Yin energy surged from the Ten Thousand Souls Banner and swept viciously over Sister Liangzi.

The yin energy entered her body, and when it withdrew, it faintly drew some translucent material out of her.

Sister Liangzi let out a scream like a pig being slaughtered. Clutching her head in both hands, she fell to the floor and rolled around wildly.

She was enormously strong. As she rolled, she smashed straight through two shelves and a coffin in the shop.

It was just like accidentally letting a pig break free during the New Year slaughter.

The horrific sight terrified the young man hiding by the door.

He opened the door and tried to run.

Chen Fan's eyes turned cold. He pointed, and the Ten Thousand Souls Banner fired another stream of yin energy that wrapped around the young man.

With a single sweep, the yin energy pulled an entire illusory soul from his body.

The young man dropped dead on the spot.

The yin energy carried his soul into the Ten Thousand Souls Banner. Afterward, a miserable-looking yin soul could faintly be seen drifting across its surface. A closer look revealed the young man's appearance in life.

Chen Fan was delighted by the sight.

What a treasure! What a treasure!

With a wave of his hand, the Ten Thousand Souls Banner turned into a small flag and flew into his palm, slowly revolving above it.

Just then, Sister Liangzi, who had been rolling around nearby, suddenly let out an enraged roar. She slammed one palm against the floor and sprang to her feet, then clutched her head with her other hand and charged for the door.

Crash!

She smashed straight through the shop's glass door.

Sister Liangzi had actually seized the chance to escape.

Chen Fan didn't hurry after her.

He stood where he was and calmly took a moment to understand his own extraordinary power.

Now he fully understood just how powerful his ability was.

Liangzi couldn't escape his grasp.

Chen Fan knew that the young man had died after one sweep of the Ten Thousand Souls Banner's yin energy while Liangzi had survived because she had awakened extraordinary power and had a stronger soul.

But by Chen Fan's estimate, it would take three hits at most.

Liangzi couldn't withstand three attacks from his Ten Thousand Souls Banner.

He looked at a nanmu coffin nearby.

Chen Fan wanted to test his Artifact Refining Furnace's ability again.

He placed his hand on the coffin.

A prompt immediately sounded in his mind.

[Spend 100 points of origin artifact materials to refine the nanmu coffin into an immortal-path artifact?]

Chen Fan grinned.

Refine!

[100 points of origin artifact materials spent. Nanmu coffin refined into the low-grade artifact Endless Black Coffin]

The nanmu coffin was stained pitch-black, then sank into the ground.

It vanished in an instant.

Chen Fan took a moment to understand it, then reached out and pointed at the young man on the floor.

Several pitch-black boards immediately appeared around the young man.

Below, in front, behind, to the left, to the right... and finally above.

Six pitch-black boards appeared out of thin air and assembled one after another, enclosing the young man in a black coffin.

The coffin lid came last.

With a click, the lid closed completely.

The black coffin sank and vanished.

Chen Fan sensed that over the next twelve hours, the young man would gradually be transformed into a zombie, an iron-armored corpse.

Its strength would be equivalent to that of a first-tier extraordinary.

A smile appeared on Chen Fan's lips.

The combination of these two artifacts was wonderful. Nothing went to waste.

"Your soul goes into my Ten Thousand Souls Banner, and your body becomes my iron-armored corpse. Wonderful, wonderful! Sister Liangzi, where are you? Here I come!"

Chen Fan flipped his hand, and the Ten Thousand Souls Banner vanished from his palm.

He picked up the backpack on the floor, put it on, and strolled leisurely outside.

He had no idea where Sister Liangzi and the other guy had hidden the supplies they'd scavenged.

They had come looking for him empty-handed.

But he wasn't worried about supplies anymore. With this extraordinary ability, why would he be afraid of going without?

With his hands in his pockets, Chen Fan sauntered out onto the street.

He got on his little yellow bike.

After riding along at a leisurely pace for two alleys, he spotted Sister Liangzi fleeing with her head in her hands, staggering like a drunk.

"Sister Liangzi, here I come!"

Hearing Chen Fan's voice behind her, Sister Liangzi let out a furious scream and ran a little faster.

