The Divine Realm.
Temple of Death.
It's not as sinister and terrifying as people imagine.
The actual atmosphere of the Temple of Death is one of tranquility.
The temple's main colors are black and white, and the throne has a simple style, upon which Tanasi, the God of Death, sits.
He appeared to be about 2.5 meters tall, his form shifting between reality and illusion, his face displaying a perfectly androgynous appearance, and his skin tone resembling the cold white hue of moonlight on a glacier.
The face of the God of Death is forever calm and still, like a bottomless icy lake. His eyes are like two slowly rotating silent star vortexes. His left eye rotates counterclockwise, devouring starlight, while his right eye rotates clockwise, flowing with faint silver-gray soul fragments.
Those were fragments condensed from extremely pure soul power; even a single speck of them would be enough for True God of the soul system to fight tooth and nail for.
Long, waist-length hair woven from ethereal threads cascaded onto the cold, imposing throne. Though seemingly pure black, it shimmered like stardust as it swayed. Tiny specks of soul light naturally emerged from the ends of the hair; upon closer inspection, one would discover that these were miniature God of Death wielding scythes, cloaked, their eyes barely visible, exuding a chilling aura, yet concealed beneath a tiny dimension, carrying an imperceptible deathly presence.
On the brow of the God of Death, there is a vertical mark, the Mark of Returning to Stillness, which looks like a closed eye. When it opens, it reveals the runes of the ultimate law within. Souls that look directly at these runes will be directly drawn to the end of the Underworld.
Utter stillness is the first impression that the God of Death gives people.
Death seemed less frightening to him, even alluring, as if Eternity tranquility was the end of everything.
He raised his long, pale hand, his fingertips appearing translucent. Within his palm, the phantom of River of Souls seemed to flow, and his dark silver fingernails were engraved with River Styx Magic Array.
At this moment, a faint light emanates from my fingertips, and strands of information flow through them, unfolding a series of images.
The God of Death leaned slightly forward, his Divine Robe of Eternal Night resembling flowing black clouds, containing the power of the dark side of the universe. Tiny stars were constantly born, burned, and extinguished along the edge of the robe, symbolizing the brief cycle of life.
As scenes flashed above his palm and numerous pieces of information converged, the Divine Robe of Eternal Night fluttered like a ribbon in the wind, seemingly in harmony with the mood of Tanasi, the God of Death.
The scenes that flashed by were undoubtedly closely related to the Ancestral Tree of Life.
Since Lancelot made contact with the Ancestral Tree of Life, the two have begun to plot against the God of Death.
As a hidden agent, the Ancestral Tree of Destruction quickly began to cause trouble.
He first joined forces with the Void Insect Clan to attack the Floating Light Civilization Floating Light Civilization, almost bringing it to the brink of collapse. However, at the critical moment, the Adrian Federation behind the Floating Light Civilization intervened, which caused the Ancestral Tree of Destruction to retreat.
The God of Death also knew a deeper secret: during this process, the God of Wisdom, Divine Realm Angley, also secretly intervened, helping the Floating Light Civilization overcome its difficulties.
The God of Death was unconcerned about this; he didn't care whether the Floating Light Civilization lived or died. What he truly cared about was everything that happened afterward.
The Void Insect Clan and the Ancestral Tree of Destruction seemed to have unleashed their aggressive desires after attacking the Floating Light Civilization, and soon after, they turned their attention to another advanced Astral Realm civilization.
This advanced Astral Realm civilization called Doruk is under the jurisdiction of the World Alliance, and is a subordinate civilization of the World Alliance of Realms.
This is a group-based civilization with almost no individual strongmen. They are very exclusive and have their own mental networks. Knowledge spreads and is learned very quickly. Their civilization is on a good upward trend. They are not aggressive and prefer to stay in their own territory and develop quietly.
The Dolu Civilization was highly capable of development; even extremely barren regions could be quickly transformed into prosperous areas under their rule.
The existence of the Mind Network allowed for unimpeded technological exchange within the Dolu Civilization, and with the deliberate support of the Boundary World Alliance, its development speed was extremely rapid.
