Ten minutes later.
"Click!"
Magnu snapped the sentry's neck.
They have obtained the information they wanted.
Wenna said in the communication, "We have received preliminary intelligence. The base's security perimeter is divided into six zones, with the defensive strength gradually increasing from far to near. This is the outermost zone."
"Each perimeter has sentry posts, and an officer manages all the sentries in that area. According to the interrogation just now, the officer can log into the base's intranet. So as long as we reach the sentry post, we can use the officer's computer to browse the base network and gather specific intelligence on the enemy."
"The sentry has revealed the location of the outpost. Time is of the essence; I request immediate action."
Ye Fan pondered. Delay could lead to unforeseen changes. There was a set system for changing shifts at sentries. At most, the other side would discover that the sentry had died a violent death within a few hours. But as long as they could obtain intelligence, exposure was not a problem. The Hesla army was launching a large-scale invasion, and they could not hide it from the enemy's eyes and ears. What they needed to do was to find out the defense measures and military strength of the Dark Crow Valley Base.
However, if Wenna's operation succeeds, the members of the Thirteenth Bureau, who are lurking in Crow Forest Town, will be at risk of being exposed. The sentry's death and the outsider's entry into Crow Forest Town happen on the same day, and even if the members of the Thirteenth Bureau do not have time to commit the crime, they may still arouse suspicion from the enemy.
At this moment, Ye Fan made a rational decision.
"Operation approved. Proceed to the enemy stronghold immediately."
Wenna nodded, disposed of the body, and led her team to the scene.
Ye Fan exhaled, shifting his gaze from the screen to the office of the Thirteenth Bureau. He shook his head slightly; his decision was not based on personal likes or dislikes, but solely on the mission. He would inform the Thirteenth Bureau later.
In the world of business, everyone faces risks.
Before dawn, Wenna and her group found the sentry post.
This is a very secluded cabin in the woods, like a hunter's rest stop.
The group quietly approached. Magnu took out a sonic detector from his backpack, tapped it against the outer wall of the cabin, and activated it. Once activated, the detector scanned the area and produced a black-and-white pixelated result showing three humanoid targets: one lying on a sofa, and two sitting at a table, seemingly having a late-night snack.
Wenna raised her fingers and silently counted down.
Three, two, one! Wenna burst out, smashing through the window, her teammates following closely behind.
The three enemies, caught off guard by the invasion, jumped up in terror. Before they could even shout or draw their pistols, they were taken down by three tranquilizer darts fired by the Well-Trained Hesla agents.
The Hesla then searched the room and the three men's clothing, finding a hidden compartment in the wall containing a safe. Another agent found an identification card on one of the unconscious enemies, which clearly stated that the man was a military officer.
"This is the target." Wenna's face lit up with joy. This man was the officer in charge of the outpost. She looked at his ID card; his name was Roman, and he was a Black man.
The agents bound Roman tightly, then injected him with a stimulant. Once he slowly regained consciousness, Magnu slapped him across the face to hasten his awakening, and hissed, "Tell me the safe's combination if you don't want to die!"
Roman was terrified by the group of fully armed agents in front of him and hurriedly confessed, showing no loyalty whatsoever.
Enter the password, and the safe will open smoothly. Inside is a specially made laptop, not any brand available on the market.
Upon turning on the computer, a login screen appears, requiring ID card verification and a password.
Roman cooperated, logging into the interface through his account. A cheerful ringtone played, and a welcome message appeared on the computer screen:
"Ta-da! The Germinal, user-friendly assistant is here to serve you!"
Ye Fan, who was drinking coffee, spat it out.
All the Hesla agents present twitched.
The art styles don't match at all!
"So... so witty..." Ye Fan choked on his words, unsure whether to spit them out.
Menus of various levels appeared on the interface. Roman's permissions were low, and he could only browse a small portion of them. Wenna and the others saw the various locked logs of the base, and everyone became secretly excited.
These logs contain all the intelligence about the base.
"I'll do it." Ye Fan instructed Magnu to insert a chip into the computer, and the screen in front of Ye Fan in the base immediately synchronized with that computer.
Ye Fan's expression suddenly turned serious, and his hands moved at high speed like butterflies flitting among flowers, frantically typing on the keyboard, with code flowing out like a waterfall.
One layer of firewall, cracked!
Layer 2 firewall, cracked!
Three-layer firewall, cracked!
Internal dynamic password cracked!
Access restrictions bypassed!
Ye Fan smiled slightly. He was a senior hacker in Hesla, possessing hundreds of different kinds of virus attack programs. Apart from certain monsters on the Dark Net and the "disconnecting the network" technique, no one could stop his intrusion.
Within three minutes, all the locked documents were unlocked. Only then did the enemy hackers react, frantically deleting them, while Ye Fan quickly backed them up. Both sides were racing against time.
Soon, all the data was deleted. Ye Fan's laptop wasn't fast enough, and even with his exceptional skills, he only managed to back up 28%. When deleting documents from the base and Tu Shu, he started with the confidential ones.
That was enough. The information Ye Fan obtained included the base's defensive layout, internal structure, military terrain, and extensive logs.
"Mission accomplished, come back now." Ye Fan breathed a sigh of relief.
This intelligence theft will certainly put Dark Crow Valley Base on alert, but with the intelligence in hand, it doesn't matter if we're exposed.
Ye Fan, however, had a strange feeling about it.
It seems... things are going a little too smoothly.
"Sir, the outer network has been compromised."
In the intelligence control room of Dark Crow Valley Base, filled with computer screens, a staff member spoke.
The base's deputy Ji Jie, a tall, thin man with a sinister appearance, calmly approached the screen and slowly asked, "What data was stolen?"
"Base experiment log, base internal structure diagram, base coordinates, base sentry shift change record..."
The staff recited more than a dozen key pieces of information, and despite the clear breach, no one showed any sign of panic.
"Could the intruders be from Hesla?"
"The bait has been cast, we're just waiting for the fish to take the bait." Ji Jie's lips curled into a slight smirk, revealing a hint of mockery, like a hunter watching his prey fall into a trap.
Ji Jie arrived at the supervisor's office and reported to Pan Kuang.
"A hacker just breached the outer camouflage network, likely the Hesla people. It may be attacked by the military soon."
Pan Kuang carefully wiped a dark, long sword with a handkerchief. The sword was as cold as an autumn lake, with a straight and thick blade. The hilt was wrapped with strips of cloth. Judging from the mottled, dried bloodstains, the sword had not only been used for many years but had also taken many lives.
Pan Kuang focused intently on wiping his knife, seemingly oblivious to everything else. Without even looking up, he simply asked, "What do you think should be done?"
Ji Jie cleared his throat and said, "Although the enemy only obtained decoy intelligence, it has still exposed the existence of the base. I suggest requesting the leader to evacuate, taking all the supplies and data with us, and before evacuating, killing as many enemy personnel as possible."
"Hmm," Pan Kuang said calmly, "Just say the word if you need me to fight."
