Seeing Tangtang's mouth form an "o," Lin Yi thoughtfully assumed the little one was going to blow on him. Instead, her mouth opened wider and wider. She was yawning.

"Ah, my feelings were misplaced again."

Lin Yi nodded helplessly and gently patted the little one.

"Oh, oh, oh~ time for sleepy-bye."

Seeing Tangtang's eyelids droop, Lin Yi spread out the little mat and put it on the bed.

The moment he put her on the bed, the little one protested. She insisted on being held.

"Daddy will hold you while you sleep, hold you while you sleep."

Lin Yi comforted her softly, and the little one gradually stopped crying. To make his daughter comfortable, Lin Yi sat cross-legged and held her.

Little did he know, Lin Yi would hold her all night. After being fed a few times in between, the little one behaved herself. It seemed she slept more soundly in Lin Yi's arms.

In the early morning, sunlight streamed into the bedroom. Ever since the little one had slapped him, Lin Yi hadn't dared close his eyes for fear something might happen to her.

All night, Lin Yi kept his eyes on Tangtang in his arms. As her dad, he could never get enough of looking at her.

Just then, a familiar mechanical voice rang out in Lin Yi's mind.

[The system has detected that the host stayed awake all night for the little one's safety. Golden Potion awarded as a special reward]

As soon as the system finished speaking, a white glass bottle appeared out of thin air beside Lin Yi. From the outside, its contents looked just like water.

Lin Yi seriously suspected that the system was trying to fool him with mineral water.

"System, system, are you sure this is the Golden Potion?"

"Yes, host. Please don't doubt it."

"Then what does it do?"

"Please figure that out for yourself."

The system vanished as soon as it finished speaking, leaving Lin Yi completely baffled. He couldn't help grumbling inwardly, This system is garbage. It doesn't even come with instructions. A three-no product.

Lin Yi then opened the white glass bottle beside him and downed it in one gulp. He savored the aftertaste for a moment; it really was as tasteless as water.

Just as Lin Yi was about to complain about the system, a trace of warmth flowed through his body. Then all his fatigue vanished. He was no longer sleepy, and he felt even more energetic. Even the dark circles around his eyes disappeared.

Feeling the change in his body, Lin Yi was amazed to find that the Golden Potion the system had given him really worked. He grinned and praised it. "Anything made by the system is guaranteed to be top quality."

"Didn't you just call it a three-no product?" the system suddenly popped up and demanded.

Lin Yi didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "Why does this system hold grudges?"

Meanwhile, Zhang Meilan had gotten up early. Without the burden of looking after the baby at night, she felt ill at ease all over.

Whenever she heard the baby cry at night, she sat up on reflex. By the time she nearly reached Lin Yi's room, Tangtang had stopped crying.

After this happened a few times, she couldn't sleep soundly either. Since she couldn't sleep anyway, she got up early to make breakfast.

After making breakfast, Zhang Meilan came to Lin Yi's bedroom to call him to eat. When she reached the room, she saw him sitting in the middle of the bed with the little one in his arms.

Golden sunlight fell on Lin Yi, making him look especially handsome. Zhang Meilan couldn't bear to look away.

Lin Yi realized someone was at the door and looked up to see Zhang Meilan staring straight at him. "Meilan, what's wrong?"

Hearing him call her, Zhang Meilan finally came to her senses. "Brother Lin, you didn't sit there holding Tangtang all night, did you?"

"No, of course not. I only started this morning," Lin Yi hurriedly explained. If he told Zhang Meilan he really had held Tangtang all night, she'd probably think there was something wrong with him.

"Oh, I see. Did Tangtang cry much last night?"

Lin Yi recalled patting the little one for a long time the night before and said helplessly, "Not much. She just wouldn't sleep for a while and was full of energy."

"Babies are all like that. There are twenty-four hours in a day, and they sleep for twenty of them. Maybe she slept too much during the day, so she didn't get sleepy as easily at night," Zhang Meilan explained conscientiously.

Lin Yi nodded. Still, they had gotten through the night without mishap, and Tangtang had been fairly cooperative.

Lin Yi had only looked after the baby for one night, and practice made perfect. He believed he would get better and better at it.

A moment ago, when Lin Yi looked up, Zhang Meilan had been a little puzzled. He was the one who had looked after Tangtang last night, so how was he more energetic than she was when she hadn't?

Zhang Meilan couldn't figure it out, so she stopped thinking about it. Then she said, "Brother Lin, breakfast is ready. Go ahead and eat."

He glanced at the clock on the wall. It was already eight thirty. After breakfast, Lin Yi planned to go to school first. He didn't know how long the class meeting would take. After all, he wanted to get everything done early and come back to keep his precious daughter company.

After breakfast, Lin Yi got dressed and took his car keys, ready to leave. Suddenly, Tangtang's cries came from the bedroom.

Without time to think, Lin Yi rushed into the bedroom. "What's wrong, Tangtang? Are you hungry?"

The little one couldn't speak and kept crying. Judging from her experience, Zhang Meilan concluded that the little one was hungry.

She went downstairs to prepare formula for the baby, while Lin Yi picked the little one up from the bed. "Don't cry, Tangtang. Your 'rations' will be here soon."

Sure enough, once the bottle's nipple was in the little one's mouth, she stopped crying and drank quickly, gulping it down.

Before long, the formula was nearly gone. Once Tangtang had her fill, she spat out the nipple.

Seeing that the baby was full and had stopped crying, Lin Yi said reluctantly, "Tangtang, Daddy has to go out, but I'll be right back."

"Be good and wait for Daddy at home. Listen to Auntie Meilan, okay?"

With that, Lin Yi handed Tangtang over to Zhang Meilan. For some reason, the little one started crying as soon as she was in Zhang Meilan's arms.

Lin Yi didn't know whether to laugh or cry. His precious daughter had gotten attached to him. He was happy, though. If the baby weren't so little, he would have taken Tangtang along while he took care of his errands.

He then comforted her softly. "Be good, baby. Daddy will bring you something yummy when he comes back. It'll smell really good."

"Mia~mia~"

Tangtang seemed to understand and lay obediently in Zhang Meilan's arms. Her chubby little hands flapped vigorously, as if she were shooing Lin Yi out.

Lin Yi hadn't expected it either. He had only been trying to coax her, but Tangtang had actually taken him seriously.

Seeing her shoo him out, though, he had mixed feelings. He felt like nothing more than a tool. It seemed that, in Tangtang's heart, tasty food was more important than Daddy.