But her soul had been damaged, and her mind was foggy. She could barely keep her balance, so how could she possibly get away?

Chen Fan rode his little yellow bike effortlessly behind her.

"Sister Liangzi, why are you running?"

"Sister Liangzi, I like you!"

"Sister Liangzi, don't you recognize your little brother anymore?"

Sister Liangzi bellowed in anger, "Screw off! Get the hell away from me!"

The cold smile vanished from Chen Fan's lips. He pointed, and the Ten Thousand Souls Banner appeared behind him.

Another stream of yin energy shot out.

It swept over Sister Liangzi.

Another portion of her soul was swept into the Ten Thousand Souls Banner.

Sister Liangzi screamed, staggered forward a few steps, and collapsed on the ground, her eyes vacant.

Now she was visibly more dead than alive, unable even to run.

Just as Chen Fan was about to strike again and finally send Sister Liangzi into the Ten Thousand Souls Banner,

Two cars suddenly came speeding down the alley.

They were going fast, rapidly closing in on Chen Fan.

Chen Fan narrowed his eyes and held off for the moment.

The people in the lead car had apparently noticed Chen Fan too. A rugged, burly man in sunglasses poked his head out of the driver's window.

"Sister Liangzi, what's going on? Who's that guy?"

Clearly, they knew one another.

Lying on the ground, Sister Liangzi called weakly, "This guy awakened extraordinary power. He wants to kill me..."

Chen Fan immediately attacked, sending a surge of yin energy at the man in sunglasses.

The man's expression tightened. He looked at the great banner floating behind Chen Fan, black energy billowing from it, his face full of wariness.

He raised his hand, summoned a flying axe, and threw it at Chen Fan.

That was his extraordinary ability, Flying Axe.

Chen Fan ducked to the side and rolled across the ground, successfully dodging the flying axe.

The yin energy Chen Fan had attacked with first wasn't so easy to dodge.

Seeing the black energy surging toward him, the man in sunglasses hastily ducked back into the car in fright.

But the black energy passed straight through the car window. It even took on a horrifying human form and lunged at him.

"Xiao Lin?"

The man in sunglasses was startled at first, then recognized the human form in the black energy as Xiao Lin, who followed Sister Liangzi around.

Then Xiao Lin lunged into his body, and the agony in his soul made him scream.

The car went out of control and crashed into the courtyard wall of a nearby house.

Boom!

The car came to rest across the road.

The car following behind couldn't brake in time and crashed into it.

Immediately afterward, the driver's door of the rear car opened, and a tall, thin man with a sinister face rushed out.

His left arm twisted and transformed into a long, green-scaled snake.

Extraordinary ability: Snake Hand.

The sinister man's eyes remained fixed on Chen Fan, but he failed to notice Xiao Lin's soul carrying the yin energy through the man in sunglasses' car and lunging at him from the side.

By the time the sinister man reacted, Xiao Lin had already come at him from an angle and reached him.

"Ah!!!"

The yin soul entered the sinister man's body, and he fell screaming.

In an instant, all three extraordinary members of the convoy had fallen to Chen Fan.

If his guess was correct, these three extraordinary people were the leaders of the convoy.

A convoy with three extraordinary people was already far from weak in the apocalypse.

But none of the three was dead yet. At this stage, Chen Fan's yin soul couldn't kill a first-tier extraordinary in a single strike.

The man in sunglasses in the lead car had recovered a little by now.

He struggled out of the car and looked at Chen Fan, his face ashen.

"You idiot, why do you think we were driving away..."

Before he could finish, more than a dozen figures came charging down the alley behind them, swaying, running wildly, and roaring from time to time.

Their skin was deathly pale and their flesh was rotting, yet they ran extremely fast. They were also frenzied and immensely strong.

Chen Fan's gaze sharpened as he recognized them.

They were zombies, one of the most common types of monster after the apocalypse.

But they weren't the slow, sluggish kind of zombie.

These zombies could run, jump, and pounce on people.

When they turned vicious, they were as fierce as crazed wild dogs.

There was no telling how many slower members of the convoy had fallen victim to them.