Such a wealthy civilization, yet lacking in combat strength, naturally attracted the covetous eyes of various hungry wolves. However, the presence of the World Alliance as Intimidation had kept everyone from taking any action.
However, as the situation in the Astral Realm shifts from peace to chaos, with wars breaking out one after another and conflicts erupting frequently, the Intimidation power of the advanced civilization is rapidly declining.
Challengers, eager to make their move, have begun to emerge in various border regions of the World Alliance.
The Dolu Civilization is just one of them, but it is given more attention because of its outstanding importance to the World Alliance and its ability to provide a great deal of resources.
Therefore, after the Ancestral Tree of Destruction and the Void Insect Clan' attack on the Dolu Civilization, the World Alliance's support arrived quickly.
Initially, it wasn't the Ancestral Tree of Life that intervened personally; it was the Moon God, a Supreme God and the Elf King's consort, who came.
The Elf King is divided into two types: Sun Elf and Moon Elf, with the Moon Elf inheriting the bloodline of the Moon God.
In terms of strength, the Moon God is certainly no match for the Destroyer of the Ancestral Tree of Destruction, let alone the Void Insect Clan have been strengthened.
But the Moon God's status itself represents the attitude of the World Alliance.
The Moon God's arrival at the Dolu Civilization was not truly intended to wage war against the Ancestral Tree of Destruction, but rather to serve as Intimidation, hoping to force the Ancestral Tree of Destruction and the Void Insect Clan to retreat.
That was indeed the case at first.
But soon, things changed.
Not long after the clash between the World Tree and the Lord of Nightmares, the Ancestral Tree of Destruction suddenly launched a fierce attack, slaying the unsuspecting Moon God directly in the core territory of the Dolu Civilization.
The blood of the Moon God fell into the Void.
The situation began to deteriorate rapidly.
Enraged, the Ancestral Tree of Life left the World Tree Universe carrying the Death Note and personally came to the Dolu Civilization to fight against the Ancestral Tree of Destruction.
The two sides clashed fiercely, shattering the Endless Void. Even the combined might of the Ancestral Tree of Destruction and the Void Insect Clan was overwhelmed by the enraged Ancestral Tree of Life.
At the critical moment, the Infinite Serpent of Primogenitor Mountain, a descendant of the Nightmare Hydra, intervened and joined the battle, working together with the Ancestral Tree of Destruction to stop the Ancestral Tree of Life, and the two sides returned to a stalemate.
The World Alliance and the Primogenitor Mountain also began to confront each other directly, with both sides deploying their troops and fighting in multiple territories, and the flames of war spreading rapidly.
Pureblood Human Race also joined the war and contributed greatly, especially in intelligence gathering.
It was under these circumstances that the God of Death saw the opportunity to obtain the Death Note.
He didn't think it was a trap.
The reason is simple.
That's too much of a show.
Two Eternal, two super-civilizations, are locked in a direct war.
The God of Death asked himself if he had such influence.
Thus, the God of Death, who had always been exceptionally cautious, like a cold, lurking venomous snake, quietly bared its fangs at this moment.
His slender fingers clenched, shattering scene after scene. The God of Death reached out and gently pointed, and a screen of light reappeared before his eyes.
A figure quickly materialized on the light screen.
With crimson hair and golden eyes, clad in burning divine armor, and standing atop the Hall of Heroic Spirits, his rugged and masculine face concealed a fierce and overwhelming battle intent. His valor seemed capable of shaking the Void, and his cloak billowed behind him without wind, rising high like a burning flame of war.
God of War Dax, the elder brother of the God of Death, the two have walked hand in hand since the beginning of time, and their bond is exceptionally deep.
Only before the God of War, the God of Death, who always presents a cold face, will reveal a smile that is utterly devastating.
"Have you made your decision?" the God of War asked with a smile.
"Hmm." The God of Death smiled faintly.
"Very well, then proceed according to your plan. Whether it succeeds or fails, I will take care of it." The God of War laughed heartily, like a burning flame.
"Alright." The God of Death's eyes softened, and he nodded slightly.
And so, another battle that would sweep across a large part of the Astral Realm slowly began.
