforcements.

The arrival of reinforcements sealed the victory for the Forest Troll, and the remaining Highborne were also dealt with by the other Forest Troll working together.

"What are Lord Bandersson's orders?" the Amani Clan Warrior asked the returning Forest Troll.

"Bandersson says he wants you to lead us in a probing attack on the elven camp."

"He has already led a large force towards us and has also sent a message to the three chieftains who remained behind, instructing them to begin advancing according to plan after receiving the message."

"Hmm." The Amani Clan Warrior nodded, indicating that he understood.

"By the way, how many people did you bring?" the Amani Clan Warrior asked.

"Bandersson said it was just a probing attack, so he didn't give us many troops, only a few hundred," the Forest Troll said, and his troops were revealed one by one.

The Amani Clan Warrior surveyed the entire force and sighed, realizing that this was a probing attack.

Their strengths are uneven; if they were to launch a direct attack, they would be quickly wiped out.

"Come here." The Amani Clan Warrior summoned the Forest Troll who had initially drawn the map.

"What's wrong, Captain?" the Forest Troll asked, puzzled. He had already handed over the map he had drawn, so why was he being asked to do something else?

"You few guard him and deliver this map to Lord Bandersson." The Amani Clan Warrior took out the map again and handed it to the Forest Troll had drawn it, assigning several Forest Troll as guards to protect him.

"Understood, Captain." Although he didn't understand why the captain had assigned him this task, he didn't have time to think about it anymore; handing the map over to Bandersson was the most important thing.

Seeing that the squad protecting the map had already gone far away, the Amani Clan Warrior began to reorganize their troops in preparation for a probing attack on the Highborne camp.

These Forest Troll varied in strength, but they were obedient and followed the orders of the Amani Clan Warrior without question.

"Get your weapons ready, we're about to attack."

The Amani Clan Warrior were at a loss for words in this situation and could only tell them to get ready.

And so the Amani Clan Warrior, leading their prepared troops, sneaked over.

The Highborne sentries along the way were also taken down by the high-poison darts they carried.

When they were still some distance from the Highborne camp, they revealed themselves first and fired an arrow at the Highborne guards standing watch inside the camp.

The poisoned arrow, fired from the bow, struck the unfortunate sentry directly.

The Amani Clan Warrior cheered loudly after their success.

The Forest Troll behind him also revealed themselves, unleashing a barrage of arrows at the Highborne.

The noise made by the Forest Troll also attracted the attention of the guards throughout the Highborne camp.
